I'm pretty sure I am sticking to a clamp and hair press for life!
i watched a very sad example of the medisun press yesterday, again like you HMK press all the way the rest can waste their dollars trying to catch up.

Alright, costco here I come...now back to that press...
do you think its worth 3600$? I think thats cheap for the production it can do, but my buddy thinks the plate is too small..
Just curious... did your Harbor Freight jack fail? I only ask because mine is leaking and I think I need a new one as well.
I stocked up on 190 proof Everclear awhile back so I was thinking of soaking the chips in cold ethanol. I love edibles but yeah....less green taste is better

that press is cute at best, its action is way too fast, completely controless thumbs down there, my main beef with this machine it the air discharge that blasts contaminated air all over a finished product, these issues are why pneumatic is and will always be inferior
...snip...
meanwhile the harbor freight A-frame is totally wonked out. i was having to resquare it between every press before i got the new DAKE.
i do the same thing with all my wafers!
LS!
How do you heat the vice grip tips effectively for the irwin 11sp?For super dense buds it rocks especially, the extra pressure it gives, and in a pinpoint way instead of all spread out flat, gives a better yield.
So if you hadn't gotten the Dake is there anything that you can think of that would have made the HF A-frame more worthwhile? Lockwashers? More bolt holes drilled?
Hey gang, I am going to try the tea bag thing. Is this the right kind of tea bag to use....

are you making pucks with a twisty hash press? that took me forever!
i've been borrowing more advice from sunfire on the pre-pressing and it's been very successful and saving me time.
i experimented at first by filling quart sized ziplock backs full of trim then putting them under a board and standing on it for a while to compress the herb. then i'd cut it into properly sized rectangles with a sharp pair of scissors. i could put the rectangles into the t-sacs, or wrap with a piece of coffee filter paper. they weren't quite tight enough with my trim to press without a filter.
on my 4 ton press with 2"x3" plates i was able to do 2.5--3g per packet before getting blowouts.

last week i finally got a pressing die made. with my new 10t i am going to be using 3"x5" plates. i am expecting to be able to press up to 15g at a time on these. the pre-press die fits the trim easily and compresses it into a perfect even rectangle.
