He still kinda looks the part at 40 but like superx said the athleticism is largely gone now. Messi can still get it done but he’s a few years younger and even he’s lost a big of edge.
Yeah, seems like being a coach of a national team the hardest job is balancing loyalty to veteran/older players vs giving younger/less experienced players more minutes. Finding the right combination of players and strategy on the field is like alchemy, it’s like u have to use your gut/feelings more than brain/logic. I know nunchuks were developed from threshing tools, that farmers would use to beat their rice or wheat crops to separate the grain from the chaff, but how hard can they hit really? I would think just use a club or baseball bat and u could hit harder. A morningstar or flail should hit harder as well.
