Prof--Ya spreading my wings around IC a little bit. Your always welcome here.
DrD--Tell me about it. I really had no other choice as I work with some limited space in veg. Especially with a mother in there and two others vegging I had to stunt em a little bit. Their health payed the price but I wasn't worried about it none too much as they were still manageable. But their time is almost up in veg and I needed em sexed and their health rejuvinated before throwin em in flower.
Dave--Where's that root porn. There's microrezah or however you spell it. Other than that I add some h202 when I water on transplant.
------------------------------------

Well folks it's been about a week now and they are two waterings in and are looking much much better. A couple have a little excessive nitrogen going on but it's cool because they are about to flower in another week, week n a half and all that excess N will push em through the stretch quite nicely. And right on que, a week later they are starting to sex. So far there are 5 that have started to seriously show sex 4 of which are girls. The fifth is not quite along enough to tell yet.

Some plant shots.

Oh and now I have a new problem. They are growing too fast. Right into one of the fans. ;)

See they are healing quite well. Even the lower stuff has showed vast improvement.

And of course something for me to macro now! ;)

And pistils like those get a red flag. I hope they don't all turn out female. I'd really like to have a couple of options of a nice male. After all that's part of the reason I tossed the whole pack. See ya soon. ~SB~

Man, that is one of my favorite things, is to grow out a few seeds and finally see the white hairs. I love it

Plants are looking great, whats up with teh mutant fan, you think that is due to them growing too fast? I have fans do funky things like that now and then, never really thought of it being due to their speed of growth

Thanks for stopping in lava.

No Dr D what I meant by fan wasn't fan leaf. I mean I have two 6"clip fans blowing across the canopy and one blowing across the lights in the veg box and they grew so much over night that that particular fan leaf flopped into the fan and got chopped off by the fan. And I agree when they start shootin pistils is just about my favorite time of seed growing, finding out who's who.

LOL ok man

my bad, I just woke up, LOL, now that has happened to me many times, I was actually dumb one time and took the protective cage of the front of the fan, if it was not the plants it was my head going into the blades, I tell ya that is a scary thing when you examining your plants and your ear gets hit by the fan

It's funny you say that. I took the cages off the front of them ages ago and a time or two i've been nicked but they are little plastic blades that don't spin very fast. For me though it's my chin. Like 5 times now and a few hand whacks. Not often though do the plants get whacked. Well gotta jam, have a good one.

I'v always removed the protection cage from my fans, it gives them a great boost and they move more air without the cage.

Yeah it's a risk, but just try to remeber not to stick your fingers in the fan :)

Sleepy--They really do don't they.
Lava--It really does give em a boost too. Thanks for stoppin in.
Zeus--Tell me about it, 5 weeks in a dixie cup. Waaay too long, it was unavoidable though. Here's to it not happening again like this anytime soon. Yah these girls flowering out should be a fun ride for sure.
Core--That should make for quite the father. I will always choose the male that makes some fat thc glands and shoots a few female hairs. Too many though and I'd have to call it a hermie female and upchuck the boogie on shims ass. ;) So when you gonna make me a tester for your beans man? I find myself getting jealous of some of the gear you be putting out. That ecsd x strawberry d x pc sounds... BAD ASS. Anyway thanks for stopping in everyone. Late.

Mmmmm bogglegum. Tasty stuff you brewing you "tight ass". I get confused sometimes with everything going on around here. ;)

So I figured to better articulate the "new issue" I'm having I thought I would throw up the veg box and what's going on. Their health turnaround has been exceptional. The nitrogen toxicity has receded now that it has had a chance to work itself throughout the plant. As of now they are growing about an inch a day. The four confirmed girls will be topped and thrown into flower tomorrow and the tops will be put straight into dixie cups with some soil to clear a little space in the veggie box. Two reasons for this. 1. I just plain don't have room to set up the cloner. 2. If they aren't strong enough to root themselves with minimal effort I can honestly say that I don't want to keep em around. With all the beans I have to sift through in the next couple of years I'm looking only for the best of the best and frankly I won't be accepting anything less than that. So if they aren't sporting better than average stats in every category and phase of growing then it won't be sticking around. I have been pleased so far so the outlook is good for something special to show itself once they flower.

So as you can see there is absolutely no room in there now. Hard to believe how shitty they looked just a week ago. I guess it pays to pay attention.

See Core growing right into the fans. The bulbs are only about an inch from the canopy. So I have to have that good airflow at canopy level. Its just not usually a problem but in this particular case it is because not only are all of these stuffed in there but the MS mother plant is stuffed in there as well.

Couple of canopy shots. See I kinda know what I'm doing....Sometimes! ;)

Good morning Mr. Bill!
Finally I found your new thread :) Plants are looking really good, nice little jungle.
You are right, why should you spent precious time with unstable genetics. Only the strong survive ;)
Can't wait to see DeepCongo in flower. Another cool thing here on IC, I've never heard of the most strains that are growing here.
Always exciting and instructive. I mean it's interesting, other continents, other strains. Anyways, I got off topic :)
Will hang out in here, if you don't mind. Keep it green! :rasta:

bonger--Well you won't have to wait very long to see them flower. It is crazy to think of the many many strains, people and places. I love it.
T--Spot on my man. Every phase must be exemplary. You think it's bad now, just wait until I pick my final winners in oh let's say about 3 years. That's when the real fun begins. Making the strains my own by breeding the traits into what I think is top notch insanity. ;)
Lava--Indeed a huge contrast from just what 8 days ago.
------------------------------------------------

Well big news and lots happening now. We will start first with the male/female ratio. As of right now. There are 5 confirmed females and 3 confirmed males and 1 undeclared. Now that the majority of the sexing is complete, you know what time it is. Cloning time. Also the first two DeepCongos have gone into flower. All females were topped and cloned straight to dirt. The males were topped and cut back. They will be having their roots trimmed and thrown into much smaller containers in a few days. There are two very nice specimens in the male department. But we will talk about what makes them nice up to this point later. One will probably be trashed. On with the show.

First the materials.

Next some plants

And poof they be cloned. Let's hope they make it.

A leaf from the most sativa looking plant of the bunch.

Now check these roots out. After a week they are getting pretty rootbound already. Crazy... They are getting transplanted into a 3 and a 3 1/2 gallon container. I know a 3 1/2 gallon container?

Transplanted and ready to flower... Day 1... Ready... FIGHT!

Two more will go in on Saturday. And the last very sativa plant will be staying behind an extra week and will be transplanted into a three gallon container on Sat. to veg in for a week before being transplanted into a 5 or 7 gallon container. Most likely a 5 though. As the sativa side of this combo is what I'm really hunting for on the girl side. See ya soon. ~SB~
