These are a local strain that I have grown over the past few years, Not sure, but I think they were Great White Shark in the beginning that have been crossed with Passion #1 (Dutch Passion's) as they call it now, around 3 years ago...about half alway's turn really purple, which is really pretty, but the green ones are more potent and don't seem to mold as easy

i assume i have at least two weeks myself, maybe more. had kind of a scare last night but i think the temp only got down to 40. you think that two to three weeks will be enough for them to finish?

also, i was wondering if any one could share some insight on a questiom i thought of last night:
last night it was very cold, 40 i think, and i fed my girl some water soluble nutes. is it not good to water them on a cold night because it could potentially make them colder? i thought of this immediatey after i had watered them.

Hey NE'ers! I signed up a while back but this is my first post. I just cut the first buds last night. I didn't get any pics before the chop, but I do have some from early mid-August and the beginning of this month. These pics are of a mighty mite x passion #1. I seeded this one to replenish my stock. I also took some pics of lavender x afghani orange but they came out bad. That strain will be going into October for sure. Oh yeah, I did find one small bit of mold while I was trimming. Didn't notice it before I cut, but I only lost about a joint's worth at least. Ok, here's a couple pics.

From August:

These were taken 1st of September (same plant):

Looking good, everyone! Thank for clarifying what you're growing guys. I think it will help over the long run to know what works here in NE.

Went to the patch this A.M. very dewey! I like to go early and give them a vigorous shake, get that shit off, let 'em dry quicker. That's my mold prevention tip #1! Just can't get out there every day tho.

Here's a shot of the patch showing 3 rocketwrecks and a Biddy in the back rgt.

Here's the same Biddy by herself.

Here she is up close w/ the morning dew.

Keep 'em green and stay safe!

thanks for the advice highlighter. i called around to a few garden supply stores looking for an organic treatment for the powdery mildew and found this stuff called serenade. gave my lady a nice spray down, and i plan to once more b4 harvest this weekend. i cant wait! this time of year is really exciting, and its when all the summers work pays off.

P.S- looking good everyone. :woohoo:

Using it myself to ward off mold spores.
Got a little freaked when I read what Pipeline dug up:
*
An excerpt from wikepedia about Serrinade biofungicide made by Argaquest. Bacillus subtilis is the bacterial biofungicide active ingredient.

"B. subtilis is not considered a human pathogen; however it may contaminate food but rarely causes food poisoning.[3]

Its spores can survive the extreme heating that is often used to cook food, and it is responsible for causing ropiness in spoiled bread.

Nevertheless, a strain of B. subtilis formerly known as Bacillus natto is used in the commercial production of the Japanese delicacy natto as well as the similar Korean food cheonggukjang. Other strains of B. subtilis also have commercial applications. For instance, B. subtilis strain QST 713 (marketed as QST 713 or Serenade™) has a natural fungicidal activity, and is employed as a biological control agent.[4],[5]"

I would caution people about using this toward end of flower. You could eat spores and be fine, you can eat many things, but I'm not sure if its a good idea to have alive spores being drawn into your lungs every time you smoke your flowers. Early to mid bloom season applications are likely fine, and the spores would dissipate with time and weather.

I'm not sure of the effects of inhaling these spores, but i don't want to find out the hard way.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacillus_subtilis

I'll probably apply once more to my rocketwrecks. You should only use it no more than once a wk. I go 10 days. Noticed about 2 wks. ago a few whiteflies when I shook the stalks. Thier #s have grown, so I'm thinking of dosing the plants w/ Neem. Haven't used it since june.

GO PATS!

I tried to find Serenade in Canada to no avail. I ended up with a different chemical treatment on the advise of my local grow shop. Unfortunately, it was not up to checking the spread of Powdery Mildew. Other then a few clean buds, the rest of the crop when into Hash production. :pointlaug

What I did learn from the experience, you can't keep plants in an unheated and unventelated shed when the RH% go through the roof.

i hope this is not a stupid question... but is it bad for you to smoke a bud that has powdery mildew on it? i hope not because if i can not get rid of it on my flowers i would hate to lose them. :chin:

ramero420, yeah I'd say it would be bad to inhale live spores into your lungs. Has it moved from the leaves to the buds? Best to make hash w/ any damaged buds, as well as your trimmings. Investing in bubblebags is worthwhile.
Looking good, litebuzz. Yeah, it was windy! You got me paranoid cause when I visited sat. I shook all the plants (had been raining) and the small Biddy main bud kinda flopped over but didn't break. Im taking her down tomorrow and the other Biddy before the next rain/weekend. The trichs are cloudy w/ very few ambers.

Going to buy a chainsaw tomorrow, getting serious about clearing out a patch of forest where no one goes. Started hauling in good dirt allready in prep for next year. My single surviving outdoor plant sucks though and only seems to be a few weeks into flowering last I checked a few days ago. It looks a lot like this to borrow a pic from you.

Got 14 grams from an indoor micro grow to keep me happy though.

hey everyone just stopping by to share with you a very interesting website i happened upon last night... im sure many of you have already heard of this but i figure theres no harm in posting it here anyway. its www.urbangrower.com and they claim to be the only web based show that will teach you how to achieve 2+ pounds per light.

also have a couple of quick questions. does anyone know if it is true that it is best to harves late at night/early in the morning? i read somewhere that overnight a lot of stuff that you dont want to smoke goes down into the roots, and therefore the best time to harvest would be while it is down there

my other question is whether or not i should harvest in the rain. i kind of have a real small window of time to do it since i have to go home from my college to do it and the weather report says that it is going to be raining.

Chopped the small Biddy Early today. Not one spot of mold on her, and that's half the battle in my book :woohoo:
Lots of smells going on, citrus, the skunk, and a spiciness that belies the NL heritage found in Magnus' 'Warlock'. Reminded me of NL in the trim. Very gooey stuff. Buds aren't real tight, but I could give a shit if there's no mold!
Almost half of it is going to hash. :yummy:

ramero, best time to pic is late afternoon after a sunny day. No moisture, and the sun has been beckoning the resins to build up.
Worst case scenareo, you grab 'em wet. Just make sure you get them hanging and drying or processed asap.

Looking tight, Brad Lee :sun:

Thanks Highlighter. sounds good coming from a seeming vet.

Had a few questions:
When should i trim, before or after i hang them?
How do I make hash, and what do I make it with?
What to do with the trim?

Good luck to everybody
