Update!

well its been a while since i posted a picture update, im not used to this 12/12 period..... i never have enough time to train, feed, and take photos etc :pointlaug.

here they are as of day 5 of flower with the new screen in place.

im kinda worried im going to overfill the screen seeing as i have so many shoots, i dont know the best way to "weave the plants" into the screen.

thanks all for dropping by
Peace

nice

nice

:woohoo: looking nice buddy, just make sure you fill the screen evenly, just keep the end of the branches under the screen and leave the bud sites they will grow upwards. :joint:

i think he means keep the branches underneath so only the tops get the light.

hey buddy..how are you

thought you might like to see these 2 pics....they were taken by lying on my back and looking up at the underside of my screen

you can see how many branches are trained under the screen and secured with twist ties...and you can also see a few spots of light..but overall it's really a very dense canopy

yea like that lol, just trace the branches horizontaly and the nodes along the branches are the ones they grow through the screen, bringing abundance of buds :D....i only did one scrog from what i can remember it was 9 sq feet 3 plants blueberry lemon skunk mmmmmmmwas nice man.

wow.... thanks action man john

right.... thats what i am doing allthought its not quite that filled at the moment.... im pretty sure it will be tho.... they are quite big already and theres a big difference between night and day temps aswell.... i expect the stretch will be a pain in the ass to control.

i cant quite make out, do you keep all of the branches underneath the screen just moving growing tips from hole to hole as they grow.....
or do you let the branches grow upwards in a hole and then weave it over and then under the screen into the next hole.... if you see what i mean

thanks mtn

well stealth.... one crude drawing can only be beaten by the next.... here is the two options i was trying to get across....

ive opted for the second style but kind of around a wire rather than across two if u get what i mean... i dont really suppose it matters at all what way it is done, as long as there are tips in every hole. i have made a few estimates and i have more tips than holes, do i just double up on a few holes or "selectively remove" certain tips??

photos to follow

hi man lol, the weave would be harder IMO....dont be to worried, just try and keep it neatish and in order :joint: nice pic by the way lol

highya all.....

well, this morning i noticed that temps werent as different as i thought, theres a 6*C difference between night and day, which im quite pleased with.

the stretch didnt seem that great today, but i think because i topped so many times and LST'd during veg i have lots of shoots which the stretch is shared out between.... so maybe i was worried over nothing.

did more weavin' and tyin' and its all starting to fall into place.... i did snap one small branch when putting it into place, but i have just released the strain on it and straightened it out holding it in place using 2 cable ties either side of the break.... should be fine

heres this morning's pic was taken in a bit of a rush before lights out.... day 7 flower. hope ya like

thanks all....

NG2K.... looking good

i would go with the first diagram style till your screen is pretty filled ...then at that point you may have to secure some to the top side of the screen...and always direct your training to fill gaps in the screen coverage

....trim the shit outta those fan leaves...the plants can take it, it will let more light to the lower branches and budsites
it will also make it easier to train...seriously... trim em .. a bunch..like 50% of the fans or better

and as far as the over and under training......i usually let them grow up through the screen and then pull them back under as they grow

once the screen gets kinda crowded...you can train over the screen too
...secure with twist ties...i dont twist them so to speak...i kinda loop them around a few times..just to hold (check my underscreen photo)

heres a pic of trimmed leaves..it's a heaping pile
i usually do about 3-4 trims like this

hey mtnjohn....
yeah.... when i had my mother plant i filled a whole A3 page with leaves, im not afraid to break out the scissors ! i cut a lot of the big ones that were shading new tips this morning. but...is there any point in cutting if the leaves arent shading any growing tips?

as for the twist ties.... im using little 3" cable ties.... just the way i chose to do it.... i thought twist ties might cut into the stem but thats probably only if tied too tightly.

does anyone have any experience with NL? roughly when will the stretch stop, so i know how much training i have to do.

thats what i was wondering too...also how are the stems...stiff or rubbery?

yea..prob no point in cutting if theyre not shading anything....i trim mine anyway
because its easier now to trim them than later....and they seem to put out alot of leaves in the early flower period...lookin good man

well... the younger stems are very rubbery, like you can wrap it round a rod in the screen easily or bend it to a 130* angle. the older ones are a bit thicker so it makes it a bit harder... as i said i broke one of these but it will mend fine.

as for trimming... i think unless the cause a hassle they can stay...

john... when your screen is completely full do u just let them grow upwards (like 2" or so) and leave them to bud?

yeah i would like to know when the initial stretch slows down and when buds start to develop.

is it NL then if so which number, ive got some experience with NL#2which stretched quite a bit in flower but one hell of a smoke.

:wave Ng2k- Looking good

Depending on your strains, most will have a intial stretch lasting around two weeks-some more some less. But its after this intial stretch that flowers will start to form- this is also the time when ya bloom ferts are added.

Oh and try to 'tuck' any leaves that are in the way rather than cutting 'em, but I know sometimes you have go mental with the scissors. Those fans are like solar panels for our plants-we need em.

All The Best and Looking great in there- Hope to catch ya in chat soon mate :D
Guvnah

Ran a couple of seedbanks Nl- found they'll stretch their legs for anything up to 3 weeks, its not a massive stretch-they wont triple on you, but they should easily double. Light intensity could differ this!
