Hey shcrews, I'm thinking about drip next year instead of sprayers, so I can get a living mulch really going.. I'm wondering how you know if all of the holes are dripping? Especially under such a thick cover crop?

you can move the grass and check if you think there's a problem. i monitored my driplines closely and saw no blockages before the cover crop overgrew them and i assume it's still the same way now because the plants are fine. the whole drip system is pressurized so the emitters probably are not goin to get clogged very easily

Did I recall you saying you did some franchise gear this year?

how dem goin
i popped a pack of Area43 but didnt plant any of them in my garden, i started way too many seeds this year. i gave the Area43 starts to my friend who's growing them now so i'll get to see how they turn out. it did seem very vigorous

Amen. In a day and age where our politicians fight to abolish the second amendment. I will fight for my constitutional right to own a firearm. Shit they have some of the toughest gun laws in Europe and look at what's happening over there. Poor bastards can't even defend themselves.
ive always liked guns since i was little. they do have some weird energy though. i definitely dont like seeing them at all in most situations.

thats a really cool idea about painting the stakes. As it is now they look quite utilitarian, i would much prefer a psychedelic rainbow effect in the garden. might do that next year.

im goin to skip the pinwheels, wouldnt want to scare away the birds , they actually help me a lot by eating lots of caterpillars off my plants every fall. Often when i walk down to the garden in the morning in september there are giant flocks of tiny birds who, startled by my arrival, take to the sky with a ferocious beating of tiny wings against the still air..

what kind of birds are the Screws? I have been studying and drawing sparrows to go with my Sailor Jerry sailboats.... Birds are so amazing and such spiritual creatures. For instance, the sparrow, represents safe home coming for sailors.

According the law of the sea, once he had sailed 5,000 miles a sailor had a swallow tattooed on one side of his chest. After another 5,000 miles he would have another swallow tattooed on the other side of his chest.

In prisons, getting a swallow tattoo on the back of each hand was a reminder of freedom, since your hands could fit through the bars of your cell. Swallows tattooed on the hips are also associated with freedom.

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope the gophers are under control!!!!! those pesky little bastards. Best wishes for the best season EVER!!!:huggg:

Awesome thread! I'm glad to be tagging along. Keep up the awesome work. With all your outdoor Bodhi experience, which Bodhi hybird has the most mold and bug resistance? I do like couch lock type highs. I'm hoping to do an organic outdoor grow in Hawaii, lots of humidity here. Thanks for any feedback

My family member likes to sky dive with a squirrel suit into Burning Man when he's not in charge of the tents. Wonder if he is down that way this year? Works for GoPro, and hooks up great deals.

That where you are Screws?

Curious why you would think you can't grow living mulch with sprayers? I grow cover crop, lettuce, fennel whatever with sprayers under my plants.

Mizer, I assumed the thick forest of mulch down there would block the sprayers or at least severely limit the throwing distance. Do you just add more?

I'm really over them though, I feel like drip would take much less effort to get water exactly where I want it without waste. Its hard to dial the sprayers in to perfectly wet everything without watering certain spots unevenly, and especially to perfectly hit the sides of mounds without having 180s placed in the edges (which I tried to do but accidentally bought shrubblers.. Not digging these things). Probably better for beds where you can evenly space them, not pots or mounds.

I'd be interested in seeing exactly how yours are laid out, and if you have any that are spraying pots. Mine are super wonky.

I have drip, but I didn't lay enough lines to fully soak the soil. I have reverted back to hand watering because sections of my pots were drying out. Caterpiller710 showed a picture with his drip, and you can see if you go drip, that is the way to do it. Tons of lines.

I saw that photo. I like it. A friend told me about some greenhouse beds he saw that had multiple PVC lines with holes drilled. Thought that might be an economic alternative if you had an even grid of plants. I also had sections drying out and ended up just adding more sprayers.

Once this soil dries out, it takes a lot to wet it again, so I have to hose it down first and then position the sprayers right. Now they're getting clogged for some reason so I walk in endless circles while watering to make sure everything is spraying and throwing at the right distance.
