I would call that midwest. Canada and the US are just divisions of a single piece of land. I'm going to be doing a lot of my digging this weekend and the following week. Time is running out for being ready for the beginning of the season.

would you guys suggest supercroping if i already started vegging and my plants will be huge to conceal them?
my only question is should i just cut it and leave it or make an attempt to tie the plant and stake it in the ground?

If you can I would suggest doing some LST low stress training if you can dosen't hurt the plant at all your plant's will become more bushier than taller.

Went and got a few more things today just forgot to get some dolmite lime :pointlaug otherwise I would be mixing up my soil.

Tree branch is what I have used in the past. So I guess it's more TROG Tree of green technic. I lay the dead tree branch right on top of my plant and bend the branches from my plant around the dead tree branch. Of course this method is not fool proof because of wind but it ussually does good for me. Strings and screens to me are bad outdoors something your eye will notice as man put it there a big tree branch you probley will look at but won't think some pot smoking hippie threw a tree on top of there plant.

Thanks for the tip, guyute. I've used a small stick as a stake before with all the branches taken off, besides a few inches of one at the bottom. I would shove it in the ground upside down to catch the main stem of the plant with the short branch. It might even protect against some animals, and it's probably easier to readjust the plant in training.

"Are those Castor Beans on the first page pics?"

There are 2 types of beans there Castor and Cannabis.

obviously you start with a smaller branch and gradually get bigger?
do you keep the branch on there all the time, only half the time....
and do you take it completely off when it starts to flower?

I keep the branches on all the time in the training process you can move the branches as needed. I do however take it off when the wether is going to get nasty with wind whipping the plant around it can get ripped to shreds if your not careful. After the stretch I completly remove the tree branch because plants don't grow out and up much more after that.

Got my Sunshine #2 (Deep Chunk x Brazilian punch (aka sunshine)) in the mail today. It came with a pack of South African Durban Poison x Skunk #1. One of the freebies was smashed but i'm not to concerned.

Can't wait to see how they turn out, every bean is nice and striped.

It only took 6 days to get to you :yoinks: that's awsome. Was it from seed boutique? I am stuck between getting the sunshine #2 of the Powerhouse maybee I should just get some powerhouse since you have the sunshine :chin: we'll have a little more variety in this thread.

7 Days i think, Friday to Friday. But thats still pretty fast. Yes, got them from SB, i think they're the only distributer of HTC now.

I'd like to try powerhouse too, i've seen some pretty good reviews of it. From my experience with the N#1 and JJ, anything you get from Bub is going to be well selected.

i get my seed in 5 to 7 days usually pretty quick service, unless snail mail wants to be slow then it can take a couple more day maybe 7 to 14 extra but they still arrive :)

I'm going to try my first outdoor grow this spring! I'm going to plant around 10 clones of Northern Lights and Durbon Poison x Skunk #1. They're going to be planted in a few different areas, but mostly on the northern side of east/west drainage ditches (which criss cross most Midwestern farmland). Even if someone sees it growing, chances are they won't waste their time with a couple plants. Wild hemp grows everywhere around the area so it's a waste of time to try and eradicate them.

The bad thing about this grow? Seeds! Because of the wild hemp problem in this area, there's probably a 100% chance my plants will get pollinated.

BTW, will Northern Lights grow decent outside?

Well I finally talked to my safe addy today and sending out my order this week. I'm getting

HTC-Powerhouse
BOG-Sweet cindy 99
Mandala- Speed queen
DP- Passion #1
Nirvana- Holands hope
Nirvana- Blue Mystic
Nirvana- Durban Poison
Nirvana- Big Bud

Probley get a few more next month. Plan is too grow 3 plants of each so hopefully have 1 female of each. Next year I'll have more time and grow the rest out along with whatever I colect over the year.

Went and did a little digging yesterday and today dug 5 different holes every year I seem to forget how much work it actually is to prep the plots. But it's good excercise and well worth it in the end.

guyute can i give you some advice on one of your strains :)

Bigbud may yeild big but the potency sucks majorly and the consistance of the plant isnt there and youll find that out rahter quickly and if you really want to get it try out the Northern Lights #5 x Big Bud its a really awesome plant and the NL will kick up the potency and keep it really consistant and drop the yeild very little if any :D

besides that the rest of the strains are awesome for outdoors from what ive read and heard and that Speed Queen ill keep my eye on as i have the Hashberry and plan on getting the Speed Queen

Looks like a good selection, Guyute.

I dug some holes this weekend and didn't really have enough space on myself to carry the lime with me. Each hole got vermiculite, perlite, water crystals, a cup of plant tone in the bottom and a cup and a half on the natural forest soil from the hole. I tried to break up the few chunks of clay and mix them in.

I've read some about this state's soil and water being alkaline and having some pH buffering ability. Soil chemical characteristics are derived from the parent material it comes from, and i dug a few rocks out of each hole, so i'm guessing its fairly calcitic. And Marijuana.com says, "In soil, the optimum pH for the plant is 5.8 to 6.5" Has anyone gone a year without using lime?

i may still go mix in some dolomite lime to make sure its not too acidic, but i'm curious how it would turn out if i didn't. I'm guessing it would make the soil more acidic and would limit the availability of some of the nutrients to be taken up. Knowing how strong cannabis is, i'm sure it would live though.

Seedlings are looking ready for outdoors. How big are you going to grow them before transpanting outdoors?

Those are just pics from last year. Look in my gallery to see how the blue tub plants turned out.
