Backing off on feeding the HB plants. Very little fade going on and I like a nice purple looking plant. The root balls on all the plants are so dense, water is just pooling up on top of the pots. May need to plop them in my dog’s pool going forward. Trich check today showed very few amber on both my plants and my neighbors plants. The buds on all plants are bulking up. Hoping to see some plump calyxes shortly.

I am finding bud rot daily now on some of the Heri-Berry plants. Clipping off the affected branch and trimming away the rot plus about a half inch radius around the rot. I may be harvesting early if this continues. 😡

The CDSRxNDU is still chugging along without any issues. My neighbors plants are doing the same. The HB getting some bud rot and the CDSRxNDU shrugging off any and all PM, BR and insects. The difference in resistance I think is the open sativa structure of the CDSRxNDU vs the dense indica strictly of the HB. The aroma is kinda licorice with notes of old school hash.

Chopped and trimmed one Heri-Berry. I didn’t find any bud rot during trimming so I am now thinking I will let the rest of them go for a while longer. The trichomes were mostly cloudy, a few clear and a smattering of amber(or maybe they are purple and I am mistaking those for amber. I didn’t like the size or density of the buds on the chopped plant which is why I am opting to go longer. The top buds on each branch were nice and dense but the further down I went, the looser they got. They were good to about 6” down the branch.

Plus they need to get some more color to make me a happy camper…

So looking at my remaining plants, the heavy defoliation I did on one plant did one thing for sure. It made all of the buds larfy. I know a lot of people defoliate with good results and I may have done it too late but that whole plant is going in the hash/cannabutter pile. I do defoliate but only leaves blocking light from bud sites and usually only a few at a time. My thought is the massive defoliation stressed the plant but it also decreased the area available for photosynthesis.

Did a little maintenance on Manute Bol this morning since the rain is weighing down some of the colas. Starting to get some amber here and there. The buds are starting to get denser. ‘2 moar weeks’…

It was 31 degrees this morning. Frost on the cars but looks like Manute shrugged off the cold. The HB plants are sleeping in my garage so they didn’t get the sub-freezing temps.

I made some dry ice keif this morning with the popcorn buds and trimmings. I will keep the leftovers for making butter after I chop Manute Bol. I will make some keif with that plant too. The terps on her are really beautiful.

I tried a 96 mesh screen but didn’t get much so I put that stuff in a container and moved up to the 120 mesh screen. Much better yield. Did 3 runs that are separate. The 3rd just went into my joint rolling container. I will be compressing it all when my pollen press mold comes. My plan is to use my workbench vise and my heat gun to try to make it more like hash.

Looks like I got about 13 oz’s from the HB plants(the sixth one which I defoliated late in flower didn’t have any good sized buds do it all went into the ‘hash pile’. I lost probably a quarter pound to bud rot☹️.

This cross is going to be my go-to outdoor grow strain. Bug, PM and Bud Rot resistant. Nice buzz. Gorgeous aroma. Has survived sub-freezing temps. I am contemplating chopping one of the plants today(yes there are 2 plants in the same hole). I am getting to the point where I would be really furious if my neighbors lawn service snatched these from me.

This one's the Nanda Devi cross? Looks and sounds amazing. The 6 seeds I planted 2 months ago have yet to pop, so are probably not going to do anything now. This diary is inspiring me to try again!

Yes. A young friend of mine did the design, was the general contractor for, procured the plant stock and ran a legal grow start up about 5 years ago. His friend travelled to Uttarakhand to procure the seeds and some of the resulting crosses made it into their product line. This one wasn’t in that line(maybe due to the buds being less dense than what is ‘all the rage’ at dispensaries) but he gave me 5 seeds. When I got one make and two females, I figured making some seeds to preserve the line was a good plan. I over did it😂 and wound up with hundreds of seeds throughout the tent instead of the one branch/bud I tried to pollinate.

Chopped one of the plants. Certainly not the ripeness I was hoping for yet but the remaining plant is the bigger of the two and the next 10 days looks like weather will be good. In the 70’s the next 2 days. It is nearly 12 weeks in flower at this point. I have 2 jars already from branches I chopped last week. The buds on the branches are trimmed last night are markedly denser so I’m hoping the last plant will be even more developed. Love the aroma. I am looking forward to making some keif/hash out of this(probably mixing the earlier harvested bud in with some of this batch to balance it out a bit). Yesterdays haul…
