Steadily spreading mould and most trichomes being cloudy and amber were the factors that made me take this NJ down...heavy smells reminiscent of cocoa and vanilla...

so this makes 2 years in a row u got bud rot from NJ right? i also have 85-100% during plants full flower so i am gonna give the NJ a try along with the bangi. do u use any type of prevention sprays for mold like greencure, actinovate, & sernade if u are keeping it organic?

Thanks MadMac, koles[cz], orfeas and ThaiBliss for sharing your outdoor Nepal Jams :)

I'm glad the strain is still working good for outdoor growers, it's not a big plant or big yielder, but very rarely its harvest is lost due bad outdoor conditions.

Dubi which has better mold resistance the Nepal Jam or Bangi haze? i thanks

Hi Kygiacomo!
Unfortunately my growing premises are very humid with infrequent exceptions plus a lot of wild vegetation & bamboo patches that make it even worse...mould and stem rot issues almost every season...higher up in the hills would be ideal, more airy and drier spots but too many a goat plundering...
Next season I'll try and get me hands on some of the stuff you're mentioning...see if they're any good since some folks swear in them.

As for NJ & BH, the latter seemed to be more resistant...

I think it depends on the particular phenotype. My Jamaican dominant Nepalese Jam is bullet proof. I left my Nep Jam out longer than any other plant this year, several others of which got moldy. The Nep Jam endured 4 or more cold drizzles and many cool foggy mornings without a spec of mold. One foggy day, I was looking it over and noticed that the spicy notes of the aromas, including syrupy sweet, suddenly increased dramatically, and I just "knew" it was time to harvest. It had been looking ripe for a week or more, but that one day it suddenly just smelled spicier.

I love that plant. I like the high of some of the Bangi Haze phenos better, but the genes in my delicate looking Nep Jam are for sturdy-ing up wimpier plants. I plan to use the 60s Lambsbread pollen to make seeds from my NepJam.

Hey Orfeas thanks for the explanation. also get ur self some chitosan. it activates the plants SAR and helps the plant fight off mold. i have very high humidity here in the south east usa that i have to battle as well. ive never had stem rot though only bud rot issues, which is why strain choice is crucial. im gonna run both the bangi and nepal and see what does best here at 37.5 n lat. i have found that treating the plant before u get any bud rot is alot easier to control then it is after u get it.

Not the pheno I have, but I have only grown one. My most dense strain this last summer was LA Confidential. It turned out very good, but I was hoping it would not because it was a mold magnet. I first noticed mold shortly after I saw a cloud go across my line of sight to the sun. I like that LA Confidential high, it has rock hard buds, but I hate the damned plant. I had to toss about 10% of the buds.

ive heard good things about that strain. the most dense buds i had this year was by far the Incredible bulk. u can drop a nugget on a glass table right now and it will make the thump sound like u dropped a gravel on it. it finished 3rd week in sept with zero mold & the its potent as hell. i couldnt find no info at all on the IB last year when i ordered it. i basically just read the description and i bought 1 seed from pick-n-mix to test it out. i got a whole pack now for next year. if it performs like it did this year again it will be earning a spot beside my prized Delahaze for a very, very long time to come

The Nepal Jam male I kept makes pollen in veg, kind of messy.

Should I toss him, was hoping to use his pollen for some wild card
crosses.

Cuttings won't root, so I am stumped.

Hey DC, what size is the pot that you have your NepJam male in? Might be the case that it's root bound and is producing flowers because of it.

If it won't clone I'd bin it and look for others.. Before you trash the plant collect some pollen and freeze it if you believe the cut is a nice expression.

Kalib, that Nepal Jam is root bound, should've thought of
that as my other auto gets the roots trimmed to keep her in check.

It's a Zamaldelica, from the first release a couple years ago.

I'll rinse off the coco root ball and trim up them roots on
that pesky Nepal Jam and post back results in a few weeks.

Thanks again for the tip!

My family and I all loved Incredible Bulk. Popped 4 all the same basically just some have heavier fruit taste and smell imo. Great plant in structure/yield and potency. Only reason it isn't in my Albums is because that was before I started taking photos and keeping records. She would do beautiful in a scrog set up. I would also have this as a keeper because it finishes fast 8-9 weeks. Would also like to note that it taste/smells and smokes so much better with a month or so cure. Hard to stay away from but if you do it's well worth it.

Nepjam leaf formation

Nepjam leaf formation

This my first go at running seeds from Ace and am looking forward to some fantastic plants. I purchased some Nepalese Jam along with Zamaldelia, Panama, Destroyer (CBG) back in Oct 15' from SB and have had some trouble with germ rate and some interesting leaf formation from the NJ. The package date is 7/2011 and received 10/2015 from the boutique so they sat for a bit which really shouldn't be a problem unless they where not stored correctly. Of 6 seeds planted only 2 came up. This has never happened to me with viable seeds but sometimes shit happens...such is this game. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone that has grown nepjam has encountered leaf growth like the left plant in the picture. Both are growing slowly in light warrior soil from FF. I have seen some NJ grows here and haven't seen this crinkle deformed leaf thing on a seedling. I suppose it could be the soil or environment but I started several other seeds and didn't observe this trait and the plants are further ahead in growth. Anyone see this before?

So good news is that plants are doing fine and the soil was to blame for the plants behavior. Growing fast and healthy. Bad news is that they are both males. I have four seeds left and hope my luck is better than with the previous 6 seeds. I really want to try this line. I see Ace seeds has a lovely web site; perhaps my luck will be better if I purchase from them directly next time around.

Hi Jahaze,

Sorry to hear both Nepal Jams were males. Old seeds coming from inbred lines can produce seedlings with crinkle deformed leaves in their first stage of life, to later grow normally as you have experienced. Wish you have the chance to experience this nice strain in the future. Nepal Jam has been breed 2 generations more since 2011.

I have a single Nepalese Jam from female seed this year. I've bent her down and I'll see how she takes it. Rough treatment for sure. Oh and sorry for lopsided pics. I always forget that ic doesn't like portrait pics.

NepJam reg @40 days, NepJam fem early flower

NepJam reg @40 days, NepJam fem early flower

Really beautiful plants each in her own right. The girl from reg is immensely vigorous, long internodes + stretch, slow to flower, (opposite of fem) and has pink pistils when OD, likes light nutes (and just started getting them) and looks like a killer. Fat little pistils in clusters and chunky calyxes.
The little fem babe is a stout column of hairs, whose veins in the lower leaves can be purple. Also just hitting her stride and started in more stable conditions than sis.
