So, i'm too am looking for some info....

i cannot figure out if the extraction is more important than the vacuum process or if both are equally as important to get as butane free as possible.

I am wavering between higher end extraction system and basic vacuum chamber like a "Vac-It Pro"

or

a basic butane extraction system (no recovery) and a vacuum oven. Since the research budget will not allow for both and there seems to be no middle compromise, so i am asking those with the experience which package would be most beneficial.

If your main concern is an end product free of butane then the vacuum process is more important.

Vac-it Pro type chamber is good for small scale purging. You can use bottom heat regulated by a PID controller to get most of the functionality you would get from a vac oven.

IMO use a closed loop extraction system if it makes sense for you. Ie, you will recoup the cost savings in butane + minimized risk of catastrophe over frequent extractions.

Thanks for the good thoughts, and wish mine was too! Alas, we all deal with the cards we were dealt!

Mine was successful at what he did, but alas, never had time for me, except to point out where I was failing to meet his expectations and standards and how superior he was both physically and intellectually.

Wound tighter than a seven day clock from growing up in the Great Depression and flying waist gunner in a B-17, being blasted apart around him by radar controlled anti aircraft ground batteries, while doing bombing runs over Germany.

Good to have a high energy PTSD model of perfection to aspire to, yes?

Hee, hee, hee, Son one's mother, my ex wife, argues otherwise about the luck part. She argues I am more like a plague, whom he inherited all his less endearing traits from, and moved him to the opposite end of the US to keep us apart growing up, so it clearly is all about perspective.

Mostly glad we will have some quality time together and I just wish I was as nice as everyone thinks Graywolf is and glad that Waywardwolf and I are such good friends despite any of our less than endearing qualities.

My father was born 1918, to broken family, went to second wave of italy, was distant, and had horrible alzheimers. So happy my mother is 87 and no signs of alzheimers, but having problems getting around.

People were so quick to put parents in homes, in the past. That is no way to go, unless medically necessary.

I am deeply indebted to you, and your knowledge!!!

Spend as much time as you can with your children!!!! Wife also, if it works out!!

If Graywolf can put up with me, and consistently give perfect advice, he is a saint!!!!

All that benefit from Graywolfs knowledge, are his intellectual children!!!

To clarify, when I called GrayWolf a saint, it was generalization, and not religiously oriented.

Thanks for the good thoughts and your myopia regarding my paws of clay. Grayfox, my companion of 42 years and wife for 30 doesn't share your saintly view, and allows that I'm an acquired taste.

My greatest aspiration, is that you will not only pass on the parts that work for you, and they too will pass it on, ad infinitum, but that everyone uses their new found knowledge and insight to cut through the morass at the voting polls.

I believe that if an educated populous votes their hearts and enlightened minds, that laws will change and we will stop paying our oppressors salaries through our own taxes.

You can't tell folks how to vote, but you can enlighten them and let Mother Nature take over!

Well, I'm kind of bummed to say I don't think I'll be able to make this happen after all, I cannot source a single supplier in my state for this n-butane, all of the specialty gas suppliers here absolutely refuse to order it given the reputation the marijuana community has given this gas, they didn't care to know who I worked for or what reason I need it for, no questions asked.

Mk III for sale

I'd like to sell an unused Specialized Mk3 kit with an extra lower end at my cost plus shipping. It should be a good deal compared to Specialized. Can you find a way to contact me if interested?

Having a little difficulty getting the gyrolok compression fittings to fit snug in the 1/4" stainless tubing, it just falls out, when tightened all the way. Did I just get an improperly sized tube/fitting or is there something to do to make it hold snug and leak free?

They are used for hydraulic fittings. When tight, the tube should take several thousand pounds of pressure to remove.

How tightly to the ferrules fit on the tube before tightening the nut?
