new england growers:regional info part 2

Whats up guys  i just moved to the new england area for school so i unfortunatly missed this season but i wanna start prepairing for the spring so i can be ready. Ive never grown outdoors because I used to live in the suburbs of jersey so there wasnt really any secure places to grow.

Ive got a few questions for you guys, what would be a good inexpensive outdoor strain for New Hampshire? How long is the season usually up here? What type of animals do i have to worry about?

I found an ideal spot for them or so i think, its this little beach that runs along a river. It Gets full sunlight pretty much all day. Theres also a forest on the edge of the beach so it could provide some nice camofouge. :chin:

brad i cant wait to see that ish

so i was talkin to one of buddies today and he told me to pull the whole plant out of the pot dirt and all.. and then just knock the loose soil off and put the root ball into a brown paper bag tie it off and then hang it like that for a few days...then just cut the stems an dproceed to hanging those..

i was just going to cut the stem.....but i might try it like my boy recommended
any sugestions as to what works the best durring curring...

im going to hack mine when brad does his cause the weather up here is not loking to good for the next coupla weeks, and i dont want to risk mold.
She is lookin good at this point anyway, i dont want to risk some one going to find them (in which case i would do this :bat: )

peace

Welcome Clubdrug! A little beach along a river is bound to have ppl around when it's hot. You've got plenty of time between now & next season to scope out spots.
Stalldaworld, screw the roots, they offer you nothing. The only thing of importance are the trichs.
Brad, nite's fine. Nice moon too! Yeah it was the Harvest Full Moon a few nights back.
Yeah the threat of rain Wed/Thurs has me wondering... have to stay on top of the weather.
Took down a few today.
Rocketwreck #2 had a spot of mold on it and was ready, along w/ RW #3. The other RW's could use some more time. Also took down the rest of the Biddy. Calyx's are purpling up!
Here's #2 in the forgound, Biddy behind it, #3 back left.

Here's RW #3, which had slightly more sativa profile leaves on it compared to the other RW's.

Close up of her back @ the ranch:

highlighter,
seems like you and i havevery similar weather, so do me a favor and let me know if you think i should leave my plant though this weekend or just do her tonight. shes already got a little spot of mold on the top of her but i really think she could use more time. after the rain wed/thurs he temp drops down to like 33 or something for the next couple of nights, for me anyways.

Damn Brad Lee, take some more shots of that in focus! Pull back from getting so physically close and then zoom in, hopefully in macro mode.
Hard to really tell w/ that focus, but your trichheads are looking pretty milky- perfect time I'd say!
Tonight would be good, but I'm holding out til Sat. Not gonna get that cold here fri-sat, 38 for me but i'm pretty far south. Rain doesn't sound as heavy as I 1st heard.
Looked at them today w/ magnifying glass. Very few amber heads and still a few clear ones, plenty of new pistils. No mold seen. Some inclimate weather should change all that!
Mid-Oct. weekend has been my plan all along and I'm sticking w/ it!

Here's the Biddy bud for real:

way to go bradlee!!! nice harvest! i'm too much of a new grower to know yields...hell i have no idea what i've yielded yet. i think i'm going to chop my last 2 whole plants...and i have 2 others that were partially harvested 2 weeks ago. boy had i know how gorgeous the weather was gonna be the last two weeks i would have held off til now on all of them. oh well i'm still happy with the outcome!
let us know how the smoke and yield is.

Welcome to the Fraternal Order of N.E. Growers, you newbies! Well done!
My guess is 3.5 Oz for Brad Lee and 7/8ths Oz for Stalldaworld. Harder than guessing the wgt. of the pumpkin @ my local pharmacy. What's the closest guess get?
Damn shame we can't have a harvest get-together. The Biddy is real good, and will only get better w/ a good jar cure. Got my work mate hammered yesterday on 2 hits. The breeders were pretty accurate w/ description- "not a day-time weed but not a couchlock either". Peace, HL

hi folks! well i harvested the 2 whole plants and 3 partials that were still soaking some late season sun(good hash plants with those little popcorn buds)...good thing too as its been pouring all nite!!! stayed up late trimming...oh my aching itchy eyeballs!!! here's a few pics!
still havent figured out the yields yet...maybe tonight i'll jar more(the ones that have been hanging for 2 weeks)
it is too bad we can't do a "smoke together"...maybe someday this will be legal!!

I know I've got enough for my head til next yr. but I can't be as generous to family & friends as I like to be. Next year...
I usually wait til it's cold outside, Nov, Dec before I run bubble. nice lazy sun. afternoon football & bubble. :D or when my wife gets pissed over all the freezer space I'm taking. :biglaugh:
Love your spot litebuzz! Can well imagine getting ripped and sitting where that 3rd shot was taken, and enjoying life! Good call on your final harvest. Been fretting all day in my head. Went out 1st thing this A.M. to shake rain off buds. Hard to do now that they're getting big, easy to snap a branch off.
Muggy here all day, then a few hrs of nice sun mid afternoon, then clouding over to the point of expecting mist & fog. Checked them again after work, looking good. Can't believe I'm not seeing mold on them yet. Forecast tomorrow for my area is evening rain - will have to check them after work - 1st sign of mold and theyre coming down. Stay tuned...

Checked plants after work yesterday and took these shots. Especially like this shot, w/ the last pistils defying Mother Nature's call to give up. Like a middle finger salute :biglaugh:

In and out of a Biddy-induced nod last night, kinda watching the baseball game. News came on after, and there was a big frost advisory alert. They showed the next town overs current temp @ 34.
I freaked, and motivated out to the plot. Damn if I was gonna lose my plants to a Fri 13th freeze! (technically it was past 12, so I did wait til Sat. )
The 3 plants left there were saturated w/ condesation, leaves all limp. Not how I like to harvest them.
Have two RW runts out elsewhere and I left them. Woke up to a temp of 30 degrees, a skimming of ice on the dog's water. Runt's were fine.
Here's the last shots of RW #1, my best RW. Not bad for a June start up!
