New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

Hey kids! I'm in the process of building a rosin press and was wondering if I could use steel plates as apposed to aluminium?
I've ordered big assed 250 watt heaters so I think I can get them up to temperature.

The bigger the plate the lower the pressure. Or pressure per sq in more accurately. I have never seen plates that big before, except on the t shirt presses and they suck

Sasquash presses have a 5x10" plates I believe. And rosin is not dark when it flows.

True but you are talking about a 5000dollar press. I I think the directional flow is why it doesn't burn.

I'll let you know in the fall if it burns if it's not directional :woohoo: . Please don't tell my wife that it cost close to 5k though

I feel you there my wife would freak if I spent that kind of money on a press.my buddy works in a lab, he ask me if I want to get a sasquatch, they are buying 12 of them. I like the elysian research drip tech better. They are backordered though.

I have stainless plates from New Vape and they're great. Very easy to clean and no pitting like I was getting on my aluminum ones from MediSun.

The majority of plates made are Aluminum because of the thermal conductivity. Aluminum will heat up much faster with much better uniformity. If you do get some pitting its very easy to fix. Working with it is butter vs steel. Like I said you can use steel it will work.

interesting ... mine are as good as new. Maybe the aluminum is stronger on my plates? Granted I just press for personnal consumption so I have not put a lot of wear and tear on my plates, and I mostly press hash nowadays.
