New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

that purple looks beautiful, how was the taste? what strain did that come from? thanks for the pics

SG's MCD (Blue City Diesel x Mendo Purps)

That is from buds that are not dry. The purple is only showing up because of the moisture. My Cheesequke does the same thing if you press wet. Looks cool, but I would put money on it that you can taste the moisture.

It was wet bud that I hit with a higher temp than y'all since the ole ladys straighteners lowest setting is 310
I heated it up then pressed with it turned off...

it tastes the same as other rosin I've tried... its nice and clean, but not any more special... just pretty...

How wet was it? I tried pressing wet once and just got a ton of steam that almost burned my face off and shot out everywhere.

Most types fresh are not good really(very low yield), but one day, or maybe 2-3 days hung depending on conditions can be super tasty.

came across this press, any experiences? price point is really good and from what I see, has all the components necessary: arbor press + PID heating element.

I have their dual e-nail unit for my enail setup and it's fantastic. Stays consistent, heats up well, no issues. The box doesn't even heat up like the others do. This stuff seems like (as others have said) imported parts that are assembled here so it's higher quality than being 100% done overseas. For $350, I think that's the best deal out there right now.

So I've read through this thread and couldn't come to a conclusion on my own and was hoping for some opinions.
Would it be more efficient to kief/dry sift the buds and then press it, or just press the buds? Would the flavor be comparable? Would I need to press the kief into a puck or anything before pressing it? I don't have the freedom to be able to just squish to I have to theorize what I want to try before I get my hands on anaything.

1000$ Alibaba.com.. 5000PSI Pneumatic rosin press.. it comes with 6x6 but ask for a 2inch by 8 inch set of heat plates instead of the 6x6. also ask for the 6x6s on the side making the 2x8s interchangeable...

talked to him.. u end up getting the same system a company in the US.. with some name of Rosin.. just upside down lol. they literally called this company and asked for the design to be flipped and the 2x8inch plates..

Pretty sure i recall we covered that pretty well.

Anyway, as I see it, very pure dry sift gives good flavor, so thats worth pressing, but ok sift doesnt really compare to flower well. Flower tastes great, but a few claim great dry sift is better.

just discovered a uses for the ok dry sifts and keifs. we have been having a humidity run here, and pressing the newer buds has been really buttery and even watery. light went on so i loaded 2 gr bud and 1 gram keif, the press was much better consistency and yield. will keep looking into this mopping method

Been making some out of bubble hash lately. I usually press flowers. The one thing I notice , is that flower Rosin can be very tasty...but it often produces a dark Resin on my tools and nail. The bubble hash Rosin. Is full melt, anything left on the dabber is super clean looking. The same strain pressed in flower form produces a beautiful Rosin, but when introduced to heat the leftover Rosin on the dabber will be thick and black. The Rosin I press from flowers has no visible signs of contaminant. But something is different in how it reacts to heat when vaporizing it.

The bud i have pressed did have more bud flavor, at the lower temp the kief is much lighter with way more hash flavor...

It seems we are getting extract from the plant material then, or from non glandular trichomes possibly. I dont see it as it reacts differently to heat, but something else is included in it thats not in trichome heads is making this happen.

I agree 100%, just for the he'll of it I am going to press a few buds using the Tbags I am using for Bubble Hash. I will see if it make a difference, maybe non-visible contaminants? I have a Muad Dib, a Magic Flight for concentrates. It has a screen, and the screen gets caked with black Rosin with repeated use. But the bubble Hash Rosin leaves no residue. I actually think 2-3 day dried flower tastes better, but something causes it to have a Resin left over that coats the screen. Rosin from flower leaves a distinct smell on my tools and. Vaporizing devices, much different than any other extract.

I put a tiny twist of rosin into an empty absolute xtracts cartridge, just to see if it works..

It does! Albeit I'm thinking more testing us needed b4 I dedicated enough rosin to fill up the cart. Also my rosin is year old jack herer organic outdoor, with a 300f ish temp press from a hair iron and clamp, hence a darker and not room temp stable batch.

Just pull out the light blue rubber stopper, insert rosin snake (I had to use freezer to get stable enough to twist) and then use a small needle or paperclip to push the snake down to the bottom near the wick!

Rosin to go without using a LAYG type cartridge

I use a seego vhit c works great, only complaint is the coils clog and i haven't found a way to clean them...

I use the Seego V-hit Glacier. I don't know if the coils are the same but I just toss mine in a shot glass with some isopropyl alcohol for a couple days. Then, I run it under water, just like I clean most other stuff.

Then, I use a torch to super dry it. Maybe poke the holes a little to make sure it all came out.

Lastly, I mount the coil on a battery and run run run run it until no more smoke comes off. This usually takes a couple days of occasional running to get it all off.

Finally, I scrape the dry residue off the coils and the surrounding area and it gets it pretty clean. I just cleaned a batch of about 5 or 6 of these and only one failed after cleaning.

This has worked pretty well for all my coils. I toss the cheapo ones but the Seego units and the Yocan Ultron are the ones I clean.
