New England Growers and Medical Users

Hey all,
Just wanted to put this out there.
I am on the advisory board for the Massachusetts Growers Advisory Council. Most of the bill ya'll are referring to were written and/or pushed by folks on this board. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts about bills.

Things I'm currently workin on behind the scenes and hope we can get in front of the house the session after this one...

*Research Cultivation Licenses: Lower fee exceptions for culitvators who want to work with educational stakeholders in the city to promote the medical science behind marijuana. I do not believe only RMDs (who won't cuz... profits) and hardship medicinal patients n their caregivers should bear the burden of partnering with places like MIT, MGH, Beth Izrael Deaconness etc.

*Farm Licensing: This was included in the bill in front of the house last summer. Basically allowing for cultivation licenses on farms but also allowing for 'farm stands' so they can also do small level retail on site. This is my long term dream along with my breeding projects so I'm hoping to get this through.

*Municipal Freedom for Special Use Permits/Zoning Exceptions.
e.g. The Harvest Cup in Worcester will still be restricted by smoking ban.... I think Worcester should be allowed as it's own municipatlity to issue a permit to allow for such use for a special event.

Also... social clubs are coming to Mass. FYI

I Googled Massachusetts Growers Advisory Council and got no hits. How about some info. Any provisions for farmers markets or small growers? Any revenue projections after implementation?

Bay State Repeal's original proposal has also been filed as a legislative bill by Masscann/NORML that would convert Question 4 into BSR...farmer's markets, no home grow or possession limits whatsoever, no new bureaucracy, etc. Rep. Denise Provost was the lead sponsor, the bill number has not come out yet AFAIK

I think home grow should be treated like home brewers. They don't need to have security measures which restricts outdoor growing in my interpretation of regulations.

This sounds great. I'm fearful that deep pockets will try to monopolize the cash flow in a similar way to big pharma and the alcohol industry trying to push "No On 4". Money talks and politicians who don't start off rich end up rich way too often.

I agree and think it will eventually. The greedy ones have to go for the cash grab before it settles down. Brewing beer or making alcohol is no big deal now.

NE sativa outdoors

NE sativa outdoors

Anyone have experience with sativa outside? I want to give it a try and looking for experienced NE local advice. Like what strains will finish in time @ 42.5 degrees N?

I'm newly getting back to growing more than veggies.

that's my question too! Man of us indoor growers must be thinking outdoors this summer now that it's legal.

I recently went to a presentation by a commercial grower and he suggested Cinderella99 crosses as good for this area because they finish early. You have to think any outdoor strains bred for Holland or Europe will be good too, it's cloudy there and they're even farther north.

THIS.....

Bangi Haze is one the most stabilized sativa hybrids in our collection. It is a fast flowering and easy to grow sativa that produces dense flowers, full of generous trichomes, with a sweet, floral, lemony and anisette aroma.

Strong stimulating Congolese sativa effect. Excellent choice for rainy and cold climates or for indoor growing.

Hi Guru, you and I could be neighbors. Great job getting 4 passed!

Unfortunately it appears our cowardly unpatriotic leaders are doing everything they can to oppress OUR VOICES to legalize Cannabis. Let me be perfectly EFFing clear to the Mass and US Governments -

"WE THE PEOPLE HAVE VOTED TO MAKE CANNABIS LEGAL IN MASSACHUSETTS, THEREBY REVOKING ANY FEDERAL AUTHORITY OVER THIS MATTER VIA THE 10TH AMENDMENT. >>> CANNABIS IS NO LONGER ILLEGAL, OUTLAWED, OR REGULATED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO INFRINGE ON OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO USE HIS PLANTS ANY WAY WE SEE FIT FOR ANY REASON. NO LIMIT PER PERSON OR HOUSEHOLD, GROW IN YOUR YARD AS YOU WOULD GROW BASIL, OREGANO, ST. JOHN'S WORT, ECHINACEA ETC.

IT IS TIME WE ALL START CALLING OUR STATE AND FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS TO AFFIRM OUR AUTHORITY OVER THEM, AND PUBLICLY HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE TO OUR VOTE THROUGH MAINSTREAM MEDIA REPORTING TO BRING SHAME UPON THEIR OPPRESSIVE EFFORTS.

Yes, I am a Veteran, I am an Oath Keeper, I am a 3 percenter, and am willing to fight these scumbags. Let me know how I can help.

Norfolk, Peace Out

overgrow - last weeks walking dead was much more action packed. this week made progress in the story, inspired hope, but was overall pretty lame. How will rick get all the guns? Will the new group get the job done? It looks like the Kingdom will end up fighting.

Remember the group of woman who had all their men killed by the Saviors? They had mad guns... and that lesbian, whats her face?...Tara!... will end up having to make a decision whether or not to tell the group about them and show them where they live.

sounds good to me, thank you! You should check out NEVA - get signed up w/ them and you'll get action alerts of when to call, show up for hearings etc. I met these guys at their booth at the Freedom Rally and they seemed cool:

the best things for Mass. residents to do right now is call their state legislator and state rep. and urge them to implement Q4 law with no changes. Not only because voters passed it, but give them 1 or 2 more sound bites - we shoudn't raise taxes because it will maintain the black market violence. We shouldn't mess with home grow because last year two 80-year grandparents in the state were SWAT team helicopter raided. etc.

Hey curieous,
Thanks for your service n support. I know some of the guys at NEVA well as well as the founder of the NY warriors for weed chapter. Once I get my perpetual established I'll be bringing meds to the NEVA burns.

As for politics... A lot of politicians constituents voted against this and are ignorantly doing what they think they need to, to stay in office. But many on both sides have a significant interest in educating themselves and having an informed view. Our director/lobbyist is setting up tours for Jehlan (pro q4 just named chair of the marijuana committee to start setting guidelines for implementing q4) and Lewis (nay4 but very interested in being educated, one of the group that visited Colorado before). I'm hopeful that with sufficient public grassroots support(call/email your state reps, make it overwhelming), they listen.

Between MGAC N MPAA a lot of the rights expanding bills are also going in front of the next state session. Should be interesting.

I thought I posted it before but there is a site... https://massgrower.org/#donate

It's a still quite small advocacy community and many of us are intent on protecting and expanding. Last report included the notion that there was support for a craft/boutique industry to incentivize local small batch connoisseur growers to do so. watt/weight/Sq ft type of restrictions. Just an example of what is being tossed about on capitol Hill.

Agree, except, the tax has to go up. Too many towns on the fence will balk at a 2% tax return locally. At 18%, they're getting 10%... that's harder to turn down.

I was right. Tara was put in the position to either tell the group about oceanside group or not. I was glad they got all those guns from the carnies and soldiers but I fear that the trashdump group will now have all the guns and power they need to take over. I think rick should rethink giving these people, that are super wierd, all those guns.
"THEY TAKE, DONT BOTHER." is really troubling. They let everyone else do the hard work and then they come and take it from whomever.
Sound like Negan? Its very similar.
Cant wait to see what happens to Simon when he dies! Negans right hand man. Did you know that hes the character "TREVOR" in GTA5.
My 11 y.o pointed that out to me. He loves GTA.

So you're suggesting a massive cannabis tax increase? Wow, I'm definitely not donating a penny to "Mass Growers Council"

Masscann/NORML has filed a bill that would eliminate home growing and possession limits and reduce the tax rate from 12% to 6.5%. People should donate money to Masscann, a non-profit organization.

Are you ProVerde labs?
