Morning all

So having just gotten back from a crazy reggae festival weekend yesterday I can now get back to me grow :joint:

Nearly finnished my cab yesterday, putting the doors on today then the lamp and fan and I should be able to start 12/12 this week. What I have up together so far is ferking huge, it turned out a lot larger than expected :yoinks: Might be a good thing though as I won some 4th 'o July specials on SeedBay that I'll be itching to start :D

Will get some pics together once it's all finnished, had some minor set backs with leaves getting too close to the lights and burning :badday: :pointlaug , all sorted now though :bat:

later all

LMAO

ok GMT here we go :joint:

Finnished the cab yesterday and put the light in. The vibration of the light resonates of the cab so I might see about dampening that somehow, otherwise I'm happy with it. The fan is not in yet as I need to get a fitting for it first, so at the moment I just have the doors open a little to let some of the heat out, had it running since this morning and it seems ok.

This is a shot of the hole thing with doors open (yea I know u can see that just wanted to comment :p). Like I said it turned out bigger than expected but hey that can only be a good thing :D

These 3 are various shots of the plants, I have to do loads as the cam we have is as bad as they come so it's a bit of a lucky dip with pics
The 2 on the left are Nirvana's Indoor Mix, middle 2 Very Berry Surprise and them on the right are the Female Seeds Jack Herer.

This is where I topped the VBS, coming along real nice. The VBS are the most vigorous out the whole lot so far.

This is the same VBS, I think there's female pre flowers, not sure if it's visible on the pic.

This is one of the Indoor Mixes, I think he'll be a he. I'm not sure as I've not grown before but what I read about males beeing very uniform in growth would be true for this one. Still so far he's the only one that I'd think to be male and 5/6 is quite good.

Now I have a question, check the spots out in this pic. 2-3 of the plants have these. Now I think it's because they didn't get fed enough as I wasn't here for 4 days due to beeing at a festival. I'm not worried about it as I gave them a propper feed today with Dutch Formula Grow, Bloom and some Rhizotonic to prepare them for the change to 12/12.

What do you think??

Finaly I just have some randoms. The first one is a nice shot of the VBS canopy, you can see one of the leaves she burnt on a CFL like I said.
Then we have a shot of the view from above, you can see clearly on that one that the VBS (middle 2) are going crazy :D
Last one is of the topped Jack Herer.

Hope you like, feedback as always welcome

PS: No the cab is not staying like that, Mylar is coming on saturday ;)

Nice work mate. Especially like the topping.
Is the light that far away due to heat?
Why is the light vibrating?
As a rule of thumb, I would say only wory about wide spread problems or on new growth. Lowest leaves are constantly doing wierd things, like losing colour, shrivelling, etc. I haven't seen leaf motling like that before though.
With so much hed room would you not be tempted to let them veg a while yet? Or just keen to get first crop underway, can't say I blame you.

Hello there fellow VBS grower :biglaugh:

Glad you like the cab. Not doing anything for odour yet, most people have said that it aint a worry till 3 weeks or so into flower so I'll go with that. I have all of €2,56 left in my account today so I couldn't even if I wanted to :biglaugh: I've got my Vaportek merchant on hand though who can deliver in 24 hours should the smell over night become unbareable :sasmokin:

I've misted them with lights on yes, but that was under 2 20w ( think) CFLs, I wouldn't think they'd make such a difference, but yes that was the only thing I could think of so far.

Wouldn't think ph, I've not phd the water but I live in an area where the water is as good as they come :joint:

Thanks for your time

Ah GMT there you are

Yes the light is so far away because I don't have the fan fitted yet, thought it would be best that way. Plus it's theire first day under 400w, they've had about 50w so far :biglaugh:

Not sure why it's vibrating. It's remote ballast, the ballast beeing outside to the left of the cab. It's not really vibrating it's just emitting a "hum" so to speak, and that's amplified by the cab. It's no big deal you can't really hear it outside of the cellar, I'd like it less though anyway :D

I was thinking about veging a bit longer, but as it's the first time I'd rather see how tall they get before I have 6' monsters coming out of my cab :biglaugh: The cab itself is 1,85m thats about 6'.

I might still do it though :D

Oh yea I forgot. Had a trial run of the fan yesterday. That's god damn noisy :badday:

Will have to find a way of quietening that down.

It's great to have it blow air just in your face though, a god send as we have 34° out there at the moment :D

Are you the only ones with access to your part of the cellar? If so you could leave the doors open and place a free standing fan outside the cab. An inline fan attached to your cab will resonate even louder than a bulb.

Yea our cellar is locked, but in Germany we have these cellar doors which are basically just slats of wood, so you can see in. I've sealed that with old carpet today which also dampens some noise, but I can' get it closed of entirely. I have the doors just leaning at the moment so some light comes out, you can see it when you come up to our cellar. We have the one right at the end so it's not thaaaat bad.
I will put some shelves next to the door though so that you can't see anything anymore through the bit of the door I can't get closed off ;)

Alex - lookin great in there!

A slip of rubber +/- cork under the light and fan will do a lot to quiet the vibrations, or bungee cord mountings will work well too. Your cab is tall enough that you could easily veg to .3-.6 meters.

They look very happy. As gmt notes lower leaves will do funny things, I know mine sure did :yoinks:

Cya!

Hey there Mr. GJ

Glad you like it otherwiese there'd been trouble :bat:

:biglaugh:

Yea I was looking at the rubber thing. I thought I might otherwise attach the fan outside of the cab to the cellar wall. That'll cut any vibration out dead + I'll have more room in the cab. The fan is deffinately powerfull enough to handle sucking the air out, still amazed at the power of the thing :yoinks:

I built the cab out of 8 pieces of floor board stuff they use for leveling uneven floors before putting laminate down or something like that. That means all pieces have the same dimensions, therefore I have an overhang on the right hand side which isn't on the picture. I thought about encasing that and using it for putting the fan in and having it work like a silencer. Will have to look into that :chin:

Again, thanks all for your help and interest

Update:

Not much has happened apart from them nearly doubling in size..

Canopy today:

compared to 5 days ago:

From the front:

Now this is the view with one door closed. Like I said I have an overhang of wood as I couldn't be bothered to cut it off. Plan at the moment is to put the fan in the top right corner of the cab and just have 20-30cm of exhaust pipe going into this space to the right. That will be borded up just leaving the bottom open say like 10-20cm high by it's width, and then funktioning like a silencer. Think it'll work???

Is it an inline fan or an open spinny one? If it's inline, I'd say hang that from the overhang with 2 bungie cord loops, with your flexi tube going into where you said on the cab and the other end of the fan open. Where is your air intake? just the gaps inbetwwen the doors? It may leave the plants on the left a little air starved if so, or have I missed an intake on the bottom left?

That's exactly what I hat in mind :joint:

Air intace on bottom left, air out top right. It's an inline fan, will probably mount it to the cellar wall in the space you see to the left of the cab as it saves on the vibration, the top bit of cab on the right is not supported so it would vibrate quite a lot even with bungees. Will then have the hose go in the cab and just leave the air to come out the bottom of the fan, and close the front of that fan part of the cab off just leaving the botto open for the air to exhaust.

Will get some pics together tomorrow, the girls are way bigger now about 35-40cm :chin: Will switch to 12/12 some time this week.

i havnt read the post yet but from what i can see your indoor mix looks exactly like my very first plant as a seedling, it was a nirvana snow white.

Hey NYCNoob & Arthur, thanks for stopping by

OK time for an update...

The plants look a little droopy in these pics as I guess they were starving. Just fed them with Dutch Formula Micro + Grow and some Rhyzotonic, that should see them through till the transplant, maybee one more go of plain watering on wednesday but that'll be it.

The first 2 are the usual group shots just to see the size against the pics I last took:

This is of a Jack Herer, some of the leaves are like this, a little lighter in colour going in lines from the centre of the leaf to the edge, prob just a nute def which will remedy itself after todays feeding, nothing I'm worried about:

This is of the 2. JH, some of the leaves show the same markings. The JH have the slimmest leafs out of the lot I like that :canabis:

The JH smell nicest too when rubbed (yes I'm allready touching up my gals :D)....

This is one of the tops on one of the Jh's, I really like the way that looks...

and here the same shot but of a VBS...

same shot but of an Indoor Mix, leaves are loads wider...

and another one from the OM:

All in all I think there doing great. Quite a lot going on this week. Getting payd so I'm ordering the Vaportek 4000, putting the fan in, and then switching to 12/12. Might also be able to finaly get that mylar and sort the inside of the cab out

Oh yea nearly forgot, here's a shot of my lady's Free Love from Mr H3ad, unfortunately only one of the 2 germed, hope it turns out fem though or she'll be pissed :badday:

Again, thanks all for your help and encouragement, I wouldn't be this far without you :headbange
