Seattle was one penalty away from winning, they got penalized on the cards' FG attempt with 3mins left, giving them a 1st down. Cards got a TD and then stopped SEA and then kicked a game typing FG, forcing OT. If they hadn't gotten penalized for climbing on someone's back trying to block that FG, they still would have been up 7 with the ability to bleed the clock down and force the cards to go for a TD at the end instead of a FG. Ah well.

Falcons should have won, gurley tried to stop himself from scoring a TD but just broke the end zone. Instead of bleeding the clock down and hitting a game winning chippie FG they gave stafford a minute to drive for a TD and the win. In gurley's defense, he broke a tackle and i think his forward momentum was just too much for him to stop. It was surreal though, seeing defenders raise their hands to signal a TD in celebration lol.

Honestly, i dont find listening to games on the radio bad at all, if you have a good imagination you could pretty much picture the action as described. We'll see how they do, hopefully Mack plays...

what a great weekend of games and the fun is just about to start with tonight monday night action
pit knocks off the titans and looked great on both sides of the ball
you are right that claypool had to share receptions but he still looked good
/i would say pit are in the top-5 teams and cant wait to see them play b'more
you are toally right about how the hawks game was decided on a penalty but im totally impressed with the cards play and think k.murray is for real regardless of what i might have said in the past
/the game should not have been even close but them birds can play
zeke got blown up this weekend
dallas has been exposed without prescott and need to give him a big contract if they want to be taken seriously
chargers game was actually very fun to watch with herbert putting together a great second half
not to be outdone, burrow had an even better game but these two guys are balling out of control right now, plus it looks like mia is going to let tua show what he can do the rest of the season
the 9ers picked up another win over ne ;the nfc.w is ready to represent
we will see how the rams do tonight
+6 sounds reasonable; if its s defensive game i can see the score being close but im hoping the rams get hot and can put up points
it comes down to the run game i think and the rams need to get their rb involved

5-2 is money is money in the bank and gojoe might be on to something
i had to stop gambling a long time ago but i still like to follow the action

radio isnt that bad hawk and you can still get high and enjoy the game
i used to listen to baseball a lot and it wasnt that bad when you got into the game
/plus like baba said, having a good imagination dosent hurt
do you get any tv where you are at? or is it the game is only on espn

cant wait for tonight game and with the rams and bears
we made some butter this weekend but i got too tired to do anything with it
its sitting in the fridge and we will probaly make some candy tomorrow night

Diontae johnson was actually the one who got the pts against the titans, claypool had one catch for -2yds, no rush attempts. But Roethlisberger targeted diontae heavily, 15 times, plus diontae actually suffered ANOTHER injury at the end, a bruised ankle. He should be ok for next week but any game diontae plays in full, claypool’s targets will suffer. Nice thing about claypool is he usually gets rush attempts too, sometimes in the red zone, although he didn’t get a carry vs the titans.
Murray outplayed Wilson last night, had 4 tds (1 rush) and 1 int to wilson’s 3tds and 3 ints. He’s actually been money in fantasy too with all his scoring, passing and running. Dude is tied for the league lead in rush td’s with 7, that’s a 16td pace for the season, cam has the record for QB rush td's with 14 in 2011, his rookie year.
Burrow has balled out in his 2 games vs Cleveland, but against better defenses (myles garrett destroys lineman like aaron donald but overall browns aren’t a great D) he doesn’t do nearly as well. Herbert meanwhile has put up pts vs tompa and new orleans, 2 pretty decent D’s, especially the Bucs. Herbert's on a better team overall though, but im impressed with his athleticism, he had a 35yd scramble and led the team in rushing vs the jags.
I actually think Tua has mahomes-like potential, his arm is that good. And he’s a pretty decent athlete as well, not big but mahomes isnt a big guy either. If he can just stay healthy he should do well, but he couldn’t even take hits in the SEC how’s his body going to hold up in the NFL?
Ur right, rams offense does function best when they can grind out positive yards on the ground and goff can pass out of play action. Bears do have a pretty good run D tho so goff is going to be forced to make some plays from the pocket; he’s got 3-4 good targets with woods, kupp, Higbee and either Henderson out of the backfield or Everett or Reynolds. It’ll be a chess match for sure and if goff has time he’ll slice up the bears D, question is how consistently he can do that? I think he'll hit a big play here or there but the bears will be able to keep them out of the end zone.
With the AZ win last night, Gojoe’s picks are now 5-3, and if the bears lose by 7 or more tonite it’ll be 5-4. But still, those picks right now are guaranteed to have a winning record, and if the bears cover the spread it’ll be 6-3 instead of 5-4. So cross your fingers and hope I don’t end up behind the arby’s this week.

I still have to buy some tamales Hawk I keep forgetting. Let us know how your frozen ones turn out, if u like them I might buy a bag myself. Is that garlic chili sauce the Lao Gan Ma brand? I know someone who is mini obsessed with that stuff. Not sure how it’d be on Mexican food, think I’d almost prefer taco bell sauce packets instead (of which I have a whole Ziploc full as a backup if I ever run out of salsa or taco sauce).
Also, for MNF, I think locally you don’t need ESPN, my buddy didn’t have cable and would watch the bears on MNF on channel 50, which is WPWR. Now I think it’s on digital channel 50.1, or 24.7. He was able to get it 40miles north of the city. Are you able to get some decent channels over an antenna in your area, abc nbs cbs etc? Even if youre near packer land or IA they might show the bears game locally if youre considered in the broadcast area...

I'm not on to something because the week is 5-4, though 3-1 with the best. The close picks I didn't mention this week that did bad last week did a lot better. And 3-3-1 with college ball. That's how it's supposed to turn out across the board - I think Vegas is under 47% for the NFL year, I'm usually 52-53% across the board when I check that in college. It's supposed to come out in the middle and some teams this week I nailed exactly (broken clock), some were close, some were way off. The Jets remain completely predictable.

If you knew Buffalo (30 completions, 2 sacks) would score 6 times and NYJ (12 completions, 6 sacks) would score twice, wouldn't you like the spread and maybe the over? When was the last time a team even made 6 FG's? NYG was the same, they shouldn't have been close, looking at stats other than the score. Seattle started going exactly like I thought it would, with the field goal and the TD and they win by 6. Holding? On a receiver.

Dallas doesn't need to buy QB's and they definitely don't need damaged QB's that were already set to be way overpaid. They'll just get mowed down until they have protection. Wasn't that what Dallas was, back in gloryhole days. Yes they're injured but so is half the league. Linemen are supposed to have backups. Not only are there more and more injuries but they keep getting worse in these safety culture times.

Ugh, maybe it’s better you didn’t watch that game, Hawk. So frustrating. Thought I was kidding when I old Pop rams by 20, but damn if LA wasn’t up 21 in the 4th. A defensive TD closed it to within 2 scores but that’s it, Foles’s 2nd int and a TO on downs sealed the loss. The bears got a few stops but that rams had almost 400yds of offense, bears just couldn’t get them off the field enough. Credit to Mcvay who kept goff moving around the pocket and mixing in quick throws to negate the bears pass rush. Mack forced a fumble and had a sack but that was the bears’ only one, while the rams picked up 4 sacks. And that rams game grounded out some tough yards (malcolm brown powering down to the goal line on one impressive run) and found seams to pick up chunk yards at times; rams had 160 rush yds to the bears 50. Just not a competitive game at all, and in the 2nd half felt I like throwing the remote at the tv.

5-4 seemed to be your worst week so far this season, Gojoe, as far as the NFL goes. So like u said, pretty impressive when vegas experts aren’t even 50% on the year. Who’s the best handicapper in history? Jimmy the Greek? Just kidding…

When you put it like that, the bills should have killed the jets, and they did hold NY to 4 total yds (!) in the 2nd half. Yeah, not sure what went on with their offense to be held to 6 FG’s, but give credit to the Jets D I guess, maybe there were some weird penalties that killed drives. Plus they missed 2 FGS (37 and 45 yarder) that were makeable, one more FG would have covered the spread but that’s fools-ball for you…
Yeah, Metcalf had a 45yd td reception called back in OT for holding, which to be honest seemed like a good call (defender was in front of Metcalf and got turned around by the hold). But that would have covered the spread too if the defender wasn’t held and Metcalf slipped the ensuing tackle.
Hehe, r u a cowboys hater? Sick and tired of “america’s team”? I honestly don’t have a bone to pick with them, they really haven’t been contenders since the 90’s but I can see why people get tired of hearing about them even when theyre bad. They’re also 0-7 against the spread this year, which is the worst in 15yrs, so a lot of gamblers are sick of their shit for the same reason: too much hype for a craptacular team.

Yeah, glad I didn't watch that game.i knew the Rams were gonna win.but my buddy and I kept it chill in the mancave drinking and smoking.im sure I would of got mad if I watched it.and now the bears gotta play the saints.honestly surprised they got this far.

And I'll admit I'm a cowboys hater.i can't stand it when someone who doesn't watch or know shit about football is a cowboy fan.its insulting to the sport.ugh maybe I'm just in a bad mood.fucking bears.

The chili sauce I got has a rooster and says Vietnam but says made in USA.its good.nothing fancy but decent enough.i gotta take stomach pills before I can eat it.its got the right kick to taste ratio

The tamale brand is Supreme which I just found out is manufactured in Elk Grove.they are ok.way better than Hormel.i found some Tapatio hot sauce and chili sauce.its not bad but needs cheese or something.i don't know what a real tamale should taste like but I'd give it a try baba.it was like 10 for $10 or something like that at Walmart

that sounds like the siracha sauce
tapatio is decent mexican hot sauce and if you can find a brand called cholula try thattoo; it has decent heat but brings that garlic taste with other flavors
we get tamales from costco sometimes and they come out pretty good
if you microwave them be sure to wrap them in wet paper towels
hope you can get back online soon man, this is where the season starts getting good

im bringing arbys home for dinner tonight! i cant believe how the rams/ bears game went last night
i thought the bears would have put up more points early but the rams defense came to play; now they need to bring that heat the rest of the season
im surprised at how well the rams offense was able to move the ball against a decent defense
like you said baba, the short passing game kept the bears on their heels
the run game looked good and there was that pile moving play that really put a spark in the team
the 9ers picked up a big win against the pats and the cards knocked off seattle so the rams are keeping step with a tough division, but we need to be able to win against the big boys if this season is going to go anywhere

enjoy those tamales!

Bears O-line is crap, as bad as last year’s. And Nagy isn’t helping with his play calling. Why does he keep lining up cordarelle Patterson at RB and gave him 3 carries for 1 yd total last night? When Patterson was on the patriots 2 years ago they gave him a few carries and he did well but that was with an actual good O-line, even David Montgomery who’s tough to bring down couldn’t do much against the rams, averaged like 3yd/carry. Also i think foles said or the analysts said that everytime nagy calls for a 5-7 step dropback foles knows it's not going to work cause he wont have the time before a pass rusher's in his face.
Bears O managed 3 pts and the D outscored the offense (fumble return for a TD). Rams rushed 34 times and passed 33 times and josh Reynolds led them in receiving and had a TD so goff did a good job spreading it around and both Henderson and brown averaged 4+ yds per carry. A good all around performance against a tough defense, helped by the fact that they were playing with a lead the whole game.
Srichacha is a good hot sauce, I tend to associate it with Asian food, but I can see it being good on a lot of stuff. For American type foods (pizza, eggs, etc) I prefer Louisiana style hot sauce or tabasco. I bought a bottle of the original cholula, Pop, it was ok, like a generic Mexican hot sauce, think maybe I should try their chipotle or sweet habanero or green pepper for a different sort of flavor.
I think Supreme brand tamales are machine-extruded tamales, basically machine made ones. I remember one time when I was a kid having a frozen bag of those and I didn’t like them, the spices in the meat filling sort of reminded me of dog/cat food. Not that Ive ever had pet food, but the smell/taste was just a little off for me, like nothing ive experienced in other food. But ive more recently had one and it was ok, still not great but nothing compared to a real homemade tamale you can get at Mexican restaurant, or street vendor or street market. If they could put real chicken in machine extruded tamales that would be fire, i just dont like that cheap ground beef mix and spices they put in, and im someone who likes taco bell ground beef lol.

How was the arby’s Pop? I got the 2 for 6 deal a while ago, the gyros were alright, people keep saying how good they are and for $3 each theyre not bad but nothing like a real gyro, which might be 3x the price but also 3x the meat.
This upcoming week kicks off with atlanta at Carolina on TNF, neither are great teams (especially atlanta which finds new ways to lose every week) but might be entertaining if it's high scoring. Sunday Pitt vs Balt looks like the most competitive game, with niners at seattle also a good one. Rams play at Miami, it’ll be the first look at Tua, hopefully Donald doesn’t break him. Saints play in Chicago, I agree with Hawk, cant see Chicago being competitive in that one either. Ah well…

No,its not Sriracha sauce.its real chili sauce with pepper flakes.i think the rooster is kinda universal or something.ive seen a few different brands use the rooster.and yeah I like Cholula sauce pops.i can't really do spicy anymore.it sucks.cholula isn't spicy.

Those supreme tamales are machine made.they are made in Elk Grove IL.they were nothing special.maybe with some melted cheese and enchilada sauce they could be decent.the Arby's by me is fucking bullshit.i went there to try the new prime rib cheese steak or whatever it's called and there was almost no meat at all.like none.i should of took it back.payed like 7 bucks or something just for the sandwich.i was mad.and I like Arby's too.but now I'll make sure to order extra meat from now on

I think we're the same Hawk, even a little bit of spice will make me sweat. Even some tabasco or louisiana hot sauce will make me sweat, and those are considered pretty mild sauces. Buffalo wild wings has this new reaper blazing sauce to replace their old blazing sauce, i heard it had more flavor and less heat, man after 3 wings my face would be red and dripping. Honestly not a pleasant experience when food is that spicy lol.
I think hot dog joints around here often sell a 'mother in law', which is a tamale topped with chili in a hot dog bun. You can get it chicago-style too, with mustard, relish, pickles, tomatoes slices, onions and sport peppers on top of the chili and tamale. Im not sure if i've ever had one, but like u said, no matter how bad a factory made tamale is, you top it with enough stuff you'll hardly taste it lol.

I almost never take fast food back either, part of it is that it's not really 'fast' if you gotta waste time going back and getting it remade, part of me also thinks the workers might grumble and spit in my food for complaining, haha. Maybe thats being too cynical tho.

So like u said, pretty impressive when vegas experts aren’t even 50% on the year.

If their handicapping system works it will be 50% ATS and O/U every week. The secret for the bettor is separating the most likely to cover from the least likely. Sometimes there isn't a choice. I like GB, BUF, LV, NO, and LAC's number yesterday but they have injuries. PIT is not as healthy and rested, and DET of course Detroits easily, so they're only slightly more attractive. I'd burn $100 on PHI at home if the pussies didn't take it off the board. Fitz to Tua is only a downgrade of 3 pts. says the books, I want no first start action but it sounds dubious. That leaves ATL, TEN, KC, and TAM as the best bets by default.

Jerry hasn't made a good decision since before hiring Switzer. That's just how it is.

Tapatio is nicotine. Valentina extra hot is crack.

i had to lay off the hot sauces too as i got older
growing up i could eat fire but now its just not worth it
the mrs still likes things hot so we have a few around the house but i stick with the weak stuff
i like the tabasco sauce on some things, but the flavor profile is more a sour/ hot kind of taste
its great on certain things but other times you want a different taste
thats why i like the cholula, its more garlic and onions with some chili in it
my mom has these asian spicy sauces like the one you mention, hawk
where its just chili seeds and red evil in a jar; they tent to be sure hot and she uses them in dishes when she cooks, not like a condiment from what i see
maybe what you got is something different
the tamales sound interesting and i would try them, but like baba says, fresh tamales are on a whole other level
i would totally try that hot dog tamale
rams/ fins should be a fun game and its on at 10a west coast
i like the early day games because they give me the rest of the afternoon to mess around
excited about the pitt/ b.more game too; two of the best team in the league with hugely different styles of qb
will also be keeping an eye on browns v raiders and the 9ers seahawks

This is the stuff.the flavor is so damn good but it's pretty hot.not the hottest thing I ever had but I have to take stomach pills before I eat it.its not sriracha.this stuff is kinda chunky like salsa.i can't imagine cooking with it but I bet it would be good with wings.the Tapatio is ok.it tastes like a Mexican sauce.ill have to try that Valentina.never seen it though.not a big Tabasco fan anymore but I like there jalapeno sauce.

The label is the same because it's the same company that makes sriracha - which I don't care for, along with Tabasco and Cholula. Valentina should be everywhere next to wherever the Tapatio is, they're both very popular in Mexico, and Valentina is imported from there yet comes in huge bottles that are dirt cheap. Mexicans like the original version but make some extra hot for gringos, which of course I prefer. The hot version is not as hot as Tapatio, and it seems to have dill where Tapatio has cumin. So an Arby's Q for the olds. It was my favorite but I haven't been there since 83 or so, didn't have money. Saw the ads years ago 5 roast beefs for 5.55 and figured, things have probably changed and maybe it's best not to spoil the memories. Then they jacked the prices. Is Arby's a different thing for a different generation now?

Yeah, that pretty much looks like a type of sriracha, i guess it's called rooster sauce in vietnam cause it always has an image of a rooster on it. Wonder what that's about?
But Huy Fong makes the classic sriracha bottle with the green tip, despite its name i think their sauce is produced in Cali. But there's a lot of other brands too, and if theyre made the same they probably taste pretty similar.
My buddy, as he got older he suffers from heartburn, avoids spicy food especially late at night (laying down to sleep brings up all that stomach acid), also has to take antiacids if he eats them. Didnt notice that until i had dinner with him a while ago, not that we ever ate a lot of spicy foods before but taking antiacids was a new thing. It's not uncommon either, my mom i think uses antiacids a lot and she never eats anything spicy.
Tapatio and valentina are good but imo are your basic Mexican hot sauce, good in a pinch but im spoiled by those fresh made green and red sauces that they give you in mexican restaurants. Theyre chunky and seedy and imo have a better flavor profile but theyre not going to last months in your fridge like a shelf stable sauce would. I might have to try that valentina extra hot GJ, if it's really that good. Dont mind a good bit of heat if the flavor is there, that's why i like habanero sauces, theyre hotter but imo have more flavor.

Some people dont like vinegar based hot sauces, Pop. They want the heat but not the vinegar taste, but i actually kind of like it, i think it complements the pepper taste pretty well. And in general using any of these sauces in cooking, the heat of the cooking releases the capsicum in the peppers and will make it hotter. I think one time i made some ramen with sriracha, i didnt use that much but it was surprisingly spicy.
I thought 830am london games were too early for me but 10am sounds about right, you can sleep in a bit on sunday and still have some time to get ready in the morning, cook and stuff, and then put the games on. Only issue is if youre ordering in food a lot of places might not be open till later, especially on sunday. But yeah, being able to be done with the games by 4pm, and sunday night football by 8pm, that's a plus as well, get to go to bed at a decent hour.
Im going to have to try one of those mother in laws next time im in the city, dont know if ive ever had one. Will be sure to post pics. It looks gloriously messy and unhealthy, even with the veggies, but yknow, might be good stoner or hangover food.

Do you try to get into the early lines Gojoe, before they start moving? I think the money lines start going up just as soon as the team's last game is played, so sunday for most teams. I think Philly's line was favored by -3.5 and swung to -7 and is back at -3.5? Seems to me that lines swing about a pt or 2 usually, not 3.5 and back again. Is that the smart money (whales) moving those lines or just a bunch of drunk eagles fans?
I guess the thing with considering the odds is that you can always talk yourself into one position or another, lol. Doesnt mean youre always right of course, but you have to have some logical reasoning going into real world decisions. Have you ever heard of the OODA loop? It's a decision making process invented by this air force colonel, where you observe-orient-decide-act. Orient is the most important stage, where you have to change your tactics or assumptions if what you've observed isnt fitting in with your earlier OODA loop. So for example, if someone thinks "Well dallas still has elite WRs and RB and dalton is ok then they can still score pretty well" and now, after a game and a half, your new orientation might be "Dallas's offense is crap, the leagues worst team last year let dalton go, their OL is mostly 2nd stringers, Zeke looks terrible, mccarthy isnt that good either, gotta fade these guys". Or something like that, but i'd imagine to be a successful gambler you have to be light on your feet, so to speak, ready to change your assumptions as necessary...

I do like Tompa over giants by 10.5, bucs are firing on all cylinders, their D is great and daniel jones remains a turnover machine. Philly over dallas by -3.5 at home seems like easy money considering the dumpster fire that's dallas (what'd you say, a dumpster filled with burning diapers, it's not just burning garbage it's burning shit lol). Chargers favored by -3 at Denver also seems like a win given how herbert is rolling. Pack over vikes by -6.5 seems easy, i think 3 of the vikes starting DBs are hurt and they were trash to begin with, cant imagine their backups would be an improvement. Buffalo at home by -3.5 over the trash heap that is the Pats seems like a good bet also, pats OL is trash, WRs too, RBs are decent but cam looks like he's got wuhan brain fog his mechanics are so bad, under and overthrowing receivers. Bills D might be improving and their O isnt playing that great but maybe this is a get right game for them, belichick is great but even he cant turn chicken shit into chicken salad. That KC hosting the Jets line (chiefs by 19.5!) seems ridonkculous at first but the fins beat them by more than that and theyre still rebuilding. I could see the chiefs being up by 20 at halftime alone.

Call me skeptical but im kind of sort of thinking Tua might surprise some people. If they can keep donald off his back he's got an arm on him, even when he was a freshman at bama i thought his throws were precocious, just quick and accurate, hitting receivers perfectly in stride. We'll see, it's not ideal he's facing a top 5 defense in LA but he's had 2 weeks to prepare...

EDIT: I remember those 5 roast beefs for $5 or $5.55 lol. Dang, havent seen those prices in what, 10-20 years? Arby's was fire back in the day, they'd have the meat slicer in the store and slice roast beef for sandwiches to order but i havent actually had an arbys roast beef in ages, the one in my hometown closed years ago. But i imagine if they still slice meat in the store should still be good, not sure it's early 80's good, if anything i'd imagine they cook the beef in some factory and then ship them vac sealed to the stores and slice them there. But ill give it a shot too sometime in the near future and will give you my honest opinion. I know the gyros i wasnt impressed with but it was more lack of meat than the actual meat itself, which was ok, but for someone who can get real kronos gyro meat slices in the freezer section at the grocery i wasnt as impressed.

Do you try to get into the early lines

It depends. I have to travel. They often move in my direction over time. The sharp advice is early, and my experience is late. Yes, vinegar is the thing I don't like there, but it's more about my tastes being those of the supertaster. Apparently we don't make good chefs for the rest of the world.

thats funny gojoe mentions supertasters
i have a pretty good sence of taste and used to be able to tell you just about all the ingredients in a recipe after a couple tastes
let me take home a small portion and i could recreate a dish almost perfectly
i still have a good sense of taste but i dont eat hot stuff anymore and am drunk a lot so it kind of throws things off

the thing with the southern style hot sauce is it has a bit of salt in it too so its more like a salt/ vinegar flavor with some heat on it
its not as refined as some of the other sauces mentioned
there is another brand i see a lot on the tables around here called el pato
/the duck
its decent but again its all about what you are looking for
you are so right baba about how nothing compares to the fresh they have at most mex joints
they usually have a couple heat levels/flavor profiles they make and the tomatillo sauce around here (the green stuff)
/sometimes the green stuff is agaucate
but a good hot sauce is part of the taqueria experience and some palces used to take pride in their salsa bars
/another good sign is they will have pickled carrots and grilled onions/ peppers
ready for this weekends games and cant wait to watch rams v the fins
/hopefully the rams make a move early so i can flip between the pitt game too
plus we turn the clocks back so we get that extra hour to pre game
