MotherLode Gardens 2016

It may have been okay with no thermostat that time but I've definitely killed clones without one. It's just not worth risking and getting the one ensures the ideal and consistent temperature of 78F can be maintained

from now on i want my clones to be organic if possible. I've heard of people rooting cuts with Aloe Vera? the aerocloner works great too with just water, but cleaning it regularly is a chore, and the rootballs are fragile.

Aloe works great to induce rooting in cuttings. I use 200x aloe powder and water as a 24hr soak before putting them into an aerocloner, with plain water. It's strain dependant for sure, but makes roots fast.

I think though that you want to clone in soil, in pots. People do this, I've done it. The trick is creating, maintaining and keeping the cuts in a moist environment while they root, without damping off.

Where I live, being able to use the aero cloner in a room sitting at or below 16% RH without a dome or humidifiers is real handy. The aloe is an organic catalyst for inducing rooting and just as effective as anything you get in a bottle. Salicylic acid I believe is the reason aloe helps induce rooting. I'm not a science guy, can ya tell, lol.

Practice taking cuts and rooting them in moist soil in a comfortable (temp) environment with humidity 60+ %

Soak in aloe/water solution for 24 hours before planting cuts into soil.

See how you like it, you might, some do. I don't, IMO you can't beat an aloe soak then aerocloner for easy organic cloning.

The cheapest source for aloe powder I've found:

You can use a sprig of fresh aloe, scrape off the clear gel and blend with clean water. Soak cutting in it for a day, then with another fresh aloe leaf insert the cuttings into the side of the leaf (a fatter section) and coat with the gel then put into rooting substrate.

Sometimes I'll use a toothpick to start the holes in the side of the leaf for the cuttings.

They should root after about a week to 10 days

Would you use pure aloe juice from a fresh plant mixed with a bit of water? Any ideas?

fresh is great. i always have at least one aloe plant around. :)

u can find a 200x extract online if u want to get your exact dosage dialed in and want a concentrated amount in storage instead of a live plant.:tiphat:

So I met the girl of my dreams at burning man, Ethiopian-Israeli but she lives in Hawaii for the moment and she's here at the farm with me now. I can't believe how blessed I've been this season. Harvest is right around the corner and everything seems to be falling into place in a really weird way. No matter what happens I am enjoying the ride. Much love!! More pictures soon, everything's still all green but soon the fall colors will really start to kick into high gear, and the sunsets mmmmmm..

Congrats on your new friend.

You once told me Dream Beaver was a hit your way. Thanks for the advice, I took it and I'm very happy.

Next time you take a lady up there, snag her shoes and hide them. I wish you luck Wild Man

Hold on to that girl, sounds like a keeper. The question is, does Bud-e like her? Dogs are a great judge of character. Best of luck.

Glad your enjoying the crazy ride we all call life. It has crazy turns, so be ready.
