They were very smart. But smart is what's helped us humans wipe out so many other species on this world.
Smart is what made us work out we could use a rock to fight with instead of our hands.
Our brain is wonderful, but can be dangerous.... But if it wasn't, we probably wouldn't be here. We would have been eaten by predators in a heartbeat.

The Soviets were atheist. Russia was a dump for 100 years. Still is. Who in the hell is going to buy Warren Buffet's Cadillac? Anyone heard of Bohemian Grove?

Lets not cast a negative light on atheism, lets simply stop judging the whole of people's value based in a singular belief, there are no benefits whatsoever.

Belief is necessary for success but can also be the same mechanism that causes failure. It is not what we believe in but the mindset that controls it

Here is proof

Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

A leading expert in motivation and personality psychology, Carol Dweck has discovered in more than twenty years of research that our mindset is not a minor personality quirk: it creates our whole mental world. It explains how we become optimistic or pessimistic. It shapes our goals, our attitude toward work and relationships, and how we raise our kids, ultimately predicting whether or not we will fulfill our potential. Dweck has found that everyone has one of two basic mindsets.

If you have the fixed mindset, you believe that your talents and abilities are set in stone–either you have them or you don’t. You must prove yourself over and over, trying to look smart and talented at all costs. This is the path of stagnation. If you have a growth mindset, however, you know that talents can be developed and that great abilities are built over time. This is the path of opportunity–and success.

Dweck demonstrates that mindset unfolds in childhood and adulthood and drives every aspect of our lives, from work to sports, from relationships to parenting. She reveals how creative geniuses in all fields–music, literature, science, sports, business–apply the growth mindset to achieve results. Perhaps even more important, she shows us how we can change our mindset at any stage of life to achieve true success and fulfillment. She looks across a broad range of
applications and helps parents, teachers, coaches, and executives see how they can promote the growth mindset.

Highly engaging and very practical, Mindset breaks new ground as it leads you to change how you feel about yourself and your future.

“This book is an essential read for parents, teachers, coaches, and others who are instrumental in determining a child’s mind-set, and in turn, his or her future success, as well as for those who would like to increase their own feelings of success and fulfillment.” --Library Journal

the power of yet is about overcoming the challenges of intellectual growth

the potential is not limited by how you perform but your mindset

lets lose the mindsets that keep us from growing

here are two youtubes by people with opposite beliefs

Dan Dennet (one of the four horsemen of atheism) Evolutionary biologist and philosopher

Let's teach all religions in schools

Rick Warren (Pastor) Best Selling Author

Purpose driven life

Two great ted talks about two subjects

One argues learning about all religions for the purpose of understanding religion is a natural process (and not god driven)

One argues the need of a purpose driven life

The best part is that regardless of their opposing views, they both make excellent points (as proof of their popularity) regarding human nature, none of which conflicts with one another.

Being able to see the benefit in both regardless is a matter of mindset.

Mindset has to be open. Can't be rooted in fear of questioning your own beliefs.

Can't we get off the god stuff already? This thread isn't about your personal beliefs wether you believe in god or not, to each their own. And yes I know I spelled that wrong lol, let's get back to what this threads about... the big bang theory I'm not sure about a lot of hypothesis in this thread but one thing I do know is absolutely jack shit just like everyone else posting here, a lot of the things posted in this thread no one will know till we die. But since we're not dead lets focus on science I truly think our universe is nothing more than a micro organism existing on another living being. Think about all the microscopic critters crawling on our skin 24/7 what makes anyone think we're not microscopic critters crawling around on something?

Bottom line people may believe in Christianity or what ever truth is it will really be short lived watch this video there is no denying the fact

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kKkY5EpVpY

yup, I'm sure that nothing but truth and facts will be on youtube. I mean, if it's on the internet, it HAS to be true, right? (insert favorite sarcasticon here) I ALWAYS go on the internet looking for the truth... the fact is that you don't believe, everyone understands that. do you understand that nobody cares? stop beating a dead horse....no one (least of all me) is looking for converts except for you.

Cute

90% aren't nobel prize winners nor did they father the various schools of science

Look up notable christians, jew and muslims and you will find their contributions outweigh that of athiest

not hat belief should matter, because in all of these instances they do not

except to guys will closed minds like yours

Now why don't you show us how not believing has made you a better person because it hasn't made you a better troll

Oh, I get it, you chose the simple list which isn't really science based, but ignored the lengthy list which indicates that the greatest scientists in the recent and present world are atheists. And my mind must be closed because I don't believe in biblical witchcraft and superstition. And, I must be a troll because I dismiss the rantings of biblical nitwits who lived when the world was flat.
Regurgitating drivel manufactured by the ignorant is not my idea of thinking outside the box. But if it gives you comfort, good for you. I find it stultifying.
Maybe you might want to study the second list, and notice all the Nobel prize winners, and pioneering men who discovered the foundation of our modern sciences. You also neglected to point out in your list that some of these people were persecuted by the church for their discoveries,ie, Galileo, and others. Again, science trumps superstition, but I understand your frustration in trying to defend the indefensible. You just can't do it. Does that make you a troll? No. Just in denial, as most who quote the bible as the source of their "evidence". "Well, so and so (insert mythical being of your choice) said this or that, thousands of years ago, so it must be true". "And I have it on good authority that their remarks were quoted, translated, and passed down through the millennia without error, or misinterpretation". After all, it's the "word" of "god".
As Einstein said, "human weaknesses", and "primitive legends". Not trolling, just countering witchcraft and superstition with logic and rationale. I understand that this offends some. Too bad. Their problem. When god appears and, after performing miracles and proving "himself", then I will listen to what "he" has to say. In regards to believing in superstition? Not gonna happen. Believing in nonsense does not make a person better. Just more suggestible.
