I am going to meet my friend and go to lunch in a little while. I searched for best burgers in town looking for spots that are close to his house. This sandwich caught my eye while checking the menu, and I thought of @pop_rocks .

Shaved and bulgogi marinated ribeye grilled with red onions, sliced jalapenos topped with mayo, marinated cucumbers, melted Monterey Jack, kimchi, and toasted sesame seeds.

wowwie zowwie!
bulgogi is awesome and it taste great in a sandwich
i like the add of the red onions, cucumbers (they give it a light fresh taste)and the kimchi
/hold on to your hat brother
i would ask them to hold the jalapenos but thats just because i have a baby stomach now
let us know how it tastes!

i recall your dolphin story!
dolphins look so adorable on the tv screen but when you are in water over your head with a 200# animal it not so cute
ive never touched a wild dolphin nor would i want to

That dog story is so cool, Buzz. Wallace, huh? Is that from the claymation series, Wallace and Gromit?
Stories like that make me think there is a God. And then i watch the bears play and think, either there is no God or if there is He hates me and my team.

Im not as cynical as Hawk is tho, Ive got some high hopes for the season. Gotta give the rookie QB a chance. We've suffered through the Trubisky and Fields years, third time's (third 1st rd pick on a QB in the last 8 yrs) the charm right?

Happy bday, DB. Post pics of ur party at Dunkin tomorrow, hope it's a good time. Do they sell bday cake donuts at dunkies?

I just want to see Stetson play a bit, he might be like a poor man's Brock Purdy, undersized, lowly drafted QB who in the right situation gets the ball to his playmakers and has an offense humming.
I think ur right about Fat stafford, he's got a big face and his facial features (eyes mouth nose) are kind of small for his head size. But i can tell he definitely slimmed down, u can see it in his belly if not his face so much.

He was around 220lbs during their super bowl run 2 years ago, down from 235 in his early detroit years. He looks even slimmer now.

I probably need to get a shelter dog for my next dog as well, too many abandoned dogs in need of a good home. Most of them tend to be pit mixes tho, good dogs but large and strong.

Speaking of Hawk Tua (too bad he wasnt drafted by the seahawks, missed a once in a lifetime branding collaboration there) he signed a 4 yr deal, 53M/yr, about 3 years guaranteed yesterday. Jordan Love of the packers signed a 4yr, 55M/yr, around 3yrs guaranteed deal later that day. They share the same agent so im sure he had a crazy day yesterday and is probably smoking a cigar and sipping cognac now.

It's been a while since youve been to famous dave's, Hawk, nice to see the deals are still around. Im pretty sure bbq chips are house made potato chips covered in their bbq rub. Maybe it's a large portion for 410 cals, get it next time let us know, but also once u start deep frying stuff the cal's add up fast. Fat has over twice the calories of protein or carbs per gram, so high fat diets tend to make u gain weight, and the reverse is true as well.

i think stetson is on the bubble now esp with the addition of porno garappolo
/bennet is on his last year and jimmy.g is only signed to a one year deal
im hoping $tafford can hang in there a couple more years to let the rams transition to a new qb
i like tua and think the fins were smart to sign him to a longer term deal
the next big signing has to be dak...right?
/does jerraahhh believe in to resign? and what would his true value be as a fa? im kind of underwhelmed at his performance over the years culminating with last years loss to gb
/hence love getting the love
its hard to out hawk @shithawk420
hes just always pissed and angry! but beneath that crust is a cool guy
i think the nail painter is the best qb prospect the bears have seen since ...
/not going to post mcmahon dance*
they also brought in looney tunes" k.allen
i just dont see a rb on the roster but maybe im missing something
i dont see the bears winning this season but i could see them turning it around and having something they could build on

what about det and my boy goof @G.O. Joe

*hahhhah f'yeah i am

Lays label seen just the other day said over 1/3 of the weight of their plain ol plain plain is fat. For months all the health news is "ultra" processed foods like it's the processing, when the problem is salt, fat, carbs, and calories as always. Don't call bullshit on the safety of sugar substitutes and additives.

You fancy pants with your complicated shoes and coffee and sandwiches and gourmet sauce-holding penisini. All I want is french bread with iceberg lettuce, roast beef, oil and vinegar and oregano every day. Delis have to fuck up even this simple thing by substituting good bread and beef for adding onions and tomato and whatever else it takes to be anti-Epicurian.

There must be someone out there who's keeping track of how NFL players perform in the year after getting The Big Contract. My guess is worse, at least 2/3 of the time. Goff got...$170M guaranteed.

Some highly paid players can't even make it through or to a day of camp now, Dak had a walking boot which of course is absolutely nothing to be concerned about for the season, he'll be great when he's running around taking hits. It's funny how everyone was saying he wasn't worth his first Big Deal, now everyone thinks Jerry is retarded for not paying him earlier, like if he sucks this season his price is $60M a year or OH NO he might walk. Fade material abounds.

YES! the fade is on with dak and i would let him walk next season unless he absolutely goes bonkers
/he wont
and like you said @60m/season (and you know hes going to want at least a four or five year deal, much of it guaranteed!) i would take a hard pass on that one
im leaning into goof this year and think the lions are a top contender in the nfc
one thing i have learned is that it pays to wear good shoes, even if they dont look stylish
/ they support your feet better and stand up to wear and tear
hahah its like you are readying my mind and now i want sandwiches!
im going to go back to vons and get another of those giant sandwiches tomorrow
/for $10 its a deal
they had different ones i think so maybe i will have to see if they have a roast beef

The sandwich was delicious. The kimchi was not blazing hot. It was spicy warm. Jalapenos are no big deal for my guts these days. The meat portion was generous and I ordered the Apple slaw with Ja;apeno slices. Two pints of beer one of them the Abita Amber Lager and the other Smitty's Lager brewed in Pensacola. That one had flower notes and it was OK but not as the Abita.
Wallace, huh? Is that from the claymation series, Wallace and Gromit?
That may have been the inspiration because years before Wallace (the first) our friends had a brown Lab named Gromit. When Wallace (the second) made his first vet visit I told her the story from the shelter and she started to cry. She asked me if I could change his name so I said, "His name is Wallace Franklin." The shelter is in Franklin County and the litter of five pups were abandoned during a tropical storm. I made up a little intro for Wallace Franklin. "Hi, my name is Wallace Franklin from Franklin County but you can call me Wallace."
Here are three of the five pups from the litter. My friend I went to lunch with adopted Luck who is on the left. Wallace Franklin is center and Bonnie is on the right.

I would touch one again because of the unexpected warmth and silky smoothness of their skin. Grabbing one felt like I had hold of a power way beyond any big fish I handled. I would NOT do that again.

No, ur good Hawk (should we start calling YOU Hawk Tuah?), being cynical about the Bears' chances is a defense mechanism, it's better for our mental health because we all know theyll disappointment is inevitable.

Good BBQ has gotten so expensive these days, like so much else. Have you been grilling much? Have u used the kettle grill to smoke anything? Pops often uses a small kettle to smoke ribs.

Korean bulgogi is great on rice, the one time i had it on a sandwich it was a wet mess. There's too much sauce that comes with it, if they cook it like a philly steak where it's just juicy from the fat then it should be good. Did u try it, Buzz?
EDIT: yeah, that sandwich looks good, it's listed under 'cheesesteaks' so it's a korean version of a philly cheesesteak. Kimchi could have used a touch more time on the flattop imo but my only other complaint is it should be bigger. And apple jalapeno slaw as a side? No fries? Sad. Are you on a diet?

Youve never had house made potato chips at a restaurant, Pops? They have some machine back there that will shave a potato into thin slices, a quick dunk in the fryer and voila potato chips (that would be crisps in the UK, superx).

Stetson has 3 yrs left on his 4yr rookie deal so he'll be with the rams for a while unless his 'problems' pop up again.
Garapollo would have been a really good backup 2 yrs ago but last yr coming off shoulder surgery and this year with a 2 game PED suspension, maybe his arm is shot and he's using roids/hgh to get it back again, like peyton with the broncos.

Hawk Tua's and Jordan Love's contract were both 4 yr deals, 3 yrs guaranteed, i think both sides wanted 4 instead of 5 yr deals because if they perform well the QBs can sign another huge deal before theyre 30 and if they suck the teams can move on after 3 yrs.

Love potato chips, GJ, could eat like half a big bag in one sitting but like u said, 33% of the calories from being deep fried is not ideal.
I like ur fairly plain roast beef sandwich, could u eat that everday, GJ?
Dak is on the last yr of his 40M/yr deal, was 3rd in pass yds behind Tua and Goff(!), 1st in TDs with 36 (Love was 2nd with 32) and only had 9 ints. Iirc from fantasy football, he had an average start to the season but absolutely lit it up the 2nd half, averaging like 3tds/game. Is he worth 60M/yr? Looking at his playoff record, NO. But he also has a big cap hit this year so they might extend him just to reduce that number.

Did u find ur wallet, Hawk? I havent lost mine in ages, knock on wood, i think that's gotta suck.

Those pups look like the bestest boys (and girl), Buzz. Nice to know they still see each other sometimes and still get along. How old is Wallace Franklin now? He looks young and skinny in that pic, and i know lab mixes tend to pack on weight as they get older.

How'd it go with ur bday party at Dunkies, DB? Arent u supposed to cut out the fatty foods because ur cholesterol is that of an obese man waiting for a heart attack to happen? Not sure a frappacino and deep fried donuts are going to help u but it is ur bday i guess...

Superx, im going to try to find a stream of the irish football championship this am, not having high hopes since most of the euro sports stream sites are olympics focused right now but ill let u know either way.

would you like some cheese gromit?
those all look like great dogs! and i bet each one was its own kind of fun
oh wow man, that is a nice looking sandwich! like some kind of kimchi cheese steak
i like the add of the apple slaw as a side too and a couple local beers
/i love cole slaw and local beers
yeah man, good kimchi is not spicy hot, and like you said is just warming (i like that description) but bring enough to wake up the flavors around it
but i would still have to avoid the jalapenos; i just dont have the stomach for hot like i used to

stats are one thing but daks history in the playoffs leaves a lot to be desired
you are right that bennet has a couple years left on his deal, we will see how he does with unnamed problems and i cant wait to see some preseason action where it will be him and jimmy'g shooting it out
you are talking to a guy who had a mandoline and the first thing i did was slice potatoes as thin as i could a deep fry them, light sprinkle of salt and dip the in castup
they were awesome but unless you are loading them up with all kind of toppings dont see how they could have that many kcals
so did you find a stream of the irish football? im watching mens swimming right now and i know telemundo has me covered with the flip ball

Oh sure rain on the hate parade with facts. Rayne Dakota is great, at padding his stats against shit teams not from AZ. He's 4th in attempts so he better have a lot of yards and all. He is improving - he hasn't lead the NFL in fumbles for a while. If he can do it all again this year and the NFL continues to reward players who can't get a playoff win with obscene piles of cash, then OK pay that man his money. The whole league should consider honoring their fucking contracts and wait for the end of the term before demanding more more more.
