Bought some new things to try out, Dutch Master Folitech + Penetrator. These are supposed to be the best foliar feed nutrients. I've been foliar feeding Liquid Karma with SM90 once a week and I really think it helps out alot. Everyone knows how good LK is but SM90 needs more credit. This is my third year and I love it. We will see if the Dutch Master additives become a staple in my weekly foliar feed too.
Not too much to say. Some of the girls were pretty wilted today, not enough rain lately. I watered as best I could but most only got half a gallon unless they were bad then they got a full one. Should rain a few times this week though so thats good.
Next week should be more interesting, I plan on applying the flowering topdressing and I get to try out my new Dutch Master foliar nutrients.
Two AK97s are definitely full on flowering now, this side branch of one with pink pistils makes for a good picture:
hello Tirs
Oh yeah its definitely the time when the real fun starts
Those Ak will for sure!! shoot ya, just bang bang ! heheh!
Good luck!
Keep dem happy!
Greetz!
Update:
I got to try out my new foliar ferts this time so I am curious next time if I see a difference. I go through half a gallon of spray, it consisted of:
100ml Penetrator
100ml Folitech
100ml SM90
2ml Liquid Karma
little bit of molasses
I want to get some feedback from others who foliar feed outdoors. If I followed directions for the SM90 (1:5) I would have been at ~300ml but I'll slowly build up there and watch for burn since the penetrator is supposed to make everything so much more effective.
I also started cooking my flowering mix. Into 90lbs of worm castings I added:
15lbs of flower-tone (3-8-8)
6lbs of Indonesian bat guano
20lbs of Dolomite lime
Tomorrow or Sunday I will work this mix into the top layer along with some vermiculite since the peat moss is having trouble rewetting after drying out.
AK97s really starting to bud up, these are going to get fat
Thanks oak and chaz. Its been raining lightly nonstop since Sunday, which is good except I need to go out and spray for mold and deer. I also chopped 4 males recently so down to 20 girls, the tallest guys were at 7.5' which may not be that impressive compared to some other people here but this is easily going to be my best season so far.
Grow is look fantastic and I am really wanting to start a grow outdoors and let nature do the rest. I will have to find a place and will most definately have to start next year.
1) I have many similar looking "marshes" in my neck of the woods. In such spots here, there is no standing water, but when I stick my finger in the ground it is quite moist - mucky if you will. Is your situation the same?
2) What volume are your grow bags?
3) I have found some tall 28 gallon beige Rubbermaid containers. I am going to cut the bottom off, and drive 6" or so down into the "muck." I have heard that this practically eliminates the possibility of the plants drying out. What do you think?
4) Did the yellowing affect any of the other plants? Is it possible that the sick plant was sitting in a wetter spot than the others?
5) Where did you get your soil formula? I am particularly interested in how you determine the appropriate amount of dolomite lime to add to a given volume of peat moss. BTW, Epsoma products rule!
1. Most of the time yes its just very thick mud, muck is a good word for it. I am going to assume you have never been out there during rain or after heavy rain because there would be no reason haha but that is when you will find standing water. Drainage here is terrible and you will get an inch or two easy after heavy rainstorms.
2. The bags I'm using are 15 gallons each.
3. I think that would work really well if you put drainage holes into the side of the can about an inch above the soil surface for extra drainage when its too wet. Last year I grew in burlap bags and the roots grew right down into the marsh through the bag so it should work.
4. Nope they were all equal in regards to location. Some sort of pest or fungus like was said before is the likely culprit. Ants took up residence in another pot... little bastards. That plant is looking a lot better now though.
5. Well I wanted to use promix but for me the best price I could find was around 35$ a bale, so I made my own mix for a hell of a lot less. Its really hard to over lime if you're using dolomite. And yea espoma= cheap, organic and good not to mention they have this little chart that might help you. http://www.espoma.com/content.aspx?type=p&id=8&intCategoryID=2
