Mulanje from Malawi

6 days on and things are starting to look good.
6 days on from last update.
I have a carbon filter attached running 5 mins every 2 hours as the purple striped male in particular stinks ha ha.
The plants are getting heavily pollinated now I will remove the males soon as I'm sure enough pollen has flown now.
First a group shot.

My favorite so far has been heavily pollinated by the purple stemmed male and selected buds by the green male.

Then the tall lanky one has had both pollens.

Then the purple stemmed female next to it again both males.

Lastly the three miniature clone seeds.

The three small ones will get free air pollination.
I had some of their mothers cob yesterday and its a Zulu for sure these should produce great seeds.
When I deseed each plant I will keep the different phenos seeds separate until I have tested the cobs so I grow only the best next grow.

thanks brother they are all pollinated now so the seeds should hopefully be ready end of July early August.

These seeds were planted on the 11th May and germinated 48 hrs later, except for the 3 tiny selfed seeds that were planted a week later and also germinated within 48hrs.
By my reckoning this is week 8 from seed week 5 from flower first showing. Currently on 9 hrs light a day.
Almost every bud is showing signs of seed development so I'm happy as Larry at the moment.
The buds are super resinous and finishing fast with any luck by the end of 8 weeks flowering the seeds should be fat and sexy.

I noticed the short fat single cola pheno true to form chucking a few male flowers. This has never worried me as they usually do this at the end of flower and the seeds are always female clones of the mother.
The other pheno the taller Christmas tree pheno with the huge central cola does not hermie but is not as common. I only have one from the 4 regular seeds.
Of course the 3 seeds from the outdoor hermie plant are all female as usual, but would probably show a few males if I grew them seedless like a normal grow for heads.

First up the king big dick cola pheno that hermies ever so slightly at the end of flower.
You can spot the single male flower in the second pic.

Next up the tall Christmas tree pheno this is the biggest producer normally but takes a week longer to fully flower.
I haven't ever seen male flowers on this pheno.
The high is the most colorful with continuous changes in effects as the high builds very tasty as well.

Then the rest which are basically the fruit of their mother and would produce huge fat central colas if left un pollinated.
This high is the most true to my memories of good Malawi very intense and cocaine like at first and can be overpowering but in a euphoric energizing way.
giving way to trippy fun and laughter my favorite high.

These first two pics of the last three are the 3 tiny seeds from the outdoor plant are a week behind the others but all basically identical to their mother.
I will keep their seeds separated from the others.
The last pic is a close up of the seeds starting.
At any rate I will deseed each plant separately and store in separate packages until i try their parents.
Next I move on to the Swazi, Malawi Gold and Mozambique Mulanje crosses it should be fun as they were all good.

They both have different highs one is straight out trippy laughing grass, the other is bouncing off the wall crazy ha ha.
At least cobbed and then chewed as I use them.
They are the two phenos that these seeds produce.
You can keep them below 1 meter tall under lights by limiting grow time to less than 10 hrs a day.
Outside they grow into tree's with a full summer.

I remember once asking a friend if he was growing - he said I should look next to where I was standing - I am 5' 10" and the plant was at least half as tall again, so like 10 feet tall...

It was so tall, I had discounted it as a ganja plant when I scanned his garden...

These seeds are going to be dynamite after I used some great pollen Mad Mac sent me from his pure Mulanje and his purple calyx Malawi Gold the plants have been getting stronger every grow.
The highs are amazing cobbed and chewed. I can work all day focused and energetic but still high as kite its what I look for in a high.
Those Zamal x Thaitanic would be worth a look the Zamal was an octopus plant.

Well its like a perfume honey pine with a hint of skunk from the original cross but its waay in the background.
On curing its all pine and sweet honey.
I felt so drained yesterday but I had some retic to do for my Mother in law so I chewed a minuet amount of the Mulanje les than 1/10th of a gram I worked all day with my head in the clouds nothing stopped me happy to do more, kind of high pure bliss I cant live without it.
I tried 3 days straight just to cut my dependence on it last week. It sucked big time headaches no energy grumpy old man syndrome.
I chew some Mulanje cob and I'm 16 again "where's the bad bitches at?" ha ha. Its medicine for the rest of my life brother.
Instead of shriveling up and fading away I'm re born and lusting for life sweet medicine my friend.

Always enjoy your threads/posts...I tried to make cobs, but I did something wrong. It got moldy looking. I kept it around for a while but decided that I'm not putting that in my mouth. I'll try again sometime.

Yes there is a knack to it but its not hard once you know how.
The easiest way is just in a vac bag no maize husk just an ounce or two in a bag slightly dry not to moist.
Then keep it vacuum sealed in a warm place 30c or more and let the magic happen in its own time.
You can keep an eye on the changes through the vacuum bag without opening it.

I’m now 50 , no other substance gives me that bright out look on life and a spring in my step.
I certainly can go without whenever needed or wanted. But honestly , it just makes everything so much better .
Like as he say’s in Pineapple Express ‘ it makes food better,sex better. Especially pure sativa.OMG everybody should have a little bit every morning
