New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

I use a more accurate K Type Thermocouple probe. I put 6 of them on with Capton tape. This will give you an accurate temp map of the plates. Change the set point from 175f - 225f. take notes what the real temps are at those set points. You can just affix the heat offset chart to the press. You wont ever need to redo this unless u change the heaters or plates.

I have already had the plates off. from what I see having some new plates made doesn't seem liek a big issue. This press has a small 2x5 press area. I want to change it to 4x5. Any machinist in here lol..

I have done all my pre pressing. I have 58 pucks. This is about 4oz. My press is heating now. I let it sit for 30 min before I use it. I was hoping my case of Parchment paper would be here.. its out for delivery but not here yet. I have a little bit left so I can start on some. Will post soem pics of what I get.

I fail to see why this is important... this is basically melting hash into an oil right?
what am I missing here?

you are cleaning it, the cleaner the hash the cleaner the rosin, there will be contaminants trapped in the filter. But it does not mean you can turn shitty hash into great rosin but you can turn just about any hash into something dabbable.

EDIT lol I answered a question from the first page of a 354 page thread sorry, Im kinda new here...

Got some done. These are 2 different strains. The 1 on the left is not stable. Its much more oily. Right side is very stable. I could pick it up. finger tip heat will eventually start to melt it.

i find properly cured buds yield a product that is easier to handle, not necessarily stable but easier to handle. Anything super fresh and I often have to collect it on a block of ice or something.

Everything I press is fresh properly dried to 58% rh. I prefer no cure myself. The longer you cure the more THC degrades to CBN. Increasing the press temp helped with stability.. I prefer 190-200f press temp. Strain your pressing makes a difference as well.

depends how you collect. with my large glass roller i can pick any extract up, in pretty much any temperatures.

If you still have some left, can you try different temperatures for those 2 strains and see the results? I've found that each strain has to be dialed in to get the results that you want. Almost any strain can certainly be run at 190F and get good results, but some need higher from my experience and I wanted to see what you guys thought? I assume this is because different strains = different terpenes = different boil off points.

I dont use any cooling either. What does the glass do?? If I put anything on fresh batches it sticks to it. If it sets for a few days I can touch it without any real issues.. Some I can handle easy, Some I can't. Batches made with 50um bags I could handle. Im not using bags anymore I use coffee filters. I don't know there micron rating.

I toss sticky shit in the freezer or fridge, depending on stickiness.

Using a small square of parchment, it is easy to pick up a thick piece and use this to wipe up each sheet. I used a dab tool before and prefer this, 1/10 the time and no scraping.

Saying that, now that the link is fixed, those heady collectors look nice.

I have a problem trading for glass.

Coffee filtres range from 5-10 micron as I recall. Keep meaning to try the squares I ordered.

i can clean a sheet of parchment faster than anybody! :D seconds really.

I am really, really, ridiculously, competitive, are we gonna have to upload vids? lol seriously though if you can upload or give another link for that glass tool to collect rosin I ll see if I can find something similar, I mostly use a dabber for small amounts and for slightly larger amount I start a mother pile and once she's big enough I can clean a lot of parchment pretty quick.

lol,, I finished with this run. I started with 4.2oz of flowers. I finished with 20.2 of Rosin. I noticed the longer I let the press sit the better. Even after 30 min the temp was not to setpoint. I will let the press sit for 1hr now before I use it.
