For this cross we used five males of the Deep Chunk against the Congo#3 clone in an outdour open pollination. On its own, the Congo#3, a pure sativa, is fantastic fast for a sativa, stinky musky spicy complex sativa high and we expect the Deep Chunk to only improve upon the taste at the same time as adding the classic deep chunk density to the buds. Unlike the Deep Wreck which is expected to have a few phenotypes, we expect the DEEP CONGO to have more consistency being a true F1. Expect these to come in around 8-9 weeks indoors and around sept 30th outside. Best to all who have tried our work in the past. Cheers. Richard Williams Jr.
richardwilliams said:The congo mother Im using actually finishes fine outdours at 49 latitude producing beautifull long sativa colas. Indoors you will get smaller buds that suprisingly do come in fast. As to the DC dominance, DC here adds density slightly faster finish time and purpling. You will still get sativa phenos here so DC is not always incredibly dominant as the previous poster points out the Congo holds its own in the cross and most importantly the terpene smells of the original congo are maintained in the cross. cheers to all, Richard.
richardwilliams said:The congo came to me as a clone only
its origins I will get to in another post,
the congo on its own is a very special and
treasured smoke, currently my top top favourite
smoke, so earthy, sagey, skunky, spicey
with that high that has no celing and you can
just smoke it every day and not get bored with it
at all times a crowd pleaser, walk into a party, or
better yet a musical performance and smoke up the
band, you will be thanked by the musicians for the
inspiring weed. Being an artist myself, it really inspires
creative thought, witty conversation, etc, etc.
I grew out several large specimens of the congo cut
interspersed with my outdour deep chunk patch last year
so there's five males in this cross, in the cross you get the congo
smell in every plant, theres two main phenos, a slightly more sativa
leaning one, shown here, and the more indica, which im still drying,
this is the one i want to go down in the books for as it is so good, the
deep chunk densified the buds and you can see the rippled leaf effect in the
buds, a dc trait, but the congo terpenes shone thru and the deep chunk
deepened the whole smell and taste.
cheers.
i will post some pics of the parents.

The photos make the buds look greener than they do in person. When I look at them they look mostly purple and orange. The trich coverage which is heavy, extends down the length of the bud leaves. The trim should yield well in bags since it is so frosty. When these buds are ground up I smell a sagey mixture of moss and a lemon cleaner with funk. Its not fruity and lemon cleaner funk is just the best description I can find right now.
The smell carries over very well to the taste. the joint leaves a thick earthy and sagey taste on your tongue, that will be there for a while. The first hits off a joint will cause an immediate warm pounding sensation in the back of your head. The high is great, I can focus and perform tasks but be blasted at the same time. I would say it is a good mix of cerebral high and body relaxation that lasts for a while. Also, the smell this leaves in a room is not like any of my other strains.Very unique to me.
I think that covers most of it. This is a potent, easy growing strain that is a new keeper here.It has it all taste, potency and yield. I can't wait to make F2's,I'm sure there are some awesome pheno's waiting to be discovered.
