I think for long term storage herb that might be fine. 10% more humidity might make it flow a bit easier.
Funny as shit...whipped up a batch of hand pressed rosin from some Just about dried WW flower...abit too much moisture still, but my slabs weren't done yet in my chambers so figured why not bring some Rosin....so the tiny bit of moisture crackle when dabbed.
let buddy sample.......calls it straight up TANE SOUP..lol...
And he is a so called BHO expert .....who cannot tell Rosin with a bit of residual moisture from Tane soup.....
Things that make you go hmmmnnnn,,,,
I have had people say that before even hitting it, and the rosin I got doesn't crackle at all when dabbed. But yet the little gooeyness it has makes people think it hasn't been purged properly.
has anyone ever tried winterizing rosin? just to see what kind of fats/lipids are actually being extracted. ive been wanting to do it for a while but thought id see if anyone had ever heard of someone else experimenting with it.
yes, and freeze drying as well. these will help rid any extra water particulate.
you know watery rosin by the wrinkly parchment paper
havent seen too much as far as lipid separation, unless there's a seed been pressed too
so youve actually winterized rosin and havent seen too much as far as lipid separation? i would assume with pressing at higher temps youre also pressing out lots of undesireables. how much did you press and what did you end up with? what were the yield %? any pics of the filter papers?
press it, freeze it and check it out.
press it throw it in some 200 and watch the minimal seperation, as it freezes.
granted i havent winterized an ounce or large amounts
each squish is 3-4 gram, i try to stay away from to dry or too wet each tends to put chloro into the rosin making it darker. yields are between 20-30% strain dependant, i rarely use filter bags, i like the open pressing for flowers.
