The Bermuda grass won't actually hurt anything, but it just keeps spreading unless something stops it. It doesn't get tall, but it's this annoying perennial grass that takes several applications of round up to kill it. It's not as bad as getting rid of ivy or bamboo, but it's close. One of the ways they establish a new Bermuda lawn is to take thumb size divots of Bermuda and space them 14-24 inches apart. Within a couple years you have a new lawn. If it doesn't bother you to look at it, I wouldn't worry about it. But after this year it won't be manageable because it will have overtaken about half the pot. Mostly a water and nutrient drain.

i got some 20 mule team borax, was goin to water it into my old pots but i'm not sure what is the best way to do it.

here is my plan,

i'm supposed to add 11 grams of borax per yard of soil. that is about 44 grams per 800gal pot.

goin to fill a 50gal barrel with water and put in enough borax to water 2 pots (88 grams borax). that means each pot will get 25gals of water with the borax mixed in. that should be enough to fully cover and saturate each pot.

plan sound good? anyone... How essential is mixing/stirring the solution? does the borax disolve easily or should i be agitating the barrel while i water? that would be a pain..

STILL waiting on my soil test results from Logan Labs, but i figure i'll do what i can now, and leadslead said the only thing he could tell for sure from the FGL tests is that i need boron in my soil

Sounds good, agitate with a stick, maybe check half way do it again if necessary, or if theres any left over just do like 10 gals or 5 each that should get it all

I have no experience dissolving sulfates in water, but If I were you, I would try mixing a little in a clear drinking cup, or something you can see through to double check that it dissolves properly....and I like your idea, it sounds like the only way to do it properly. And iif milky said to water it in, your probably good- dudes a beast of knowledge

I think he just means if theres some boraxo left in the bottom after your water is gone just add a little more water to get it all out. Maybe im wrong though...

Yup what Z said

I had to do this a few days ago. I used a 5gal bucket per plant. 55 for 2 should be great. I had to redissolve most of the time.

5.8 % solubility in water @ 20 C. So keep it agitated.

Or one of those hand watering things that I cannot think of the name of...44 grams, fill with water, stir the shit out of and water as evenly as possible in one pot...then the next pot, etc

It is not a sulfate, the borate is an anion with Na as the cation

Edit...if there are solids left in the can, lather, rinse and repeat

a watering can would be much easier than filling a whole barrel for every 2 plants. i have a 2gal watering can, could pour in 44grams of borax and then use that to water one pot, then like you said if there is leftover just put more water. i just dont know if 2gal is enough to cover an 800gal pot. guess i can try and find out

Sprinkle the mound with the can. Then water it in with a hose.

I keep looking for your strain choices for this season did I miss them ?

What page ?

Adding BBHP to this year thanks to your success lost my AOG's to below zero freak storm...
Hope someone salvages the strain...

Are you playing with any of Bodhi's supernatural testers?

I forget what page but i posted all the seeds i have and then also which ones i sprouted, but it doesnt really matter because i sprouted way more strains than i can actually grow, and i haven't yet decided the final lineup anyway. stay tuned, everything should be in the ground by next weekend and then we will know for sure.
