Holy CRAPPAGIOLOA!! I finally found my put-away-too-well PH meter, and checked my Ph, and WOWOW it comes out at 8.9!!! no wonder my roots aint doin all that well!! actually after calibrating the meter it came out at about 8.0, and it took an assload of GH PH Down to take it down to 5.7. it immediately started creeping back up and was at 5.9 by the time i left the ... ahem prep area (master bathroom). im a bit disappointed as i thought the GH floranova was supposed to be buffered and far more stable than that! but i guess with the biologicals and enzymes tearing ass in there, there is only so much the buffers can do! i have a nice milwaukee SMS-122 continuous-monitoring meter with double-junction probe, so i can keep track of it from now on at a glance. oh well, at least now i can stay on top of it! (BEWARE of putting stuff away while s t o n e d ! ! ! ! ;-P

brewing another batch of nutes

brewing another batch of nutes

it seems like the roots are VERY much liking the fact that the PH isnt over 8.0 now! the plant's growth seems to have exploded just since last night. but im going to change the nutes anyways since its been a week (although current batch has just been bubbling away, not really been used up since last week, but whatever). so i got out the second air pump (LOUD/cheap $10 wallyworld one.. just use it for bubbling nutes) and am bubbling at 5.5PH for a few hours (all nutes/additives minus the subculture) and will add the subculture after some of the chlorine has been blown out, then finally transfer the plant to second bucket later tonight... checked the light LS and K-train and sogtub, all STILL 100% cloudy!! :chin: :pointlaug :lurk: :lurk: :lurk: :lurk: :joint:

also the veg box is officially now a second flower box, light-tight and on same schedule as main flowerbox as of tonight... :woohoo:

Good detective work ts - they should continue exploding, happy that their water is back in the range.

:D

well, i made the nutes swap with the second bucket. i need to WARM UP the nutes now since theyre about 55degF at the moment!

in other news, i was checking trichromes on the SOGtub, and i found a little (i mean SUPERTINY) yicky white larvae-looking worm on one of the tiny bud leaves! i killed it and immediately got the creeps. i might shoot the whole thing with some soapy water, i hope the little bugs dont infest the rest of everything in there.. DAMMIT!!! :badday:

on the yet-to-bud plants i might try some home depot pesticide, and on the almost-ready plants im lookin at SICKSTY THREE DAYS NOW!!! still 100% cloudy, should i chop anyway now?? :chin::chin::chin:

OK, at day 70 i finally saw some amber in the K-train, so it got put into its 48-hour dark period before chopping. i actually have had the light lifesaver bush and sogTUB in dark already, and chopped them last night! i chopped the bush WHOLE, and it is now hanging in the dark upside down. i had to TRIM it in the dark, which was quite an adventure... my hands were DANK by the time i got done with that! and the sogtub, same deal. i definitely will trim BEFORE moving them into dark next time, then i can just chop and hang, and keep the dark going as they use up the last bits of sugars and whatnot (one hopes) and finalizes itself...

i have to say i am trying the dark period thing as a matter of faith, because it doesnt really make sense to me (in nature it doesnt suddenly turn totally dark and stay dark...), plus i have heard opposing "science" on it, namely from AN who says the dark period kills THC levels. please note i hate AN and dont believe a word uttered from their camp. so im trying the dark period.

and finally, i just put the DWC into flower! so this is DAY ZERO for the DWC in flower (making notes to myself.. lol)

edit: i purchased FoxFarm ocean forest soil for this round of transplants,, i havent transplanted anything yet due to being out of soil and being out of space in the flowerbox/vegbox(flowerbox2). also picked up some pk13/14, going to have to find out when to add that exactly...

sounds like a good harvest. so you chopped the plant and then trimmed it in the dark? once the plant is dead light shouldnt have any effect on it whatso ever

i dont think it really dies until water stops moving inside it, which is probably at least a few hours (++??) after its chopped,,,, i just wanted to keep the dark period going (if youre going to do something, do it all the way...) as they finally *did* die, upside down with a fan blowing on them (lightly), all trimmed up and ready to DRY... i think i will let the bushes dry all together, aka not chopped up into buds, for at least a week to let all the water inside the stems to migrate to wherever its going to end up... slowdry i guess... unless i shouldnt! on this like almost everything else you hear yes/no, pro/con etc...

i took pics but am too lazy (i need my sativa back!) to post em... ill do em as a batch when i can get the pics of them hanging etc...

BUBBLES!!

Roots: That dark staining is just the floranova ... its all good!

DWC LST BUSH at day one of flowering...

DWC in the flowerbox (need to raise it up!)

flowerbox with last plant added, blocking view of DWC (which will be raised up tomorrow!)

vegbox overcrowding!!! what to do with TOO MANY plants!!???? :)

went ahead and jacked up the DWC...

as you can see im trying to "surround" the bulb with plants, some of them are getting side lighting mostly a la a vertical setup... more surface area hit with more lumens! ;)

I THINK IVE FOUND THE CLEANER!!!

I THINK IVE FOUND THE CLEANER!!!

okay, this plant here:

I cut the other day. It now hangs upside down in the closet. However, I took a lower branch and separated it for quick drying, and we just sampled it.

HOLY FUGHK!!! this stuff is POTENT! and it has a pinesol "household cleaner" smell/taste to it. my sis who is my caretakeee is now talking her eyes out! WOWWOWOWOWOw this is nice.... ;-)

also its vaping up a storm! we're using a "supreme vape" and it is really producing a ton of vap0r!!

i think i took the "dark" plant a bit early, but it turns out this is the keeper pheno... the BEST part is, this is the pheno that is currently bubbling away in the DWC, which is set to blow up given how long it has been vegging/rooting!! :lurk:  :joint:

edit: the quick-dried buds themselves smell very fruity, a bit of candy grape smell, but like i said, smell CLEANER when vaped! this is good right? ive heard of the cleaner pheno... with the LST and abuse (had to attack hermie spots on this plant) its hard to get a feel for what the plant would look like normally... when its been hanging a few more days (its been in dark since 48 hours before chop.) well maybe i can snap a pic tomorrow when i chop and hang the K-train. would a single camera flash mess up the "dark" period? oh fuck it i will just wait... ;)

if you plan on using the sog tub again deffiently veg longer. next time instead of timming in the dark just let them dry with their leaves on if you want. bud is looking awesome man that purple lifesaver looks great at 70 days shes goona kick your ass. the pheno's may vary in potency but keep in mind they flowered different amounts of time too.

yeah, definitely need to veg a bit longer for that method. or use a smaller tub to start out with, then transplant. actually both of those things!

and yes, i probably took the dark one very early. there are a few sog clones of that same dark pheno so i can do a direct comparison later after they dry and cure a while.

and as far as the trimming thing, i will simply do that before the last dark period, then it will be pre-trimmed for the in-the-dark chop after the plant has been left for the full 48hours in the dark, then chop in dark, hang in dark. first look 1 week later... surprise surprise (hopefully good!) :yummy:  :joint: :lurk:

Congrat ts! Looks like you got a Purple Jack's Cleaner pheno! What more can I say than PRIMO! Save that mother and clone the chit outta her. Hope I find that one in my last few LS seeds, but I'd be happy with a non-purple JC pheno too.

Happy smoke-out happenin soon at ts' place... :joint:

i didnt know the cleaner pheno was supposed to be purple, also. let me run down a few more traits to see if they match up:

light leaks caused interesting/weird hermie spots:

got off to slow start:

but ended a bigger yeilder than other LS pheno (cleaner pheno is bottom right two, and keep in mind these buds were pinched to remove those hermie spots:

that dark pheno was actually taken early too it seems, i must have mis-judged the trichs. i have to say i am so damn baked right now! vaped out of my mind. sis has nighmare migranes and it seems to be helping with those too.

that amazing 4-chamber speakerbox grow makes me want to try to keep a mom or two of this pheno even tho i have to shut down this grow and move away for three months. its possible i can leave a bonzai stealthbox with a caretaker while we are gone, to just keep alive until we get back!! hmm i have been shopping for PC fans... any ideas for micro-micro mom-keeper box?

a few more of my plants...

a few more of my plants...

first here is a re-potting I did the other night,,, some radical LST on this one left the canopy uneven, so by re-potting it at an angle that is corrected...

the plant before re-potting (was completely rootbound, and needed full-resoak of water/nutes every two days),, note outside layer of roots cut apart/removed...

here is the malawi x mango hybrid "xmas tree"... last transplant i planted this at an angle (in opposite manner as above pic) to force side growth. at the next-transplant, i put it back vertical. this would have been a single-cola plant otherwise...

this plant has exploded in GIANT WRECK fashion... this is a rare "giant" pheno of normal arcata trainwreck, despite it being in a small pot for a LONG time, its still exploded in growth... this is only about halfway through the stretch! (i hope i have room!!!!! ;)

started using the PK 13/14 in very light dosages, and im anxious to see what happens. I used it on the malawi mini-xmas tree, the SEEDSOG (which is looking NICE, im going to have some SEEEEEEEEEEEDDSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!), and one of the other lifesaver clones... DWC is looking good.

I also added another light to the box, a 65w CFL right above the DWC, in the back-left corner of the cab. it is plugged into the fan, which stays on while lights out, so i have to remember to unplug it before the lights do go out.. today i forgot so im now back 2 hours on the schedule, midnight to 11am lights off.

also vaped a sample of the K-TRAIN, interesting high, more "up" than the LS, will be interesting to try it properly dried/cured.

still blazin' scissorsstyle!!

still blazin' scissorsstyle!!

I got a PM asking what im up to, so i thought id update this thread. honestly i ve just been busy with other things, not to mention suddenly having a ton of bud around makin me LAZE-EEEEE .. :pointlaug :moon: :chin:

I took a ton of pics last night, but again cant find the cable to connect camera to pc, so they will have to wait.

The DWC is going strong, i just changed nutes last night, and i tell you the hygrozyme and FN combo is fantastic. so far as i can tell anyways! i kept forgetting to manually unplug the extra 65w CFL in the main flower chamber so im probably a week or more behind my "schedule". i finally de-lazed myself and ran the cord out the back (having to re-do the lightproofing)... the DWC was doing some HERMIE!-ing due to some light leaks from veg chamber but i got them taken care of and now also have the two chambers on the same schedule (veg is also flowerbox too actualy now as you may recall...)

other than that, the usual trials and tribulations of a cab grow. I vacuum off the intake filter about once a month, i should really change it again however... also im doing the lollypop method of removing the lower stuff that isnt getting hit by the light. my plants are PACKED in there so only the tops are getting light, so why waste plant energy on little sucker action down below?? oh, wait, now that i put it THAT way... :p

hopefully i can find the camera cable soon.... ;)

TOTAL oh god DISASTER... i stupidly unplugged the main blower during lights off to save power and forgot to turn it back on... total roastage!!! 400w was blazing for FOUR hours unvented, and temps soared to 130degrees. The DWC is TOAST, a few other plants' tops' are TOAST. I cut the DWC way back and threw it back into veg.. ive also got a couple of clones going, one in a bubbler and one in volcano rocks. we shall find out which is faster! ;)

YES THIS IS WHY I CALL MYSELF THE SCISSORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SUCKR$%)(*&R^TULIHGOUPJ:LKMHLKUWEhrOHJ@:(

I just read through your entire thread man and I got to tell you I'm really impressed.
I like how you document everything you think of adding and changing in your design and of course a picture tells a thousand words so you score major points for that also.

Shit happens to us all, don't beat yourself up about the mistakes you make along the way, as long as you learn from them you can only get better right? :joint:

You've given me some cool new ideas to try out for myself, thanks man!

I'll look forward to seeing your next round of ladies flowering in there :lurk:
