well, it appears theres a problem... my cab is TOO small!!!

i rigged up the hps but there is just too much heat and not enough space... im going to work on finding another cab tommorow.

i cant really tell where, but when i bang on the ballast to try to knock the hum, it has no effect, so i think it might be the bulb. its a fairly loud buzz, so loud in fact, it could create problems. im also deciding whether to keep working with my cab or just go out and buy a big one so i can use my current cab for veg only. will be back later

well, it appears that my ballast might be dying and i am going to try to use my warranty to get it repaired.

i have decided to hold off on changing cabinets, and i am instead going to go out and grab a bunch more 8 dollar ballasts, and try to start 12/12 to get the gender on these, atleast to make sure im not wasting time.

Lookin good man. to answer your question maturity has nothing to do with cloning. take a cut when the shoot looks long enough to cut. Just leave two growth areas on the clone.

OhYeah my HPS bulb hums 2, it die off as the bulb warms up,it still hums sleightly tho. but when that things cold it sounds like a street lamp lol hope this help..if the huming sound is a sign of something bad to come i'd like to know, let me know if you find anything else out..

thats uberhelpful norcal nice guy!!! i had only gotten one persons take on it, and knowing thats common, helps bigtime. plus it does sound EXACTLY like a street lamp at first which prob means that it is the bulb buzzing and not the ballast, which would pose a much more serious problem.

I am definitely going to install my hps now... gonna go grab a bigger cab and install my ducting and ill be set like a mofo.
