Haha yeah, bears pick turned out bad, I only put a few bucks on it, but a friend of mine put $100 on them. He was super pissed.
Hawk is right, justin fields did not look good at all, threw a pick 6 and lost a fumble, most of his completed passes were under 5 yds, could not complete anything in the intermediate range 10-20yds. It was close at halftime but 2nd half packers opened it up, aaron jones abused our LB’s (I had a bet his receiving yds being over so that was good) and Fields’ turnovers hurt us.

I didn’t see the rams game but both tutu and puka had over 100yds receiving, and they ran the ball 40x and passed 38x, had a 2-1 time of possession advantage and held seattle to under 200yds of offense while putting up 425 yds. That was a pretty surprising road win but like I said earlier the rams play the hawks tough. U think they can continue this sort of balanced play throughout the season, Pops? I think I took the over on 6.5 wins for them.

Yeah the mike williams that got injured on a construction site was a WR for the bucs back about 10 yrs ago, had a couple decent seasons (almost 1k yds, 10tds seasons) but hasn’t been in the nfl since 2014. I guess he was working construction when he got hit by a steel beam. He made about 12M in career earnings, not sure why he was working construction unless it’s his own company, maybe he blew through his money fast.

That pastichio is some good stuff, Pops, very hearty like u said. With the noodles and the cheese sauce and meat u can eat a smallish piece of it and be full for hours.

That looks like a decent haul for $35, Hawk. The tac vest is a little over the top, doesn’t look like any of the pouches are removable. What r u going to put in there? Lot of magazines and… pens and stuff? Ive heard of the cold steel brand, they make carbon steel swords right? That spring loaded knife sounds semi-legal, I’d be cautious carrying that around outside ur home, cops will try all sorts of ways to get u in trouble for carrying knives.

Ur right Pops, giants fans must be as pissed as bears fans after that performance last night. But at least they made the playoffs last yr.
Hopefully tonite's Bills at Jets game is better, get to see Rodgers vs Allen, Jets D vs Bills O, hopefully it's a close game.

That’s a good idea, u can sell the stuff and get ur money back. The tac vest would be good for tools, sure, and maybe better than a tool belt since the weight is on ur shoulders not ur waist. Not sure if u can hang a drill from it, maybe put the holster back on and use it for a drill?
I think my buddy made some good $$ betting on coach prime (university of colorado) the last couple of weeks. He’s a huge bears fans and had high hopes for the season but the bears came out flat. In Fields’ defense several other QBs had bad week 1’s, including joe burrow (highest paid player in the league), daniel jones, kirk cousins, geno smith… even pat mahomes didn’t put up good stats but that’s mostly his receivers’ fault.
Hopefully Fields and dj moore will bounce back next week vs the bucs, if not maybe they can start playing the backup, tyson bagent, see what they have in him.

Yeah Pops, stafford still makes a lot of experts’ top 10 QB lists so people who know know he’s a franchise QB. And he led some pretty bad lions teams to the playoffs even without elite WR help, calvin johnson retired like 8 years ago.

Love a good stuffed grape leaf, Pops. I think dolmeh (dolma) refers to all the stuffed food in European/middle eastern cuisine. I guess the rouladen Hawk was trying to make is the same thing but using meat instead of cabbage/leaves to roll them up in. Hey Hawk, u been making anything good lately? i made a pork tenderloin,potatoes and carrots in the crockpot the other day.it was ok but i forgot the onions.think ive made cabbage rolls.dont remember.ive made lettuce wraps witch are ok.little bland without some kinda sauce.i wanna get a burrito or tacos from the place down the street but ive been spending too much eating out and i havent eaten much the past few days.havent drank in a few days either.gotta start saving.took the dog to the vet and other things.spent like $400 in alcohol last month.god i was plowed last month

Justin herbert put up less than 250yds and 1td vs the Phins but overall the chargers scored 34pts, they ran 40x for 234 yds so were content to grind out possessions. Their new Off Coordinator, kellen moore, was known for having Dak take a lot of downfield shots but miami took that away I guess and they had to pivot.

So Jets won last night on a walk off punt return TD in overtime, forced josh allen into 4 turnovers but still feels like they lost. Aaron rodgers tore his achilles 4 snaps into his Jets career, what a gut punch that must be for jets fans. Any jets fans here btw?
I was actually looking forward to rodgers on the jets, I drafted garrett wilson in one of my leagues and was fully expecting a top 3 WR season from him. Now, with zach wilson at QB, not so much…

I might pick up that jets safety that picked off allen 3x in my one league that rosters Individual defensive players. Not that i expect int's all the time but like u said Pop that jets D is no joke, if the corners can blanket their guy then he can swoop in for game changing plays, maybe get some forced fumbles.
It's confirmed he tore his achilles, is that one year minimum recovery? I think kevin durant the basketball player was out 18-19 months (May 2019 - Dec 2020) when he tore his achilles, but maybe as a QB he wont run and jump as much as most bball players. Although mobility is one of his strengths, if he's much less mobile after the injury he's going to get hit even more plus he's 40 on top of that.

Zach wilson threw a pick last night but also threw a TD, he's got some arm talent like u mentioned so as long as he doesnt have to read defenses too much maybe they can still make the playoffs.

Im always in the mood for tacos, any good deals for taco tuesday or u just going to a local taco truck?

i cant remember exactly what i seasoned with but i used papricka,salt,pepper,garlic powder you know,the usual suspects.i have some korean bbq seasoning i should of used.i opened a can of Progresso broccoli cheddar soup and mixed a bowl of the left over pork and potatoes and it was pretty good.
you get those enchiladas and tacos pops?wouldnt mind seeing some real california mexican food.place down the street is good but pricey

4 Fish tacos, enchilada plate, rolled taco plate, all for under $30? Heck of a deal on Tuesdays. Too bad there’s no football games on Tues. I think there used to be some college football on Tuesdays, like the MAC would play games on Tuesdays but not anymore.

Rodgers re-did his contract with the jets, he’s due for 37.5M this year and next year too, which is a pretty good deal if he’s still a top 10 QB. That’s guaranteed too so as long as he doesn’t retire and tries to come back he’s still getting paid in 2024, even if he hardly plays.

Paprika, S&P, garlic powder? U know, I don’t use paprika as much as I should, does it add a little bit of heat? R u a chili head, Hawk, or does spice give u the rumbly belly like Pops?
I like ur idea of using canned soup and mixing it up with the cooked stuff, it’s like using a sauce. U use a lot of cream of mushroom soups in dishes or no? I got a bunch of mushrooms I gotta cook up, thinking of making a mushroom sauce.

Sounds like ur local mexican place doesn’t know about taco Tuesday, Hawk. If u ever make it to costco again they have some beer battered fish in the frozen section that would be good for fish tacos, I think. Might try it myself later on once I empty the fridge a bit.

the original fish tacos were usually fried beer batter fish
this place has both grilled and fried fish but on taco tuesday they only offer the fried fish tacos on special
they are the smaller street style tacos and were $2.25/ea, so three bucks isnt that bad hawk
you should try it and get the enchiladas too so you can have some red sauce smothered goodness to go along with it
i bet you could make your own enchiladas and they would come out pretty good, its just decent corn tortillas with fillings and covered in red or green sauce
that cheese soup idea sounds awesome and next time im at the store im going to look for that stuff
like baba mentioned i used the cream of mushroom soup to make sauces and its awesome and easy
im thinking a bunch of that cheese soup and some tots!
there are all kinds of food trucks out here from teh construction site roach coaches to the fancy ones with more exotic offerings
the thing with those is they charge as much as most regular places for their food but you have to stand around in a parking lot or on the side of the road like some kind of dork eating with a bunch of hipsters

so at those numbers he made almost $10m per snap, if you dont count the tendon

yeah im a chili head baba.i put jalepenos on everything.ive had ghost peppers before.cant really handle too much heat these days.wrecks my stomach.i dont really notice any heat from papricka.someone more sensitive might notice heat though.i got a friend who thinks black pepper is too hot lol he pisses me off.

i dont really like cream of mushroom.i would use cream of chicken before i use mushroom.and i love mushrooms.ideally i would make my own soups and creams.that reminds me.i gotta make some Olive Garden copycat Tuscana soup.probably the best soup i make.potato,kale,italian sausauge,cream and chicken broth.plus whatever touches you wanna make.its really good.never had been to Olive Garden so dont know how the original compares.

hate to say it but think the vikings will win.guess i gotta use the internet to watch that game.im surprised youve heard of the misc baba.it has been in the news at least a few times though.its worse than ever.it used to be funny as hell.now its just a bunch of assholes.found it when i was looking up body building stuff about 15 years ago.they photo shopped this kid and i never laughed so hard in my life.i wouldnt be surprised if it breeds another serial killer.they even closed it off not long ago but opened it back up

Yeah Pop arent the street style tacos like 2 bites max? So $3-4 for a substantially bigger taco is about the same price wise.

I wonder if that canned cheese soup is basically cheese and milk/cream cooked together? Cheesy tots sound awesome btw. U ever think of throwing some meat sauce on there too, make a chili cheese tots? Or u can throw some chicken or any meat on there too.

Ur right Ive seen some food trucks around downtown chicago and theyre not cheap at all, like $10-18 for a sandwich and anything on the menu below $10 isnt much food for the price.

I think the TNF crew is al michaels and kirk herbstreit for now, maybe they get a week or 2 off during the season and you’ll see the milfs back, maybe for breast cancer awareness in Oct. But keep an eye out for taylor rooks, she’s one of their segment reporters and she’s stacked and likes to wear fitted clothes.

That Tuscana soup sounds fire and I think ive had it before at olive garden, or maybe im thinking about the bean soup they had. Let me see if I have any kale around, I guess you could use collard or mustard greens as well?

Cousins is known for doing poorly during primetime games but the line has moved in the vikings favor the last few days, from +7.5 to +6. I think some of the eagles def starters are out. But there’s a saying that you always fade the public during big games, so maybe taking the eagles is the way to go here. We’ll see…

Philly did win but vikings scored a TD late to lose by 6, which would have been a push as the final line closed at philly -6.
It was a pretty entertaining game especially in the 2nd half when most of the scoring took place. Hurts’ passing isnt quite on point as it was most of last year, aj brown is getting frustrated too not getting the ball enough, and hurts is having to run more. On the plus side, the run game was working with D’Andre swift, so maybe pivoting to running with an actual RB more is the plan going forward?

Has Hawk ever been to red lobster? TGI Fridays? Applebees or chili’s? Maybe he avoids chain full service restaurants because he can make better food at home.

Ur right Pops, it’s the alternate broadcast that the milfs are on. Also they had some comedy or podcast team on a couple times? And lebron james once? I guess it’s like amazon’s version of espn’s Manningcast, where peyton and eli watch MNF and talk about the game with special guests.

man, i havent been to red lobster in ages! we used to go for their all you can eat shrimp thing
even thoe i dont like shrimp they had a bunch of different preparations so it was fun to try them all and i can always crunch on their fried/ popcorn shrimp
plus i would save the salad and get extra bread sticks so at the end of the night they would box up our left overs and you would get an additional meal out of it
i think chilis,tgi fridays, and applebees are a step down from red lobster
more like bar food being served up at a table
but the applebees had this all you can eat wing thing going that looked good
like i said, bar food but if you are in the mood it could be fun
