Malawi Style Cob Curing.

I have never ate a bit of COB, so I have no business chiming in here, but in my experience with alcohol and other drugs, taking them on an empty stomach results in a quicker, harder hitting high.

If I wanted to get off quick and intense high from eating a COB, I would do it on an empty stomach and then have an alcoholic beverage as a chaser to get the psychoactive substances into my bloodstream and from there to the brain, as quickly as possible.

With my experience in eating ganja, edibles and hash, i find that if you consume whatever your choice with a bit of sugar they digest faster... the fats in the sugar give the thc something to bind with, and the sugary taste kicks digestion into hyper-drive. I find a couple square of chocolate to be the best item to eat with ganja...

Ssssoooo... does fat or sucrose or fructose add any benefit?
I have tried just about every way to get high from cannabis since my lungs gave up.
Cooking, coco butter, oil, hash ect.
If its strong pot to begin with as in gets you high and active. It doesn't need any help from anything, just chew the fermented (cobbed) bud and you will loose it big time.

The decarbed and extracted type of concentrates loose certain aspects of the high I get from chewing the cobbed bud.
After all you are chewing the whole plant not just an extract.

Notice I say chewing not eating a lot gets lost in the stomach if you just eat it.

Oh well somethings wrong then, I hear this from people now and then I cant explain it.
I get really really high from chewing it so do some others and then some people like yourself say not.
I cant comment on your cobs without seeing and touching and tasting one so i cant help.

I hope you dont feel disappointed. I have to balance the occasional bad batch with the comments I get from happy people otherwise I would feel down.

Using a car as a heat source is a bit hit and miss, but I got a very strong cob using that method.
Although I now use a yogurt maker to sweat them its more constant.

Hopefully they will grow on you as they age mine do.
I figured as much. I do feel a little disappointed, but not so much as to not try it again. Again, I don't feel like this was wasted material. It still does it's thing when burned. I'll likely wait until I pop some Ace seeds before trying this again, though. Takes another variable out, you know? Sweating it in a controllable device like a crock-pot or yogurt maker would give me better control over the process, as well. Additionally, I'll wrap with re-hydrated tamale wraps, instead of fresh leaf. Learning curves...

I work with mostly sativas not hybrids a friend of mine on another forum reports great results on Mango Haze ect.
But said an indica he has is better jar cured than sweated so there may be something in it.

He loves the Haze and a couple of others but saw no difference in the indica dom plant.

Then yet another guy raves about Gorilla glue when sweated and compressed he said it gives it a fantastic high not found in the jar cured so it may be the strain not getting any benefit from this cure.
It will be interesting when you cure the Ace buds as I and others find them very potent with this cure.

Then again some people dont like them but only a couple the majority cant get enough of the cobs.
It wont make the buds stronger but it does change the high for the better IMO.

Dont give up yet once you get some strong sativa buds I am sure you will find it makes a very nice difference to the smoking, taste and especially the high.

Thank you, Tangwena. I still haven't tried cob curing but will this next harvest. What I have done is roll jar-cured buds tightly in parchment paper then semi-sealed tightly in aluminum foil then baked at 250F inside a large pot with the package insulated from all sides to moderate the temperature inside the package. I add citrus peel to impart different flavors. This time it was orange peel but I prefer lime, lemon or grapefruit. In other words, the weed is just cured and decarbed with a little extra natural flavoring.

MY POINT: Until last night, I didn't fully take your advice regarding chew time. I chewed ten minutes the first time and within 2-3 hours I had a high that lasted for several hours. It was a bit trippy but I got through it with my sanity intact... such as that is. The next couple of times I only chewed for a minute, then swallowed. There were effects but far less pronounced. Last night I chewed for 15 minutes and within 2-3 hours the ROLLER-COASTER RIDE began. OMG!! I nearly freaked out but thank goodness I was cognizant enough to retain my wits... other than the frickin' hallucinations... hearing things, etc. Then I started babbling all kinds of nonsensical sounds as if I was speaking in foreign languages... several completely different languages... one was a bunch of different clicking and other tongue and lip made sounds using only the mouth... no vocal chords. And I COULDN'T STOP... LOL!!! My brain was so fried that it seemed as though other people were speaking through me. Yes, I was NEARLY INSANE for HOURS last night!! I was so messed up I thought I'd nearly lost my mind!! I don't know if it made any difference but I kept swirling the masticated weed/saliva sublingually the whole time.

All my aches and pains completely vanished too.

WHAT A TRIP!!! :D

Sublingual dosing is the most efficient method of dosing according to some old research on the subject. It bypasses the stomach and liver making more delta-9-THC into the bloodstream and less of the 11-hydroxy-THC metabolite. That may account for the difference between just swallowing and chewing for extended periods of time.

I know from my experiments with tinctures that sublingual doses seem more cerebral than edibles or just swallowing. One thing to consider is the addition of flavonoids which also modulate the effects of THC like terpenes. Flavonoids are degraded when heated.

Thank you. I realize some components degrade while others convert to other compounds. I've tried chewing raw cured bud and chewed for 10-15 minutes but it did practically nothing.

Thats what I go for and yes the trippy effects are awesome on the right strains, sativa and sativa dominant strains being the best. You do not need to even swallow it if you chew it long enough.
Try some Golden Tiger by Ace cured this way its sublime like ecstacy the emotions that come in waves can not be denied.
Its the best high I have experienced chewed.

Thanks, Tangwena. I'll order some of that strain. I've never tried ecstasy and never intend to. I'm just looking for natural medicines to make me feel better and (hopefully) help with health issues.

Hmm... I chewed again for about 15 minutes... 20 minutes now. Did the same as last time... chewed and swished the liquid in my mouth between my lips/gums and under my tongue before swallowing. I'm already feeling less stressed and happy with less pain.

Damn... I hope I don't freak out like I did last night. Heck, I cut the amount in half but it's already coming on a bit strong.

Hi my friend great to hear it helps you so much, it helps me I have 12 different cobs all do different things from giving me energy to giving me a day in heaven without a care in the world.
The fact that taken at 9am it lasts all day is the main bonus, getting the dose right is very important i find 0.35g to be just right but everyone is different and you need to experiment untill you get the dose right.
After that its just measure the dose and chew your chosen meds.

For feeling strong with no pain try Zamaldelica it makes me feel like I am 16 and full of energy, def good for pain killing.
I have plenty of painful joints and a bad back, but once I chew that I feel like going to a disco and pulling chicks ha ha.

The Panama is also good for energy and a dreamy tripped out relaxed day.

But for mood elevating and a zest for life Golden Tiger is my fav.
If I feel down and tired it will make the day feel like I just won the lottery and the rest of my life will be great.
I use it as meds for recuperating and giving me a positive outlook when things bring me down.

Hey Tangwena

Eating cob , weight/portion question.
I don't have a weighing machine to measure out a third of a gram of cob, I could guess the weight fairly accurately with bud, but my cob is as hard and condensed (and there's not much left) and I have no idea on how much would be 0.35 gms? What is the approximate dimensions of a 1/3 gram of hard cob? Would a gram be about 1 cm x 1cm x 1cm?

I've been smoking some cobs made with only bud trim that I made several months ago..it works fine, but as you would expect, the bud cob are stronger.

I also made some cobs out of bud and trim that were too dry, I added water when the cobs were bagged and put on heat for several days ( I also sprayed a mist of water on the dry material and stored under vacuum for several months and these did not "ferment" like other cobs I made with material that were only hung for a day or three after harvest. The drier material that was cobbed didn't have the cob smell, taste or effects. Has anyone else tried cobbing drier material? What were your results?

I use a $30 chinese made electronic scale it works well.
Here is a picture for reference on approximate size. These are half gram doses.
Hi my friend good on you for giving this a try, theres no going back from here ha ha

You really need a scale if you are getting into chewing it half a gram is not much bigger than 0.35g but the difference in effect is very large.

When I guesstimate I invariably overdose and get too high to function properly ha ha.

To get a good fermentation the buds need to be green and relatively moist 24 to 48hrs hung after the cut is usually enough.

Tangwena, thank you for the strain suggestions. I'll buy some Zamaldelica, Panama and Golden Tiger seeds. Where do you buy your seeds?

PM if preferred.
