thanks again highlighter, the advice brought to mind another question though... you say the sun will beckon the resins to build, and that reminds me of another thing i read. im not sure where it was but i recall reading that if you let your plant go dry just before harvest it will cause the plant to release more resin. this is because the resin acts as a natural sunblock for the flowers to protect them from the heat of the sun when the plant senses an oncoming drought. have you heard this? and if so, how long should they go dry? my plan was to let them go dry the day before the rain so that resin would be produced and then the showers on the following day will re-moisten any dried out plant cells just before the harvest. what do yout think?

(im not just asking highlighter alone, anyone with any information helpful here would be great.. thanks)

oh ya and GREAT lookin buds highlighter! Brad Lee your flowers are lookin mighty fine too! is that really your first grow? :rasta: :chin:

Cut the large Biddy today. Wee bit of mold, nothing out of control. Left the lower branches that were seeded. Was a little rusty last nite, but was back in form tonite. :canabis:

~Thanks Highlighter. sounds good coming from a seeming vet.
Had a few questions:
When should i trim, before or after i hang them?
How do I make hash, and what do I make it with?
What to do with the trim?~

Thx I'm just getting good results the last couple of yrs outdoors. Was always better indoors, but don't wanna be doing that on my property anymore, so...

Trimming is a personal preference kinda thing. I find it way easier to trim when it's wet, and I can find and cut out any mold quickly.
I believe hanging them whole drains all the moisture and various enzemes into the sun leaves and stalks, which in turn, leave you w/ a better tasting cured herb. Your call. Do some both ways and compare, see what you like.
Cook up some cannabutter or make hash w/ trim. Make hash w/ bubblebags. You can find cheaper filters on the internet, but bubblebags are made specifically for it, and are a good investment.
I don't know about letting them "dry out" before harvest. I've done it indoors, as well as put plants in the dark for 48 hrs, all in the name of more peak resin. Never could tell a difference.
Nick, looking good, you should be real happy! :D
ramero, do this ol hippie out in the woods a favor and refrain from posting large, out-of-focus pics. This dial-up is killing me!
Stay safe, Y'all! :friends:

Here's pics of some lower branches left to ripen a bit more. MM x Passion #1.

This strain is Lavender x Afghani Orange. I'd like to let this one go a bit longer but will probably have to chop due to weather. Today is supposed to be the last nice day for quite a while.....rain coming!

Thank's Highlighter
These are a local strain that I have grown over the past few years, Not sure, but I think they were Great White Shark in the beginning that have been crossed with Passion #1 (Dutch Passion's) as they call it now, around 3 years ago...about half alway's turn really purple, which is really pretty, but the green ones are more potent and don't seem to mold as easy

I get green and purple phenos with the MM x Passion too. The green is much more potent, but in this case the purple tends to be more mold resistant. I find it to be good smoke, and it's got a unique head high that I really like. I'll have to take some finished product pics to share.

yo what up everyone, good to see everyone "stuff" is doing well.... i just wanted to introduce myself. Brad Lee turned me on to this forum and i figured i would give it a try... pic's to come...

so Brad Lee game me 2 babies on my b-day (july 23) they were about a week out of the soil at that point. They were in the same pot and i didnt want to seperate them beacsue they were so close and i didnt want dammage. anayway i decided to put them in a bigger pot and miricle grow them up.. i had to because they started so late...but whatever.. one turned out to be a male, so i chopped it, then put the fem in a even bigger pot to finish dominating
i have tried a few tiems with a few buddies when i was in high school, but this is by far the most serious effort i have put into a pliz.

so i took a few shots.. some older... some today..

whatcha think?

They taste damn good Royal and just get better with each passing day. I cure at room temp for 3-4 weeks then refridgerate at 40 degrees. Excellent way to keep the them perfect for a long while.

Looking good, GlAssmasTeR, GNW, & Stalldaworld!

GlAssmasTeR, I grew some SD last yr. Most of it I had to pick early due to mold, so I didn't wanna do 'em this yr again, but damn, it lives up to it's billing, and after a good cure, was the best weed I grew out last yr. Next time I do an indoor grow, will be running her for sure.

Great wk of weather til the "occasional showers" forcasted for today turned out to be pretty heavy out my way. ( I was working in it :frown: )
Got windy this afternoon, will either dry off the plants, or drive the lingering moisture into the folds of bud.
Rocketwrecks are just showing 1st brown pistils, hope I can keep 'em growing a few more wks to fatten them up. Gotta keep a close eye out for mold, esp after sunday-mondays projected rain. Good luck & happy weekend my friends!

Im a little paniced right now..........
forecast for this evening shows a low of 36 or 38 with a frost advisory. my little girl is in a pot, half buried in soil and large rocks and right next to a pond. shes nowhere near ready. forecast for the rest of the week is pretty much sunny with lows in the mid forties. taking her in is not really an option. i really dont want to hack her but im gonna go with what the pros tell me because thios is my first time and i dont want to go this far and then lose it all.
please respond by tonight.
peace and every one north of ct is gonna want to look out.
