New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

im having good luck with stability here, i think the oldest rosin i have is going on 2 mo nths old and is still pull and snap. i dont know about potency loss though, if that is what was being referred to. But hell yes fresh is best, ill even press live plant material, just have to go higher heat(330) and do the squish a lil slower, and do realize you will get a sappy or buttery return due to water content, but the terps are worth the mess and sizzle :tiphat::dance013::biggrin:

yeah anything fresh and terpy will budder up pretty quick. if its decarbed or cured or well dried material, the extract would be stabler than fresh stuff. I usually am using fresh stuff, barely dry at all.

Dont really have the patience to press buds ... we call the wife the chimney, so just not enough ... but pressing keif rocks. The stuph that falls through the 86lpi screen is unbelievable ... and the stuph that stays on top aint half bad either :)

Hey rosin pros. My partner just told me he wants to make rosin on a commercial scale.

Was hoping you pros might be able to share some info with me on how to setup a large system, including parts needed ect. Here or a pm works for me. I did read much of this thread but failed to find a post that showed on detail how to accomplish such a task step by step, with parts used listed ect..if I missed a certain post and you can link me that would be appreciated too.

Thanks all

Was scoping this as a solid beginner unit. Would love to know if others have had success with these or not?

I think people are insane for paying that kind of money for a simple heated press.

$200 to $500 for a commercial model with some kind of cool collection attachment and maybe $99 for a consumer model for use with parchment. Anything else is just crazy. You can DIY this stuff just way too cheap.

How do people feel regarding the taste of compared to some fine purged butane or co2 oil/wax/shatter?

the fresh squeezed budder actually keeps nicely if i allow it to dry properly.

my cured trim pull and snap and shatters seem to be very stable.

yea I have a buddy that has received two of the rosintech presses ... he is much less then satisfied with the press or the service. Neither have worked right and he has complained about tech service. Now he says he has found virtually the same press on Alibaba for like a fraction of the cost. Hopefully the Emerald Cup this weekend will give us more ideas where this tech is headed :)

i posted all the presses that are being resourced from china here already the hardpressco press is 600 bux, all these shirt press rip offs are 200bux. anyone shelling out 1000s of dollars for these presses is just lazy and obviously has the extra money to waste.

OK, finally got around to taking some pics and running some more presses.

The pics still don't show very clearly what I was trying to explain in my previous post but maybe they will help a little.

First shot is just an overall.

Second is how I make my pucks. Standard hash press and Harbor Freight Arbor Press. I weigh exactly 1 gram in each puck. That way I get a real similar size chip from every press. This keeps the distance I place the puck from the edge consistent.

Third pic is a 1 gram puck

In the 4th pic (and, I wish I had placed a packet in there to show this) you can see that the platens are pushed back and the rod from the bottle jack presses exactly on top of the puck.

I found this to press the rosin in all directions and made collection a PITA.

The 5th pic is a rear shot of the setup.

Pics 6 and 7 show the way I have it set up now (and normally).

Now (and, again, I wish I had the packet in there to show more what I mean) if you compare, you can see that the rod is well behind the puck so the pressure on the puck starts from behind it and pushes the rosin to the forward edge. I even end up with a somewhat "egg shaped" chip after pressing. One way to compare the pictures (4 and 6) is to look at the placement of the platens compared to the bottom arbor plate.

Hope that explained it just a little more. It seems to work better for me this way but there is always more than one way to skin a cat. This one just works for me.

I also found pucks work much better than snakes for me. Again, somewhat different than some other reports.

great video. Seems the d-nails not only sold out, but the pre-orders of the d-nails is sold out too. Wonder how much they go for and how easy/expensive it would be to make something very similar at home... If anyone has some schematics holler!

Has anybody purchased one of these? They appear to be dual heated plates, and basically the same thing everybody is using.

I really like it. I admit I am new to the process, and only have pressed 4 strains. However those 4 strains I know well, and I might like rosin better than ice wash hash, kief, bho, ext. Really nice clean finished product. Pretty as hell also. The only down side I can see from research is rosin seems to be less stable because it's been exposed to heat. In other words, it will become more gooey with time.

I dont think thats why its less stable. And it typically doesnt become more gooey with time, just the opposite. Its a pure plant essence chock full of terpenes and shit. BHO is a different beast, comes out pretty stable to start usually.
