NFL 2016

Interesting video but didn't seem to mention his retirement until the very end. The video was mostly about his ability to punch the ball out of an offensive player's hand, which was elite. If you were an opposing offensive player, your coaches would tell you to wrap both arms around the ball if Peanut Tillman was nearby. He just had a knack for forcing fumbles.

Glad to see he got one more opportunity to play in the superbowl, sad to see that he didn't finish this one out either and get a ring. But for a player who played at a small college, to be drafted in the second round by his hometown team, make a couple Pro Bowls, earn a Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, and have about 50M in career earnings in the league, he's done more than all right for himself. Now he can enjoy retirement and his kids while still young and healthy, assuming CTE doesnt mess him up later in life...

So training camps have started, and fantasy drafts will be happening in August and early September (1st game of the regular season is Thurs, Sep 8, Panthers and Broncos rematch of the super bowl).

Brady's going to miss 1/4 of the season, Peyton's retired, Brees is still good but I wouldn't say he's a top 3 or 4 QB anymore. Rodgers has Jordy Nelson back, Cam will be Cam and has Kelvin Benjamin back, Russell Wilson was on fire the 2nd half of last year. Maybe those 3 plus Luck are your top 4 QB's this year?

Eddie lacy's been doing that P90X and staying away junk food, is he a top five RB?
Is Kaepernick going to thrive in Chip Kelly's spread em out, hurry up offense?
What will RG3 look like this year, with Hue Jackson as his coach, and Josh Gordon as his receiver (starting week 5)?
Is Kirk Cousins going to continue to avoid turnovers and be a top 10 QB? His TE, Jordan Reed, might challenge Gronk for best fantasy TE this year, if he stays healthy.
Will Mariota and Jameis continue to make strides this year? One of my leagues is a 2-qb league, both of those guys will be drafted, no doubt.

All I know for sure is that Jay Cutler will do Cutler-ish things, like have turnovers at the most inopportune times. But I believe this year is the last year that the team owes him big guaranteed money; but without a successor waiting to take over, maybe this isnt his last year with the team. Especially since QB salaries have gone up a lot since he last signed his deal (he's being paid like an avg starting QB now), so maybe, just maybe, he's not the worst option at QB for the team?

how stupid/ cheap can one team be?!?

the chargers have still not signed their first round pick,(no 3 overall)
the hang up is over offset language, basically who pays what if bosa is traded before his 4rth year

not a fantasy player, but a friend was asking about bradys value?
any thoguhts on this booey'
i kind of understand the way its played and sugested if the price was right i would pick him up in an instant knowing he would not play the first four games.
if nothing else he should be a good trade as the season wears on

im so ready for football!

Leveon bell still went in the first round last season with a 4 game suspension to start the season, I didn't hear anyone complaining lol

yeah i figure that he produces zero the first four weeks then blows up the rest of the season, if you could pick him up late enough then thats good value, no?
im sure lots of others are thinking the same thing tho so i guess its all baout how much you are willing to spend (or however it works)

in other news, melvin gordon was on tv last night and looked yoked!
with a healthy line and a blocking fullback in front of him he will get his first career TD by week two, hopefully the first of many!

As long as he has Gronk, Brady's a top 5 QB fantasy wise. Missing 1/4 of the season hurts his value of course, but he won't drop too far in most drafts. Like, you're not going to get him in the 5th rd or lower, lol.
But what if jimmy garoppolo blows up during the first 4 games, like has a 14-2 TD-Int record? I mean, of course Brady's the starter when his suspension is over but that makes things interesting, does belichick trade garoppolo to a qb needy team, or does he hang onto him as insurance if brady's game doesn't age well?

So how far apart are the chargers and joey bosa on the contract terms?
I thought they're haggling over signing bonus deferment as well as the offset terms (if the chargers release bosa before his rookie contract is up and bosa signs with a new team, his salary with his new team will offset any guaranteed $ the chargers still owe him).
Eh, it must be hard to be a chargers fan nowadays. What with the moving the team drama (which still could happen, i guess) and now being a hard ass with their top five draft pick, it must be frustrating. And this is coming from a fan of a team whose qb is jay cutler, lol.

'Experts' are saying that carlos hyde could lead the league in rushing this year, what with chip kelly's very run friendly offense. Would I be insane to draft him in round 2 or 3? I guess he's got to stay healthy, but it's intriguing to think what he and Kaepernick could do in a chip kelly offense...

the way the pats drafted makes me think garrapolo is dispensable even if he does light the league on fire the first 4 weeks.

there are a handfull of young rb's chomping at the bit; david johnson, gurley, hyde etc.. and some of the younger vets as well

in no particular order my top 10 rbs.

adrian peterson
doug martin
lamar miller
leveon bell
eddie lacy
carlos hyde
david johnson
todd gurley
latavius murray(kind of on the fringe, I'd say I teeter-totter between him and TJ Yeldon of the jags, depends on whether TJ ends up being a 3 down back)

it's too bad that the niners play the chargers in san diego in week 4 of the preseason, not many if any starters will be playing and this will be the first so cal preseason matchup of niners @ chargers since levi's stadium was built...I guess I might still go, but week 4 of the preseason, damn! c'mon nfl! lol I like watching at least 1 quarter of the starters in preseason!

What about Palmer? I'd put him above Brees on that top 5 list. Fitzgerald, Floyd and Brown are all capable and Palmer likes to throw. Luck is gonna go quick in most drafts, but he's injury prone.

well i knew it was gonna be a slaughter but i thought they would get a field goal.im a die hard Bear fan but im getting really tired of people telling me im wrong every fucking year."oh the Bears got a great team this year!"or "They all got new players!they this time they can train all these new guys the way they want!". well whatever its only preseason.i predict the next game with the Patriots will be even worse.

Ah, forgot about Palmer. Yeah, he had a big year last year (except for the nfl playoffs, lol, but they don't count in fantasy for the most part) and has the best offensive weapons in the league pretty much.

But after the big year he had last year he's not going to surprise anyone and will be drafted high, so it's unlikely he'll be a good VALUE relative to where he's drafted. Same thing with Cam Newton this year, he's probably going to be the first 1st QB taken in most drafts this year, instead of like the 10th-15th QB taken last year, so relatively speaking he's not going to be the value pick he was last year.

Keep your head up, s-hawk.
The bears lost narrowly to the Patriots, yes, but we were at least able to move the ball this time.
The Bears are not a good team, any good years they had with cutler were with a top five defense, ever since urlacher retired theyve been pretty terrible.
Im thinking the team wont be good again till cutler moves on, which i believe the team can after this year (all the guaranteed money will have pretty much been paid after this year, cap hits if they cut him after this year will be small, etc).
Now, if cutler has a 'good' year (low turnovers) and the bears resign him to an extension, then you can start bashing your head against the wall, lol.

On e s p n.com there is an article posted about how daily fantasy games (draftkings and fanduel, specifically) got so big the last few years and then imploded when state atty generals started ruling they were gambling, not games of skill, and so had to be licensed in order to operate.
Also interesting to note in that article is that the vast majority of DFS (daily fantasy sites) players lose; only the top guys, with big bankrolls and technological advantages (scripts that crawl the sites, looking for newbies and easy marks, or scripts to change your 500 lineups at the last minute when injury news comes in) actually end up making money. So those ads where they say joe schmoe won 1M in a DFS game with a $10 buy in, pretty much false advertising. Like, that happened once and never again. But it's the top guys, the sharks, the DFS actually make most of their money on (15% commission or something like that), so DFS were slow to implement controls or ban their behavior until recently...

I never understood how you can play a daily fantasy game with the NFL, which just plays once a week (well, on Thurs, and Mondays too). If you enter an NFL lineup on Tuesday, dont you have to wait till Sunday or even Mon when the games are finished playing to see how you did? Maybe im just being a moron but explain it to me like im five, if anyone knows...

In other news, Chargers and Joey Bosa the #3 overall pick have escalated their contract stalemate to the point where the chargers rescinded their last offer and both sides are taking swipes at each other in the media.
So you know, very professional behavior from both sides...
Bosa's a rookie but as a top five pick he was expected to make an impact on their defense, which sorely needed a talent infusion. So now, he's missed most of training camp, and even if he does sign in the end he cant have a good impression of chargers mgmt from this, even if turns out to be good what are the odds he'll resign with the team once his rookie deal is up?
Just a mess.

fan duel has the "weekly" games that include thursday night football-mnf, they also have thursday only, monday only, early games sunday, late games sunday, and just about every combination in between. I believe they even have a mnf & tnf week crossover or something.

aren't most situations rigged in the favor of the rich already? the fact that dfs is no different really shouldn't be a huge surprise. I have not won buku bucks on fan duel, but I generally can play all season off of like $50 I put in my account at the beginning of the season, I'll go up and down. 50-50 leagues are the slow play more likely way to increase your bankroll over the course of the season. GPP(the big tourney's) are super top heavy in payout structure, but breaking into the top 1% of the field generally pays at least 20x your buy in. it's really luck hitting on those, I got 8th one time in a tourney that had 32k entries and it paid like $180 for $1, and I entered a basketball freeroll right after football season ended last season, it was like 100k entries first place got a trip for 2 to nyc and $20k; it was the only prize. I got 2nd place in that tourney, by about .3pts...so I was a little bummed but at the same time I'm not an avid basketball fan and the fact that I was number 2 really just spoke volumes to amount of luck involved, i think I knew the name of one guy on that roster lol rotogrinders has been a solid asset for my personal dfs experience. at the end of the day, I just play because it's fun, it's legal, and there is a chance in hell that I may actually win something significant at some point(maybe lol). I generally am not a gambler, I don't play lotto or scratchers or anything like that so the minimal $ that I deposit into fanduel is justified from just a hobby perspective alone, I typically play $1 and $2 games, unless I'm up than I sometimes enter a $25 or so lol.

Yo Deezy!! What did you think about that 9er D in that last game? I love it when they get sacks! Makes me somewhat hopeful of them going 10-6, lol.

the niner d-

I am impressed at this point to be completely honest. our line with armstead buckner and dial is no joke and when aaron lynch's suspension is over the starting olb's are solid enough, not von miller solid but only aldon could have done that. one of the ILB spots is wide open, I imagine it will be wilhoitte next to bow which is solid vs the run... our DB's are the group I'm most excited about(besides the mighty ducks up front) I think rashard robinson is going to really end up being the steal of the draft for us, I believe he's already beaten out acker/johnson/reaser so we've got brock, robinson and ward at corner and ward maybe shifts to nickle...we're solid at safety too with bethea, reid, and tartt. I'm honestly probably more optimistic than most 9er fans right now, I see it like we've got a lot of good young talent and a capable coaching staff.

niners O line looks to have gone from one of the leagues worst units last season to a really solid unit staley-garnett-kilgore-davis-brown with beadles and tiller and hopefully a man strength gaining marcus martin rounding out the depth

recieving core is pretty weak

I hope kaep wins the starting job, ponder looked a lot better than gabbert.

rb depth behind hyde is not so good, I'd be taking a flyer on karlos williams that the bills just dropped for that reason alone.

te's look servicable, and vance mc donald hasn't had the dropsies so far this preseason.

I know I may be setting myself up for disappointment, but I'm halfway expecting a wildcard berth with a real shot at making some serious noise.
