well, cannabis grows in a wide range of ph;s although it seems to almost thrive off acidity. i know when i have broken the barrier, of too much acidity.. that all i have to do is tiptoe back up about .4 or .5 ph. however usually ph problems are reflected by new growth as opposed to old. it is likely that she is just shedding some obsolete technology. regardless i will take a precaution by feeding with slightly more basic water.
Cool Bro!! I just had this problem with the same mix and wanted to give you a "heads up" but all looks good keep up the good work!!!!
I just thought, not to be telling you how to grow, looks like you are at your 4th set of leaves, you may want to check the roots. For me, in those 16oz beer cups roots, fill up real fast. Although you can let the plant grow in the cup for two months if you want, I have, but the plant will "take off" with a repotting!!!
lucky u: usually im using dolomite with my mixtures but due to problems accessing my old vault of fertz... i settled on 50% perlite 25%vermiculte 25%peat mixture(most of the peat is only on the top layer). hopefully in a week ill transplant into a more suitable mixture/container.
Glad to hear that growth has resumed. You must of shocked it or somethin, most likely it was a ph problem. Do you ph your water and nutes? I notice that the soil will stay around the same ph as the water you give them. I always ph my water to 6.8 and my soil ph stays around 6.9.
i have always used evian water for all my grows. its the perfect ph and out of all the bottled and distilled water, i believe it plants love it the most.
i think the problem was that in the initial dixie cup the the peat mixture was too concentrated and ****ed with the balance. when i transplanted into the beer cup with a much higher vermiculate/perlite to peat ratio, the problem seemed to go away. i dont blame the slow growth on this though, as indicas like this are notoriously slow veggers, and in flowering are lightning quick, as opposed to sativas which are nearly the opposite. she has maintained perfect nodal spacing and will hardly hit 1 ft by the 8th or 9th node. i love short stocky colas, they are the most efficient yielders imo.
I did not intend to top this plant, but i do plan to cut the top shoot if necessary, to get a good clone. i also think this might cause the plant to grow two or three main shoots, instead of the cola pattern shes in right now. i just hope shell give me a nice bottom shoot to use instead.
okay, guys whiffed her today....DEFINITELY super skunk or some heavy back cross. the smell is distinct and undeniable.. we definitely got a stocky potent little indica on our hands. as for the other one.. only a little more time will tell.
thanks douchestubbler, and me yours! i remember the days when i was experimenting with SWC and DWC... What a pain! i hope someday you will see the ways of soil ;D
speaking of which. i just grabbed some fresh soil and hardware to mount my hps. i will grab some pics when im done. the ladies are looking great and already stinkin up the cab!
