yah, sometimes i like that "basking in orange glow" pictone... those budshots are fairly close-up (macro mode) otherwise ida used the camera flash (would shoot right over the subject that close up...) ;)

MORE PICS!!:)

MORE PICS!!:)

I did some lower pruning and removal of dead leaves, etc., and then some more LSTing to try to maximize the # of budsites.

side shot of one of the Lifesavers... LOW, wide LST canopy...

i took this one out of the cab for better light... shows the "true" color (apart from the flash issue):

BUSHIE!!! (not the idiot bushie, the good kind :sasmokin: )

and the WANNASTRETCH K-train... strapped down!!!!

cant wait to see all those budsites PUFF UP! :)

Okay i thought i had an issue but...

Okay i thought i had an issue but...

upon looking at these close-ups ... i think I am OK... what do you think?

This is day 14 of 12/12, close up of some of the budsites on my Lifesavers... Looking at them with my naked eye, it looks like the white pistils are drying up and falling off... but i think on closer examination they are looking normal?? I *DID* have some light leaks early on, so, maybe back it up a few days in terms of true 12/12, but on the calendar this is about the beginning of week three/end of week two of flower (roughly).

see how the tips of the pistils are twisted and whatnot?? Im using GH Floranova, the plants look NICE other than this... am I just being paranoid? I will post this in the infirmary too..... :)

what!!!
i have the same problem with pistols that are shriveled, i too thought they were pollenated last grow but trust me all savers do that for some reason or at least in my experience

Man, can't believe I missed this - a lifesaver microgrow :woohoo: They're looking good from here. The older pistils on mine can dry up when she stresses. Nice training - nice and bushy! Lovin the macros too

GOBBLE GOBBLE!!

I am thankful for these genetics and their missing in action yet well-legended breeder; i am thankful for WOODHORSE SEEDS  for the highly kind availability of said genetics and ... oh my god,,, so many more which i will someday grow out!; i am thankful for a ton of other shit nobody else cares about... :moon: :chin:

anyways, due to absolute lack of space in the main flower chamber, i have decided to convert my 200w CFL vegbox into a ... possibly 400w CFL flowerbox... I have this possible DWC about to be ready to root, and that means that yes, i am really out of space in there. i mean, my LST bushes are already taking over. I may YET have to put bake-arounds around my bulbs because (OH GOD PLEASE!!! ) the LST bushes i think are going to grow into the bulbs!! or at least into burning distance. they are 12" right now... where is that distance-to bulb chart someone posted... ;)

and thanks mrgreengenes ;)... i have been stressing them just a bit... lashing them down just about as far down as I possibly can... ;) Hopefully they will now take off and BLOOM!! :joint:

okay i came up with a shield idea.......

okay i came up with a shield idea.......

Alright, man i am tired... but anyway, i took the time to do a google SketchUP drawing of my glass shield idea. the point would be to let the plants basically grow up against the glass itself if necessary. the stanley blower is situated perfectly to operate as a combination blower for both the "shields" and the rest of the box. anyways, here is the idea... anybody know how to get sheets of Pyrex?? :)

I will have to do this pretty soon.... the plants have grown about an inch over the past day or two!

here is another possibility i came up with....

15566shield-idea2-detail.jpg

here the shields would be closer to the lamp, which would probably increase the cooling power by increasing the velocity of the air flowing over the bulb/s... could be adjusted tighter even possibly... also this gives a bit more headroom (albeit slight). the idea there is as you can see ducting put into a hole in the glass, either passively or with a muffin-fan pusher/helper to move the air towards the stanley blower's intake. I think a 4" with the output right near the "main" blower intake would create the necessary vacuum there and pull air over the bulbs without the aid of two additional fans....

also it just occured to me that id want to keep the glass as much as possible at a right angle to the bulb output because the longer the angle through the glass, the more light energy is absorbed by it. i think pyrex passes only like 91% of the light fired at it at a 90deg angle as it is...

i bought a big jar of "ultra-activated" carbon at the local pet shop for $20, so i can finally make myself a proper carbon filter!! i just need windowscreen and a few hours now.. ;) i need about a 1" layer of the stuff, correct? :)

Your plants gonna have a better home than I do. All they need as a big screen, and a brew or two.

Fuck it, where you live? Im movin in!

hehe ;)

here are some pics from this evening!

the general canopy (!)

here is the first of two different phenos im growing.. can you identify which these might be? this is the "darker pheno", originally my best-looking plant which i took the first clones from:

this is the lighter-green pheno.... it was VERY LIGHT GREEN for a while until i started feeding it the GH FloraNova at decent rates... it still remains a bit lighter than the first plant...

the K-train:

the SOGTUB: these should be all from that LS#1 plant but they are looking a bit different from each other.. at least in height. But that could be a roots thing....

the DWC clone, bubbling away and in its first day of 12/12....

the vegbox! (running out of room in here too!!)

i also put this into a growroom forum thread... but here is my idea for a carbon filter for this box... basically convert the existing foam-surround silencer into a four-sided carbon filter... should yeild about 400+sq.in. of scrubber surface area, or the equivalent of eight 8" vents... (i have one 8" vent as intake)..

will be a bit of work to make the screen panels up, but it should be doable! :)

Man, you sure have a stable of lifesavers! Could be the flowering lighter green pheno 2 is a heavier feeding pheno - I know mine has a big appetite in early to mid flower. The K-Train is looking very vigorous too

Like your design ideas, you could be a draftsman! A 3 sided carbon filter - great idea.

its actually a four-sided idea!! (includes bottom ;))

BUT

I was thinking i might start by indeed making it three-sided, by keeping the back solid (its up against a wall anyway), and put a 2" thick piece of foam on it, on the inside, to help to absorb sound. Even one piece of foam makes a big difference when i take all the stuffing out of the existing silencer....

this is what i love about sketchup

this is what i love about sketchup

i can prototype different ideas and figure things out "on paper" before committing myself to material destruction!

i took the time this time to actually model the cagework and frames for the actual filters, so i could figure out a) exactly how much carbon i needed, and b) exactly how much surface area of filter i will end up with. The answer=297.

Now on raw open area space, that is basically 300inches, or six 8" round ducts. I've lost a full two ducts worth with my frames idea. Is this going to be enough to pass enough CFM? Im also worried about noise... i will put a thick piece of foam on the INSIDE wall, and leave the cab an inch or two away from the wall to let the back panel breathe also.

Does anyone know if this will be enough surface area to FLOW the big CFMs i need to cool 800w? :) again, assuming 1" thick scrubbers...

obvously the frames are removable, and i can leave them out in the sun to recharge the carbon, or if i use metal screens, even put them in the oven... hmm maybe a more efficient metal framework would be better.... hmmmmmm..... possibly some wandering-around homedePOT time is in my future.... ;)

Great thread and they look wonderful, I think. I have had plants that the pistils have shriveled up one me and I could always trace it back to some type of stress: I had my lights to low and it got too hot. I went on vacation and they got too dry, they bounced back but I had those dead pistils.
Also it seems that it kinda depends on the strain, some seem heartier than others and can take more stress than others.

Who is that sexy guy in your avatar???....hot, hot, hot!!!!
