Awww, a little mourning seems appropriate. Stop the wagons and pause to reflect on their lives that might have been......

Hiya 'moz!
Yeah - space was getting a bit tight... a bit more room for 'em now. Thx my friend!

Hiya guest2!
Do I know you under another handle? Good to have you here in my garden, help yourself to the shop vac vape and some canna treats - think I still have some double Afgooey banana bread in the fridge... I do have a couple of girls veggin for a flower show while these are sexing - a couple lifesaver and sensi star, but the youngin's are the star of the veg period right now, will show the cuts when they go to flower. Thx for stoppin by!

Hiya -VT-!
Thx my friend - wait until you see the latest! They're gonna be obese offspring! Yeah, I'm a big believer in cutting losses when there's other work to do... :chin: BTW, KH fogged me with his bubble yesterday, so now I know what you experienced... man, I was baked for hours!!!

Hiya KH!
Yeah, raise the canna-flag for a moment of silent vapor... :biglaugh: The remaining plants are treating me well though... Great meeting you yesterday, thanx for the bubble - gave me an all day smile!

Felt pretty ok tonight, so I pulled the plants for a day 31 veg update...

First off - remember the am99 and c99 moms I had stripped for cuts? here they are a couple weeks later still in the same 6" pots.... Nearly time to take another load of cuts and then let them go dormant again...

Powerskunks 2, 4, 5

Plants 1 and 3 were the ones culled. PS 4 started showing the same nute problem, but a transplant to fresh soil plus a mild feeding with PBPG seemed to do the trick.

Golden Pineapple 1 and 2 ( runt )

Runty isn't quite a runt anymore!

Sourbubble BX1 1-4

#1 is the shorty pheno.

G99 1-6

So far these are still pretty uniform.

At least another 2-4 weeks before they're mature. I figure on one more transplant before they declare themselves.

Have a great :smoke: 'n night!

Lookin great MGJ!! Hehe...I see KH is spreading the bubble gospel :D Did he tell you about the "missing trichs?" I was hoping he started a thread on the subject (hint hint )

I like the logic behind starting more than needed anticipating males etc....in my case I need to plan ahead also...mostly for the anticipated burials :biglaugh:

The Golden Pineapple has some fat leaves...but the G99 is still my fav so far...they all look good though  ...thanks for the update brotha!!

-VT- - I guess I really should have tried to photo the trichs, it would have been more conclusive. However, you saw it with your own eyes. That microscope don't lie.

The trichs (balls) were ALL missing from the surface, yet to the naked eye, it looked frosty. What's left is the chrystolith (sp?) hairs and the stalks that used to hold trichs. It gives the bud the appearance of being frosty, when it's just stems and the tiny white hairs. Plenty of trichs inside the bud, though. It's just that the surface of the bud looked kiefed - but it wasn't.

I did have one question that I failed to ask, that is; did you do the final trim wet or dry? I'd like to correlate that with what I saw under the microscope.

It's my conclusion that when the bud is dried, the trichs become brittle and break off very easily. This is why a light kiefing gives the best kief, and why growers put a screen under the trim area to catch the kief.

Yeah, I know, this may not be a great revelation to some, but seeing the evidence under a microscope for over a year has been a real eye-opener. Man, that thing has opened more vistas for me...

-VT-, feel free to add your comments about the observation, that is, if MGJ will forgive us doing a slight detour on HIS thread. :bat: Ooops.

MGJ, I'm glad you liked the hash. I hope to have some better stuff from the next run of diesel. I suspect it will turn out OK, the first batch did, though low yield. Fresh does that, though. Mmmmm, good. :yummy:

Now, back to MGJ's thread...

Geeze the G99 looks like a clone grow. I want to see them mid bloom. :D

Hopefully the powerskunks will continue to respond to the food you just gave um, they look like they are head and shoulders above the rest growth wise.

All in all the plants are looking killer. :D I must agree with VT G99 is my favorite so far too.

PS nice mommas there MGJ. :D

Hiya -VT-!
Thanks very much my friend. I'm very pleased so far, they all seem pretty happy, and so far the G99s are calling to me - smoke us, smoke us - :pointlaug The others have my interest too though - never had so many indica appearing plants in the cab - phat leaves everywhere!:canabis:

Number of plants - that was my thinking exactly.:yoinks: Now to see which are the wild girls... Keep a couple males only pollen play.

Missing trichs - now I know!!!

Hiya KH!
You guys can discuss away in my thread, very informal party here. Besides gives me a chance to learn something new! Hadn't thought about that - noticed it in all club bud I've bought. Makes sense to me! Microscopes don't lie!!!

Hiya Hughie!
Thx my friend! yes, those G99s look almost as consistent as cuttings from the same mother! Will be interesting to see if they develop major diferences before they sex, but so far so good, looks like a true F1 cross...

The powerskunks and a couple of the sourbubble were needing nutes, so hopefully the new soil and light feedings next week will keep them happy. The only problem for me having young plants under a lot of lumens - they get really hungry fast!

Glad you like the mommas... one of the offspring is calling your name:wink:

MGJ - The pics are great, but that G99 really caught my eye. What wonderful fat leaves - looking good. That's going to be some good indica I bet, it's gotta be a great cross. It's one I've thought about for a while now, but not looked for in the seed catalogs. Real bedtime medicine for getting some sleep in spite of the pain. I wish you the best of luck in this grow.

Yeah, I suspect that some of the bud coming from clubs has not been kiefed, but rather just handled too much, both by the trimmer, and by the folks at the club bagging the stuff. And then there's the moving around in the container. Poor little bud, it just can't win. :pointlaug

-VT- - "Bubble Gospel". ROFL, that is a good one. Thanks.

BH - you bring up a point I've been wondering about. What is the proper amount, and of what, do you feed the babies?

I've been thinking that a very small dose of SuperThrive in their water might do for the first week or more. Then slowly move them to the serious nutes over a period of several weeks.

Since I'm raising them for mothers, is there any difference in the nutrition requirements?

Man, I got a lot of questions. Maybe I should start a "mothers for dummies" thread somewhere.

Hughie - I'm hesitant for the same reasons. By light feeding I mean maybe 150 ppm grow fert added to light seaweed ( Algamic ). PPMs in my water vary from 50-120, and especially under higher lumens seems like the plant transpires the water which then concentrates the nutes + the solutes in the water and after a while EC goes up. In fact today I start my test watering of all the plants, if EC of drainage on any of them is over 1.5 they get flushed until EC is under 1.5.

KH - good questions. I only give light feeding ( max 250 ppm ferts ) after transplant if the plant's been starvin, I water a bit on the old rootball to give a bit while waiting for rootlets to penetrate the new soil. Otherwise I give none for at least 2-3 weeks, and when I fert the first time I check drainage for pH and EC to make sure I'm not fooling myself :pointlaug .

I've been a big fan of superthrive, but it acts a bit differently on fast growing plants like 420 compared to my bonsai. I only give 1-2 drops / gal when I water in a newly transplanted plant and that's it. Problem and advantage of Superthrive is its very very slow breakdown. It's easy to have a bit too much for the plant and that can make it do weird growth or look like overnuted. I've found using something like FFLW infuences rooting more than multiple doses of Superthrive. It's mostly a rooting hormone, no nutes in it at all.

I mix nutes to EC / ppm values, and usually start at 250-300 ppm, increasing 100-200 ppm if it's not enough. Bonsai moms - with their very small surface area of leaf, don't need much - minimum feeding is 150-200 ppm during dormancy only when they start yellowing, or a single dose of 500 ppm prior to goosing up the lumens to get cuttings growing out.

Hmmm - getting hungry, think I'll go out for Meskin tonight:D

Hiya BF!
Thanks for stopping by! Here, grab a hit a this:bongsmi:

Good to hear ( and congratulations ) your hardware is coming in, no doubt you will have some nice buddage flowering soon. I'm looking for the sativa pheno of ls, the indica pheno is good smoke too, but is kinda slow growing and doesn't stretch, so you might want to give her a good veg.

That is funny about your neighbor :biglaugh:, glad he's cool. To me discretion and stealth is my shield, so as long as you're careful not to vent into his living room you should be ok:laughing:

Stay well and safe!

yea these guys are almost on month 2 of veg my other ls seems to be a lil bit of both leaning more on the sativa side. the sativa version of ls is a very nice yielder but to me lacks on the potency just not really comparing to the indica i had. but the taste on the sativa is second to none so far for me very very sweet grape also for me leaves me a lil to edgy, i mean dont get me wrong i love sativas, so far but for me the indica just hits the spot. although i have to admit the day after everything had dried up on the sativa i smeared a tad bit o oil from the sativa on a sativa packed bowl and let me tell you i was totally gone def not something you smoke before bed!!

You gotta figure there are MANY things that influence how much food you should be giving a seedling, if any. With the FFOF you can pretty well know that the seedling will be ok for a few weeks with only water. But with coco, or other hydro mediums/methods with no nutes in the medium what so ever you have to give them some food at around the 5 day mark (from the time they are under light). My current seed run I gave them 100PPMs of flora nova grow and SLOWLY worked it up from there. Im running RO water so 100PPMs of FNG is 100PPMs total. With tap water most people are starting higher than 100PPM. Theres alot of factors here that come into play. :joint:

And then you gotta figure in the seed factor (ie even within the same strain some plants may have different needs/limits). Nothing like a seed grow with multiple strains to keep you on your toes. MGJ can probably relate. :D

MGJ if I am getting OT here say the word my friend. Hopefully you are all as toasted as I right now. :smoweed: :D

Does seem unusual to see so many indica leaves in your garden MGJ. Personally I prefer the indica stone, but love good mixes too. Can't say too many pure sativas turn my crank :smoke: I'm a pretty hardcore stoner though :sasmokin:

I see you slightly favour those G99, I too always have 1 plant or strain I secretly admire a touch more, but never let the plants know :canabis:

Man...how do get all that time to bake that many cannatreats for these masses?
You know us ghetto grow guys are still serving roaches wrapped in bologna :yummy:
