New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

Could the plant material be infused, or re-hydrated with pg based flavorings before its pressed somehow?

Don't get me wrong I know you can vape a bho mixture, but mmm strawberry rosin...

Just pressed some chaos flower last night. 225* yeilded some super shatter. Was easy to scrape right after I pressed it. Next day flaked easily and was hard to gather in a ball. Temps were 77*, 60%rh. It handles easily for a min, then get sticky from finger heat. Super potent, super flavorful, bottom line, LOVE it

No, you really can't re-hydrate the material, you'll just end up with a lower yield since you're steaming water instead of extracting THC.

too dry bud can be re hydrated. have sprayed distilled water on buds that were left to get too dry before now and it's no problem. it turn the buds from powder dry to rolling dry. i don't like it when the buds are so dry that you end up with a small heap of dust left after grinding a nice sized bud. best way is to have it in a jar then give it 1 spray, seal it, wait an hour and see if it needs another spray or if it's good. have used aple before too, but prefer distilled water. you can also cut a corner off a clean sponge, wet it and add that to the jar of dry bud, just don't let the soaking sponge piece touch the bud directly.

Tape a wet Qtip to the underside of a jar lid...keep fruit away.

I've seen lots of people on FB rehydrating over night with fruits and things like fresh lavender flowers. I've never done it but they have all reported great success. Granted only water soluble terpenes will transfer to the flowers. I personally believe the herb should be fresh and flavorful as is. I don't want a strawberry flavor colliding with the natural flavor of the herbs. To each their own I suppose, I know not everyone has access to fresh greasy flowers. Just gotta do what you can and what you want with what you got.

I like to take a half pound and lay it out thin in a turkey bag on its side. A single boveda pack just as a buffer. That and the hygrometer I use to keep the turkey bag popped up like a tent for better convection. From bone dry usually takes about 3 sprays of distilled water. After the misting, roll up the open end of the bag and put a weigt on it. I usually shoot for 60%rh at 60F-70F. Just overnight, no longer. Myself and others have noticed that sometimes boveda packs can rob terps. You can scale this technique down to any size.

yeah, using fruits can lead to mold issues if unlucky. doing that with 1 bud as a test might be fine but never risk contaminating your buds with fruit on a large scale. the fruit can have microscopic mold spores which will destroy the original flavor of the buds. even water used should be ro or distilled if doing this with large amounts, tap water can make it taste stale if you are unlucky.

I understand why someone buying crap off the street or from a recreational store would get dry bud, but if you're growing it yourself and having to rehydrate it, you're simply storing it wrong. Plain and simple. I can press bud that's been in jars for over a year without adding any moisture and they press just fine.

what gaismariusisisusasis says! (sorry not good at spelling)

i would recommend a new clean sponge and RO or distilled water put it in a plastic container with many large size holes. tap is ok tho since you should not need to have the water contact the weed. This is what cigar humidifiers use after all. I also would recommend those jel nuggets that swell when hydrated in a plastic containter with holes. cigar humidifiers essentially.

i also judiciously use Boveda 62 packs but more for the quart size jars that I smoke from since they get opened up alot.

i don't like putting fruit in with the weed for the reasons G posted. just asking for mold contamination but hey, its your weed and lungs so smoke up if ya like boys

of course, when all is as it should be you don't need to re hydrate. shit some times happens though and for those situations it's good trick for the tool box.

Thats a matter of opinion for sure, and I for one have a different one. The moisture level i prefer for pressing is certainly much damper than one would like for long term storage.

First, thanks for the help everybody. This thread moves really fast, sorry for not keeping up.

To re-hydrate my buds. I like to just open up the bags, place them in my dry room, and set the humidity at 60%. My dry room is 12' x 20', so lot of material can be done at once. I have a dehui or a humidifier depending on the time of year. Takes about 24 hours to acclimate.

Good info all around.:tiphat:

I just got my first legit pneumatic rosin press today, and I have played with it for hrs, I have gotten similar results to you weird. 20-25% seems to be the norm for me, I pre press 2 grams in a shot glass and smash, I do 20-30 seconds only and the flavor is superb I am completely shocked that rosin actually packs more flavor then a properly vac purged bho will. I was hoping for decent pulls of a slightly less terpy product but I am totally wondering why I would ever need my vacuum oven and vac pump now.

Been hunting through this thread for a bit. Just wondering what others are seeing in returns from their flower runs and what flowers are giving the best results.

So far my best is 26.7% with Shackzilla from ******. Also had a 25.9% with Sugar Punch from ****** as well.

Seems like I've seen people reporting numbers like these on the high end. Surely people have gone higher though. Wondering if anyone has seen returns over 30?

I've seen 30% on some Bubba Kush someone brought over, which was amazing to me as my old bubba S1 would only do about 16% with BHO.

I've been pressing stuff that has been sitting with the Boveda 62% packs - do you think your preference is more moist than this? I have been thinking that an increase in moisture content from this level might be beneficial but haven't tried yet...
