I really don't know. Was there something in particular you wanted? Or is it just a general, are you?

Hehehe, only because I ditch lots of others. And the seeds are free for me. Let me get them a bit more reliable first. I don't want any complaints.

bruisedberry piling on the trichs now. Quite a bit of distance from the light, so I'm guessing lighter buds but more crystally. Not that that's really important to me, but the obos are directly under the light, so it's just the way it's going to work out. I'm guessing around 4 more weeks on this plant. 1 of the buds

Obos update with a 2 litre coke bottle for scale

The first tri bruised nuts sprouted today, although the frequency has been hit by the outcross, this is the first in there I've found.

Hi Sleepy, It's funny that you and Agnes are the only ones posting in my thread these days, previous threads have had many visitors, and with numbers here doubling overnight, I'd have expected one or 2 new faces to drop in on a tri thread. It's an easy way to keep track of things, so I will keep posting my progress as long as this site stays up. I guess there aren't too many things you can say though when someone just posts a pic and says here it is, the way I do. It's nice to know I'm not here alone though.

GMT - I'm guilty of lurking, really should say hi a little more often. You're definitely not alone in here my friend...

Still lovin your tri project, I respect the patience and work needed to do realtime genetic research!!!

Hi Sleepy, I'm hoping it'll settle down once they've all found each other again, I just hope we dont split into an IC comuunity and a refugee community. It would be nice to gain some new grows to watch rather than losing the existing grows in a sea of unrelated threads. I guess we've always had to make our own entertainment though.

Hi MGJ, great to see you're still lurking, even better to see ya posting mate. This tri thing has me obsessed these days. Introducing new genes may not have been the best move in so far as stabalising the gene I want, but should create a healthier gene base to draw from. I do have one new generation tri in the Bruised nuts, but it's still too small to take a pic of really, here's what may turn out to be the last of the tri bruisedberry plants as whether I get a tri male or not from the nut crosses, a male from those will be used to cross with the tri bruisedberrys. If the tri bruised nut is female, I'll have decisions to make.

GMT - you're going about things very much like Gregor Mendel did with peas! In college I had a year of labs doing Mendelian breeding in peas and fruit flies - this is not simple cut and dried work... which is why I have much :respect: for genetics work. The only thing that helps is a very short lifespan, which is why fruit flies are so popular for studies. Breeding plants takes much time, physical space, attention to detail, hard work. Anyway, I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but wanted to say thank you in more than 2 words :friends:

Not to mention your naming system, always attention catching - like tri bruised nut!!! :biglaugh:

Hi MGJ, should I confess or try to look smart? I'll have to confess, stabalising the tri gene has to be the most basic of all stabalisation processes. That may seem strange, but you jsut hit the nail on the head. You see, once I have waited the 3 months for a new batch of seeds, And then another while for em to sprout, I can immediately see which plants display the gene and which don't, therefore it's unnecessary for me to grow a whole heap of plants right the way to maturity, I can bin most of em at 1 day old. This means that I can keep numbers low while still being able to serch through loads of seeds to select plants displaying the trait I want. Now some turn out to be plants I don't want to breed from anyway, and others that I can't breed from, but it still cuts the required numbers right down from most bbreeding programs. In short I'm taking the easiest option available, even if it doesn't feel all that easy at times. I liked the simplicity of the D,E,F type of naming, but the humour available got the better of me eventually. Thanks for the props mate, makes doing threads worth while.

Hey True, glad ya made it mate, nice to see ya. I'm a bit jelous of all your strains, esp as I ran out of smoke last night and you're just harvesting. I have a while to go, but it'll do me good to go dry for a while, make me appreciate it all the more come harvest time.
