I saw that photo. I like it. A friend told me about some greenhouse beds he saw that had multiple PVC lines with holes drilled. Thought that might be an economic alternative if you had an even grid of plants. I also had sections drying out and ended up just adding more sprayers.

Once this soil dries out, it takes a lot to wet it again, so I have to hose it down first and then position the sprayers right. Now they're getting clogged for some reason so I walk in endless circles while watering to make sure everything is spraying and throwing at the right distance.

Ahhh I understand. I just cut the mulch occasionally and keep the stakes high. The mulch distributes the water for me. I used buckwheat early on, then cut it all the way after it flowered (it's a P accumulator). You don't have any mulch huh? Without mulch it would be tough. The top of my soil never dries out.

It is working better on pots than mounds. The flat level pots have been working better. 4-6 sprayers for 7' pot. I'm using 3-4 sprayers now. Drip works awesome I just don't like the install time and cleaning repairing and storing it.

Great work Schrews! Have fun at Burning Man! Sorry for jamming your thread with my opinion while you're out. ;)

I meant the dry spots that weren't getting watered. The top of the soil dries out but not that bad and I've been doing more frequent smaller waterings like Shcrews. Most of the mulch that popped up is buckwheat. Didn't know it accumulates a lot of P. Thanks for the tip.

I remember seeing your sprinklers-- you have much higher stakes. Mine are the 50 cent 5" staked sprayers from antelco.

I'll make a post in your thread because I have more sprayer questions and I don't want to hijack this thread.

I'll just say this...I wouldn't want to be the ripper that gets caught by Shcrews' insomniacal ass :) this farmer is prepared and has learned his lesson. I wish I was half as ready as him this year.

Fuckin full moons man.

drivin back from the burn now to LA to drop
off a friend, then up to the farm. what a wonderful vacation, i am physically tired but mentally refreshed , with a new perspective and deeper appreciation for the power of human creativity and the magic of synchronicity. life is beautiful, it just takes an open mind , a loving heart, and the desire to go with the flow of positive vibrations wherever it may lead.

so many people at burning man are sad about resuming their normal life but i'm just so excited to get back to my plants!! my helper has been watching the farm for almost 2 weeks now. everything looks good in the pictures he's sent me. i made sure to idiot-proof the garden before i left.

im expecting to return to find a stinky hillside covered with beautiful frosty ripening buds. harvest is just around the corner. some will be finished in less than a month.

Sounds like a good festival. Glad to hear you had fun man. I burnt my ass off at telluride bluegrass festival this year. Hadn't been to a festival in a grip, need to get back into the scene a little.. It's fun.
