NEW Colorado Growers Thread

I was digging around in a drawer at work yesterday and I found original unopened packs of Rare Dankness (strain), Harlox and Midas. Flipped my lid for a second and then threw them in the fridge. I found the owner of the seeds and they told me they had been sitting in drawers for over a year (!!!)

I wish Tierra Rojo was still active here. I'd hung out with him a couple times some years back and he was very cool with me. Would love to see a CO based Rojo Seed company or some such shit again. Or a Grindhouse revival.

Tierra Rojo tried selling his seeds at a cannabis cup a couple years ago...and Scott from Rare Dankness called the cops on him. RD didn't like other people selling seeds.

I would take TR seeds over RD seeds...

What i need are 2 good clones that are mostly Sativa. Everything i have is looking Indica...Even my NYCD mix??? Those are supposed to be 60-40 Sativa. I wonder if the cold temps change them up sometimes.

I saw an episode of Strain hunters about N India where govt eradication efforts pushed growers higher up into the mountains & they remarked that there was more of a broad leaf expression at higher & colder altitude from what they believed to be the same seed stock.

Oh yeah- it was just such a surprise. *flipping through drawers- fipping through drawers* BAM! SEEDS! And this is going to muddy things up even more but in the same container were Highwayman and some Highwayman F2's.

The deal that they had that never went through did seem like a shady situation, yet as I do not know folks personally, its a bit easier to dismiss things as "everyone having their own side" having not heard directly from both sides myself.
Honestly, its never been relevant to me and I hear soooo many stories of "we had a deal, I gave you genetics"
Its common for cats to get genetics and then fuck off elsewhere, and although it sucks, it is to be expected... you need more insurance than a handshake these days and I often either do things "same time" or I expect to get ripped and occasionally get pleasantly surprised.

Hey Corvette Doc I have these in my stable.....cracked a pack to see what it looked like inside these packs since I have only opened the cubes of theirs before.
They're FEM, but a good combo IMHO.

It was found to be amusing that I was using it, but again, I have only heard one side of that story, so I will hesitate before being slanderous.
Credit should always be given... which brings up an additional subject... patenting strain names.
I find it to be a ridiculous "solution" to a non-problem that does more harm than good.
Lets just say for arguments sake that White Widow™ is a patented strain name.
Lets assume I wanted to hit my GG4 with white widow.
Now, without the patents, people would say it was GG4 x White Widow.
Once you add in those patents, it quickly becomes GG4 x (brazilian sativa x indian indica) in order for folks to not pay the royalties.

I put forth the contention that the patenting of strain names long-term will cause less folks to get recognition for their work, not more.

The naming of a strain seams to be more like how you'd name a pet. Can you imagine if people where trying to patent their pets name?

Hey Meow thanks for the offer. But i only grow one run a year and i must be ready to get them into the GH in a few weeks. I just don't have time for seeds this year, but would love some for next year.

I had a great White-Widow line that i back-bred from seeds out of Amsterdam. I am starting to get mad because i gave the last couple of plants and seeds to some-one to develop a strain for Tommy Chong... To date i have yet to hear or see anything about it. I DO EXPECT to at at least get a couple of first round cuts for my contribution...the truth is don't expect, nor want, anything else. It does get irritating to be ignored. It's not like i can expect to be part of something like that again so...

Hey guys, I am REALLY stuck. I don't know if i should even bother with a med lic this year. I was already cutting back to 16 spots when the state mysteriously came up with the same number as a max for home grows.
Keeping a lic may protect me from pueblo's anti-GH rules. But I don't know if a lic is really going to help...just guessing that it might.
With trump popping off about bringing states back into line and prosecuting...from what? Raids? the orangutan doesn't have enough grey matter to even parrot lines on this. Who is threatening? I think now is a good time to follow the money trails in dc.

Couple hundred bucks, depending on the size. I've heard like 225-250 for a 48 count.

The state's new rules from HB1220 may make it impossible to ever use that count though, unless you get a variance or your county doesn't want to go with the 1220 plant count rules and opts out. Or they'll say you need an agriculture property.

Hey fellow Colorado growers I've been growing and learning about growing bud here in this great state since I moved here in 1999. The only part that sucks is the harvesting process due to the dry climate in this part of the state.

I have 1 Dr. Who at Day 17 Veg. right now under two floros. Gonna be outside once it gets big enough next month.

A friend tells me that the Pres. office put out a budget and under money pledged for federal intervention of state marijuana laws: $0

??? This administration is the most confusing piece of work. If that's true then you're better off just evaluating against Pueblo.

The Doc i have used the last 4 years charges about $80 for regular visit/plant count. He will not go over 24 (my bet it is 16 now,i have not checked), and charged me $120 for an 18 plant count...I do do get a big discount because he can't beleive i am still alive...I am a test case to him.
I would prefer to keep him since the consistency through the state just shows there is little chance for illegal giant grow from me.
I just don't know if it is worth it now with that 16 plant rule going into effect in a month or 2???

And i want to sue pueblo over the GH rules...just can't till they try to bust it. Legal BS.
