hey man, not too bad thanks.
u take cuts during flower :yoinks: ??? how long do they take to root!? how much screen space do you give each cut then?

Update!

today i turned the lights down to 18/6 as temps have slowly risen since ive installed the 150W..... not as hot as it used to get with the fluoros mind you.... but hot enough!

as i said i topped all the plants for the last time 2 days ago, should be about a week now before i flip the switch. here they are as of 4 weeks veg, really taking hold of the room.... its gonna be one helluva squeeze in there.

Peace

thanks to both of you for chiming in....

after looking at mtnjohn's thread and seeing how little growth he has on the screen before flowering i think i may have to flower sooner than i thought.... other wise i may overgrow the screen.

i do take cuts during flower...but not off of my flowering plants .
i have a veg/clone area where i keep mother plants and i take the cuts from them

they usually take 5-8 days to show roots and another week or so to really have some nice roots hanging

then once in the flower cab...they veg for a week or so and then are flowered
..i really dont have any set limit of space for each plant...i just kinda keep traing them in a spiral sort of fashion, trying to fill the screen as completely
as possible.

some cuttings inevitably grow faster than others so it's hard to have a well defined plan of attack...but like i said ,i just keep training them in a spiral fashion.......it's a learning process and you will get better and better at it the more you do it

ah.... now i see i was shocked when u said u take cuts 3 weeks into flower :pointlaug

ok so they just go how they grow..... but looking at your thread, with the new link :D, they get on average 0.67 sq.ft each. whereas mine will be gettin 0.5 sq.ft each and i have already vegged em for 4weeks. do u think i should be flowering fairly soon?

roughly what height should i set the screen from the lamp? im guessing it would be better to have the screen too close here and raising the light as they bud than having it too far away to start with.

thanks mj

Im no expert but from what ive read, when to flower a SCROG depends on the stretch..im wondering when i should flower my clones if tied to a screen, now ive found this thread maybe things will be more clear. :lurk:

Keep doing what you do, stay safe man. :sasmokin:

you should flower now

the plants start out like this

and as they grow , they are trained under the screen in a spiral fashion
..as they grow the new growth is allowed to grow above the screen and then is pulled under and trained ...

i usually train the plants under the screen for the first week or so of flower
(strain dependent) and then just let them go

i wish i had better pics for you..i will have soon

and btw...your doing a great job..keep up the good work

i would flip those to 12/12 today dude

erm well.... i can switch to 12/12 now, but i havnt got the screen installed yet. should i wait till i put the screen in or flip now and add the screen later..... bearing in mind that they have very recently been topped and the stretch will only start in the new tips. i think i should be alright if i flip now.

by the way, i currently have lights on at 20:00 and off at 14:00 (18/6). my ideal 12/12 schedule would be say on at 22:00 and off at 10:00 for the coolest part of the night and also giving me time to do stuff both morning and night. theres no reason that i cant switch to 12/12 after a 14 hour lights on period is there?
if so, ill set the timer :D:D!!
thanks guys

You should be able to flip the lights at any point in the photoperiod, its only when the bloom hormones are at a critical level that inconsistency of the light/dark period could affect the plants. :joint: :chin:

Good luck dude. :sasmokin:

oh right

well, i can fix it to the walls or the floor. i could hang it from the light, but im guessing that when i move the light up as they bud its going to cause to many problems.
the screen i have got is a stiff wire mesh, it can stretch from wall to wall and i am considering just making it a little concave to match the curvature of the light. the spacing is 40mm (1.6")

i think the best bet would be to make a little frame to go roound the edge of the screen and then prop that up on legs.

Update! Day one of flower

lights turned off at 10.30 this morning, the 12/12 period has begun!

as for the screen, seeing as i already have a good screen i will just bend/cut the steel mesh to fit the room and then rest it on some fixings put into the walls. this will be easier and i will still be able to move it if need be. ill add the screen in about 48 hours which will give the new tips a chance to get some height on them so i can get them trained under the screen properly.

pics will follow in the next few days...
thanks to all for the help up until now..... but now its time for the real show to start
