So who is going to run against him? A cannabis farmer perhaps for the next Gov., BUT who's going to interested in that intent? Who do you see as a better choice for the next Gov., perhaps we need to be starting a new movement... Who wants to be the next Gov.?

My balls after a long day of gardening in the summer sun could do a better job.

So I nominate my balls. :)

find a LOCAL office near you that somone is about to run un-opposed, run against them, contact the party that they are NOT affiliated with and say you want to be opposition candidate for that position.

I've seriously thought about it too, attempting to run I mean. I'm not familiar with politics, that is uncharted territory.

The thing with politics is...
I don't want somebody in that office that has a personal agenda they're using their power to work on.
These people are supposed to represent you & I & everybody else in the state, not their personal interests.
To that end, I prefer a candidate that doesn't want the job & will do what the people of the state tells them to do. They are OUR SERVANTS after all. Most people that aspire to reach that position do so with dollar signs in their eyes.
Career politicians destroy the purpose of politics with their personal agendas.

I agree with miles, if you want to get into politics as a regular Joe, gotta start local and work your way up. Win, do a good job and build a base of support, then run for something bigger. If you want to run for something big it takes a lot of money and people, the folks that back candidates aren't going to back an unknown.

Edit: you gotta leslie knope that shizz

I go to my IC, pictures & albums, upload to the forum & link from there.

I haven't figured out how to post thumbnails that pop up into full images or create galleries, however.

i think i'm tired of that conversation
seriously
i think we all have worried enough and by NOW should know how to protect ourselves and what avenue we plan on going about that - whether it's flat out non-compliance or med papering up or trying to obey all local restrictions

pretty sure if you want to know what everyone thinks about that you can go back and read the last 20 pages of this thread - go back farther and you are bound to see the conversation repeat itself with all the usual suspects involved - like some kinda anxious fractal, self repeating and unsure.

I think part of what's going on is Hickenlooper & the legislature putting on a show for the feds & various anti-cannabis groups who are easily frothed up. It's no secret that they'd like to shut down caregivers & the black market in cannabis entirely. Shutting down the black market was part of the A64 sales pitch. They're also putting up the New Admin as the boogeyman who'll kill our cash cow if we're not careful. I can't see that happening, either, but the Feds will continue to put down the hammer on people who deal interstate.

They're also getting greedy, something all too common in the whole scene. Given the explosive growth of legal weed the market share of caregivers & similar has to be very small. They'll spend dollars chasing after dimes.

Here's what I see.

Reschedule to 2. That automatically nullifies all State programs including stores. Med stores go away.

The fed's pressure States to not issue rec. licenses to stores. These stores now have no license, and oversight from the state and can do whatever the fuck they want.

Hickenlooper gets his 12 plants per house, but it's not enforceable as the "black market" thrives from Federal intervention in State supply.

Hold on, it's going to be a wild ride.

I think that's a wildly pessimistic projection. I don't think Congress will start any wars with MMJ states nor with legalized states, either. It's gone too far for that. Congress has gone so far as to prohibit the use of federal funds in prosecution of state legal mmj operations, not to mention the precedence set by the Obama Admin wrt legalization.

Cannabis prohibition cannot be sustained unless it's absolutely nationwide. It's snakebit & everybody knows it. That doesn't mean they won't try to put the squeeze on caregivers. Having to register with the state would be an impediment & a PITA for a lot of operations, particularly in hostile local jurisdictions.
