New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

The press frames at harbor will be the cheapest way to go. There is a coupon on their website for 25% off 1 item today only. The other idea is to suspend or hold the containment packet when you open the press, i have to turn the hair press horizontal to remove the packet or it will fall into the rosin..

I believe it was mentioned before but the more I read the more it seems that an automatic heated and pressurized roller system with collection system would make this a very valuable and efficient way to make rosin on a larger scale and mostly automated (who trusts machines 100%)

Bingo.... I tried the roller method thinking I could squeegee the material and then back it off so not to squeeze (or overheat) the rosin but the material wouldn't fit though because the rollers were fixed and they would seize every time the package widened at the material lump.

If I put a pair of small pressure cylinders (or maybe even strong springs) on the cylinder instead of them being fixed, I might be able to revive this method.

I have smoked up most of what I made so I am ready for some more experiments :)

What I don't like about a design like that is where is the product going to go? It has to run back onto the material. This might work for ssmall strips for sure but not having even pressure on the entire surface area of the material will cause it to flow and stretch will burst you filter...maybe?

My intention was to squeeze the material with the rollers until the rosin was collected and then, release the rollers and go backwards so the rosin never went through the heat and pressure after the extraction.

However, leaving the parchment hanging outside so the rosin would collect there seemed to work fine so I never went back to this idea. Hoping I can find someone locally who wants to buy a slip roller. LOL

just curious if this method can at all be used with shake? i have a decent supply of high quality shake that is burning a hole in my pocket...

Breedersteve is already working on the screw press. He says he's having a bunch of mods made to them. I already expressed my concerns with that technique in this thread so as to not repeat myself and be lazy, I think the screw press will sacrafice quality and efficiency for a more automated and faster process. Time will tell what steve has up his sleave, he doesn't seem.to want any help or advice, which is foolish to me when someone is trying to freely share their research and ideas but oh well. The biggest issue will be filtration. I'd like to experiment with 5 micron lab paper and see what's up.

My ultimate idea is to press bars of trim super tight so you can skip the kief thing and maybe even filters altogether and have a lighter color extract with more terps. I'm not sure if it will be efficient though as I'm not yet positive as to how thick of a bar can be pressed. I theorize as the heat moves inwards it should be ok as the outer material will have already be extracted and you won't have too much terp burn age or decarb of the product but idk really, wishful thinking I guess.
