Hey Loc Dog those 6" reducers worked out very well, thats a beautiful set up. When you finally "do it outside" give us a shout out.

I tested rig to 60 pounds positive pressure with no bubbles at all, submerged.

I saw you are huge safety advocate. Would never run rig inside, without professional ventilation, no matter how much I trusted equipment. From network security, I always worry about worst case scenario.

With networks, I could screw up their business (never have), would lose the work, Screwing butane up, with extreme stupidity, could cost many lives.

I mention it here, where there is very little chance of it actually happening, but to slap "blasters" that do it indoors. Regardless blasting is un-safe, and bad for environment.

Pay someone to do it right, or buy/build it right.

Thanks brov! So there is only a tri clamp flange on you lid or do you have a ball valve on the other side?

There is an adapter 1.5" tricalmp to 1/4" NPT, with 1/4" NPT close nipple, to 1/4" npt ball valve to a31484. That is for storage tank.

One thing is that the 1.5 inch tri-clamps connecting to 6" to 1.5 inch reducers, should be heavy duty wrench tightened clamps, since they never need to be undone.

May make major modification if GW concurs, adding butterfly valve above concentric reducer. Will update.

To everyone, Be Well, and BE SAFE!!!!!!!!

Nice job LD! Using a Mk III injection tee, instead of another penetration of the lid, was a good idea.

No need for a valve and a ball valve would be a better choice if one were added. You can simply turn the Lil Terp upside down if you want to soak the material in the butane some more and when you are recovering, you want the column open to recover the butane soaked into the column material.

Appian on Lil' Terp??

Do you know the part number for that "injection tee" GW?

You mentioned that you could hook up an Appian to this for quicker turn around, have never read of you doing this, you jumped right to the next configuration and have kept going. If you added an Appian what would you think the turn around time would be for 12" and 24" column on a Lil' Terp? Without having an Appian on a Lil' Terp we are talking hours, would this be as fast as I think?

First, I want to give credit to those who made this possible without any welding. Jonesb pointed me to the 6" to 1.5" reducer, and the 1.5" to 1/4 inch NPT fittings. "Weed, Killer" mentioned the concentric reducer, and Jdee sent me the link.

Credit in that case goes to the Chinese and to Glacier Tank.

I provided Glacier with prints to get quotes for having the Mk III parts manufactured in China, and they actually did samples for Specialized Formulations, but it didn't work out, cause of total price after markup.

Immediately after that, Glacier started offering the components themselves, bypassing Specialized Formulations.

The Chinese are interesting to deal with as well. I don't care, because I've already given the designs to public domain, but after I had the first Mk IV and Mk V prototypes made in China, pictures of them immediately appeared on their website, advertizing them for sale.

Iff'n any of ya'll have proprietary secrets or patents to protect, I would advise caution.

I found a lot of the parts on Alibaba but you have to buy 5-10 parts at a time. So it's not really possible I didn't find them on AliExpress witch usually is used as a single unit sales by most companies on Alibaba. Just have to wait for Glacier to re up. I even found the company that all of Glacier tanks stuff is made so it's likely there just waiting of a BIG truck of stuff from China.

I was able to buy one parts set for each model, but only as prototypes for a larger order, which I placed after prototype approval.

Which company do you think Glacier is using?

At one point, Glacier was using a photo identical to one which was provided to represent Wenzhou Huajin Valve Co., Ltd, only minus the Chinese watermark.

Glacier uses more than one company.

We like dealing with Kingstone's "Sally" thus far. Some translation difficulties, but she tries hard, and has thus far quickly cut to the core of the matter if I run her in a circle until we communicate. Her American English far surpasses my Mandarin, as is the case for many of us'n brothers and sisters.

Not Glaciers mainstream supplier, as their products are more highly polished, but reasonably priced in quantity and of high quality.
