well the new camera is in. now i just got to figure out how to use it as its a pro model unlike the 200$ old one LOL . its been real hot. thankfully we have gotten enough rain so i havent had to water at all yet this season. DAVESNOTHERE
Been hauling water daily for about 10 days. Down to just 2 Biddy Early girls, and I kept one early expressing male for future referance. He's been isolated and the plot has been restocked w/ recently expressed 'Rocketwreck' girls.
Small yields for me this yr but should be quality herb. Pics to come as plants bulk up abit more. Peace, HL
Deft,
Get some 1" copper banding @ Home Depot or hardware store. Cut a 4" strip or so, and band it around your stalk. Sea sand would probably work between rainfalls to thwart slugs. Neem Oil or insecticidal soap for insects.
Are you growing the Durban? It just might be too equatorial to finish here. Also, if it was started late, it may take longer for them to get going. My Rocketwreck just expressed their pre-flowers, but isn't flowering yet.
Two yrs ago when I grew some started in April, they were were starting to flower by now.
My Biddys aren't too far along, and they are listed as being done end of sept-mid-oct.
Good luck!
Nah, 007 its a shit strain that others have had trouble flowering on time even under 12/12 let alone outside.
Edit: Its just got its alternating nodes a few weeks ago and is probably 4' tall with the top 2' all leafed out. I'm going to toss the 6 seeds I have left of this junk.. HA I should go toss them on the dirt behind our police station.
hi ya folks ...hope you don't mind me jumpin in on this...being in new england and all. i know it seems early but most of mine are starting to flower...or perhaps this is preflowering. its been pretty chilly at nite but i'd say its been starting since the beginning of august. this is my first outdoor grow. i did an indoor grow this past winter and loved it. turned out mint! i was posting on OG until well ya know. i see alot of folks came here...cool. i started these inside on april 21....and kept them in during the 3 weeks of rain we had back in may.
happy growing to us all!!!
well the genetics are kinda unknown...except for the fact that the few seeds i had were from my indoor grow over winter. obviously someone hermied...but it must have happened at the end because there were only about 25 seeds...randomly in a few buds, but every plant had a few seeds. i did have a white widow for sure and the rest were from good bud. not sure what crossed what. all of the smoke was great...i got about 14oz total from 7 plants so i was pleased.
i'm very new at this so i'm not sure how great the genetics will be, i know there are some varieties that don't like to be cross bred. mine was purely unintentional(and every seed germinated and ended up female)but may be prone to hermie?...i hoping it will be as good as the grow i did this winter...man they are definitely alot bigger!!! its amazing how big these things get outside, some are over 6.5ft. i'm just holding my breath and praying that the weather cooperates and nothing flukey happens that would land me in jail....that would suck...especially since i didn't plan on such trees...and only grew for personal use. i guess it may last me a few years if all goes well.
but i gotta say...they are alot of work and i've spent some $$ on potting soil and nutes of course...i've replanted them 3 times...gradually in bigger pots the last one being 2cubic ft. and watering them aint no easy chore...trekking up a mtn side. of course we have bonded so hopefully they'll do right by me.
I just planted my four from the pots I stuck the germed seeds in lol, My locations suck though so the sole survivor is only like 30" tall now. I've started clearing a spot in the woods, national park area where no one goes cept hunters somtimes (have found shells out there before) and I intend to put up posted signs at the acess points. Clearing is hard work without a chain saw lol.
CC Rider, litebuzz, welcome! The more the merrier! Hopefully w/ plants starting to flower, we'll start to see some new posters.
supermanlives, when we gonna see that new camera in action? I KNOW you got trees!
Got a little rain today, nothing like what you guys north of me have been getting. Been really slackin' on the water runs the last wk. Last time I gave them some fish fert. I have to shave up some "Irish Spring" soaps around the base of the plants, as w/o, the skunks dig 'em up going nuts for that fish fert!
Here's the Biddy male. He'll be harvested within the wk.
I'll be dusting some lower branches of this Biddy girl, probably one of the Rocketwrecks as well, just fer kicks!
Here's a shot of my main patch, showing 4 of the 7. The back plant is the bigger Biddy girl, the other 3 are Rocketwrecks.
I'll update w/ photos 1st of the month. See ya then!
hey all. this thread sure aint as popular as the old og one.i cant yet get the new expensive camera to give quality pics and its a bitch to lug around.so i managed to find another cable for the old one. it fits in my pocket unlike the bulky new fancy one LOL last pic is dave scoping out his area .
C'mon, let's see what you got!
Nice ones SML! Those 1st 2 shots Cindy?
I ended up harvesting the male and pollenating like a basdid!
Figured the light rain we're getting now, will help seal the deal.
Out of the nine Biddy Early's, I got 2 girls, 7 boys.
Out of the Rocketwrecks, I got 2 males, 7 girls.
Life works out like that!
well..... today was a sad day.... i had to pull all four of my plants they all showed there balls to me at once........but im going to be planting about 12 seeds to see if i can get something....
well where's all the new england growers????
here's a few pics. oh i also learned an important lesson: tie those babies up b4 they break a limb...i lost a nice budding limb on one of my bigger trees....how sad! it was windy last night and it broke, hanging by a shred...i tried to splice together but today it looked wilted so i may just take it off. poor thing. a momment of silence please.................
Hmm whenever I encounter fallen limbs I "splice" them back together with some wet paper towels and duct tape. It looks ghetto, but after a couple weeks is just about as good as new.
we tried...did the wrapwrap but it was wilted after the sun was out....its hanging upside down....oh well. it forced me to check on the others and i started tying them up. thats alot of error to happen in one shot(ouch)!
hey do you know of any kind of little tie wraps for plants? there's gotta be a better way than what i jury rigged. like a little harness with nooses....yeah i'm not high.
Super nice litebuzz...those are some large ladies. How many hours a light would you estimate they get a day? I'm trying to figure out some OD spots for next year and I think I may have found a good one if it gets enough light.
