New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

anyone went with a t-shirt press? hows that work? Is it enough pressure? if not any way to modify it to add pressure?

I wish I could give you negative reputation. I don't often say something like that. Read the last 10 pages at least, what you ask is covered. I know it's a big thread, but do SOME work man.

If they ask once, ignore them. Its when they insist on an answer when nobody answered it that it gets annoying, thats happened before in this thread; if you can just ignore them to start, its easier, then they will be forced to go and find out, without the negative waves being engaged most likely, unless they like you know, keep pestering.. :D

T-shirt press is probably the worst choice.

Hair straighteners attached to clamps or vises work great.

If you want to spend a little more buy a Harbor Freight A-Frame shop press and get innovative.

If you're really rich and really stupid... buy one of the many pre-built models available at rip-off prices.

That's about it in a nutshell.

73u GG4 bubble pressed at 220

I followed the URL and found out 10 bags cost $25 and the other stuff needed didn't seem like much but saw no prices, 4x4 aluminum plates and a couple of heating units + the bottle jack, seems the whole thing shouldn't cost more than $500, probably a lot less. What a nice clean system. The 220 you mention is ppi? Very purdy stuff.

not pressing right on them DR.

my first press was a 1/2 ton arbor press and i used it with several titanium hair irons.

i'd get some good function out of it for a while but they all ultimately bent or warped or shorted out.

i tried one set of ceramic hair iron plates and they cracked immediately.

greyfox has been doing some cool work using the same PTC heaters inside steel blocks he gets machined to fit them in.

earlier last year gold ash did some sweet dies that fit hair iron plates inside them to give them some beefiness to withstand the higher pressures.

so you might be able to rig up something to make it work.

good luck!

not sure on that one. I know people use them successfully with the Irwin quickgrips which are 600lbs i believe.

yeah that's the setup i'm currently using and it seems to be holding well

thanks! i've seen some nice dies but on the pricier end (i think medisun?) will explore other options as well. or maybe look into getting some made at a machine shop locally.

Nice job on the bubble!

I use parchment instead of cardboard. My climate rarely goes above 30% RH.

I sometimes do as well....just depends what i had on hand. I bought these boxes for like 40 cents a piece and you can cut them into 4 sections about 1x3.....work great for microplaning
