being a fellow WA~stonian... i can feel U'r PM pains... last year had to give in and kill everything...along w/ sulfur burn the crap out of my room... followed by clean out... repaint and start all over.... some time it's the only way... yes... it's in the air in the PNW...and w/ fight it like mortal combat....

Yes, I'm going to be following a similar routine myself. I'm moving my teenagers outdoors to finish and shutting down my ladies area. My wife is leaving for a few days so I'm going to be sulfur burning in the cellar. It'll stink up the house but I'll open the doors and windows. I've had to do this before when my wife was home. I almost got kicked out of the house for it.

after the sulfur burn.... U should , BOMB the room for and hidden bugs....then bleach the shit out EVER surface in the room....then air that thing out.... I've also done this before in the dead of winter.... and an additional 3 days of freezing temp will also help w/ the little fuckers....clear my space up well.... I'm dropping ladybugs this year... and nematodes.....

I haven't had any bugs (mites) in over a year (knock on wood) and my cellar never gets below 58 degrees. I've had PM before and cleared it up. I was just unfortunate to get some flooding in the cellar in November and again in February. When I left of a week in March I came back and had all 8 ladies in bad PM shape. I saved them for the seeds I was breeding and now I've almost got it cleared up. Tomorrow I'm going to sulfur burn in the tweeners area and on Friday I'm going to sulfur burn in the teenager area. Once I have harvested these last ladies I'll tear out all the panda film and drench the walls, ceiling and floor with baking soda solution followed by a bleach solution. The ladies area will be shut down until next fall so crossing my fingers that I'll be okay. If I get a chance I'll sulfur burn in the ladies area too. I have to wait for the wife to leave town though. She's heading for SF tomorrow so open all the windows and burn away. LOL.

Sulfured the tweeners area and it didn't stink up the house too badly. The cellar was bad but I wore a good mask and got the burner out okay. It's the same mask I use when I'm mixing up my soil. I didn't smell any sulfur but it did burn my eyes just slightly. I was out of there in about 30 seconds.

If the PM follows you OD:

I had some OD plants get some PM 2 years back, hung light plastic over my trellising, hung the sulphur burner in the tent for 3 days - 4 hour cycles.
Moved it to the next plant, took care of all of them.
Best to do it at night as not to sweat your plants in the sun.

Sounds like good advice. My wife is in SF and my granddaughter is still in school so for the last 2 days I've opened all the windows in the house and fired up the sulfur burning in the cellar.

My wife works Mondays and my granddaughter has school for the next 3 Mondays so I'm going to burn on those 3 days. I haven't seen any PM on the teenagers and they're the ones I'm running outdoors.

The house has stayed mostly sulfur order free with the windows opened. The cellar on the other hand smells bad during the burning but I turn on the exhaust fans and leave the cellar door open and it clears out in a couple of hours.

Gotta do what you can.
I'm all about keeping the peace at home.
Henceforth my grow areas are all away from the house.

PM seems to anticipate procrastination :smokey: < An actual PM spore :moon:
Also like many micro organisms, partial treatment builds resistances.
Much use due diligence in full treatments or risk sulphur tolerance.

I hear that. My goal was to knock down any spores that were lying around in the area. My teenagers and tweeners are clean at the moment so hopefully they will stay that way.

I'm starting to approach the results from my pheno hunt. Today I trimmed Old Goblin. This is a cross between Goblin Queen and either Eminem or MTV because it was an open pollination. This girl smelled like grapes when she was growing but dried she has lost that smell. The smell and flavor are light skunk marijuana as I see it. The quality is as good as anything in my cellar. I have a clone of her in the pheno hunt area. I'll be moving her into the tweeners area soon and seeing how she does under 1000W MH lights.

I'm happy to discover that not only does the smell come across with the seeds but also the quality. The only other breeding I have found is 3M. This is a cross between MIldred and Eminem. She turned out to be good enough to make it into the rotation. She also shows signs of PM resistance.

This old males from the breeding of my old grow buddy are turning out to be a great find of old genetics. I still have 2 Purple Stars, 2 3Elders and some Panama Red yet to sample. The Panama Red isn't one of my breeding but from seeds I got elsewhere. I hope the others surprise me as much as Old Goblin has.

This morning I cleaned and sampled Purple Star #1. She was the colorful one I posted pictures of a couple of weeks back. I'm not as sure about the quality on this one. Don't misunderstand this by thinking she isn't that good. What I'm saying is she is borderline and I will have to wait for finally judgement after I run her clone through my regular regiment of lights. She isn't as good as the Old Goblin I sampled a few days ago.

A while back I was approached by a unemployed lay about for giving me some help in the cellar. He laid down this hard luck story about losing his tail. At first I thought he was talking about his girlfriend in somewhat derogatory manner. So I said I'd try him one but until he proves himself to be a valuable asset to the cellar I'm only paying him in bugs he can catch.

I haven't seen him for weeks and then he shows up in the cellar again. I asked him where he'd been and he said, "Around but not always in sight". Mostly I noticed that he is spending a lot of time growing out his tail and not doing much work. I harvested 3 plants, Goblin Queen, Nocturnal and Northern LIghts #5, emptied the pots and added 1/4 cup of neem cake, kelp meal and crab meal to each pot of soil. All he did is soak up heat and watched me work.

My lizard volunteer has left my tent. Had built him a rock fort and everything. Or has burrowed into a pot...idk. figure he left and went back to the yard now that the heat is back.

Getting real close to harvesting some of my gals PAK.

Well I unfortunately didn't smoke my Old Goblin. Infested with Russet mites. I hang dried her anyway just so I could pick through her for seedstock more easily. I found my pheno didn't lose her pungent grape scent all the way through drying. I ended up tossing her in the dumpster out back. I could smell it from 15 ft away after 8 days of drying. Next day she was gone....some homeless dude probably smoked her and washed it down with a tall boy of Steel Reserve.....poor guy.

I got around to sampling 3Elders #4 pheno plant. To me it has the marijuana smell and taste. The quality is worth running in my normal routine to decide whether she is a keeper or not.

So far I've been pleased with the pheno run plants that I've kept to sample. I started with 6 seeds from 6 cultivars (3Elders, Goblin Scepter, Old Goblin, Purple Star, Panama Red and Konga). The Panama Red and Konga are true sativa and are still growing. I don't think I'll run these again.

Out of the 36 seeds 22 made it to 4" pots. Of those 22 plants 8 were males and 4 got tossed because I didn't like the looks of them. That left me with 10 plants to take a closer look at. I'm now down to 3 ladies that have earned the right to be further examined and are in 2 gallon pots.

I'm very pleased with the quality results I've gotten from these cultivars but not as pleased about the structural characteristics of many of the pheno plants. So it seems that there are some gems to be found but also some not good enough for Pakalolo's Cellar.

I've got more coming to be looked at in my next pheno run. Right now I've got a variegated Goblin Girl x MTV, 3M x MTV, Pimp Daddy #1 x MTV, Pimp Daddy #5 x MM and 3M x MM (back cross to the male). These are a few months from being sampled and not even sexed yet.

Great or good we still get to burn the results.

20 seeds down to 10 females to 3 noted for re-runs. Some aren't going to be big yielders. One each Purple Star, Old Goblin & Goblin Septer. Maybe one or two more might hop on if they don't go past 12weeks. Smells are great. From the lovable grape of the GQ to some very marijuana funky smelling buds. Fun times ahead.

I just came across a few seeds from the bob marley 9 mile ranch... supposedly the exact cultivar that bob marleys cousin grows to this very day... I sincerely hope its legit...
I'm still getting stocked up for when I can do a sativa run...

I'm running some sativa now. Panama Red and Konga are both true sativa. The buds are fluffy and they are taking a long time to mature. I don't think I will run them again though.

Peace, Pakalolo. Just read your first post on this thread. Thanks for the welcome.

Lot of catching up to do with 68 pages.

Those sound awesome, Sea. Will be nice to smoke up and listen to the man sing. Know you will make the most of some special seeds.
