I'll second that dreams going to become reality and vice a versa on those babies.
I have had a lot of positive feedback when I showed your pics to friends who know what they are looking at.
That cure is going produce the most mind altering kind of cure. I hope you have your space cadet badge handy.

the sweet spot will be making cobs/bricks using a real soft vacuum where the air has been mostly removed and only slight compression has taken place.

I'm some one has mentioned this before ...place the buds in an open jar or use a frame that is placed in the bag and vacuum it then the buds won't get crushed at all.

All I have to say is that the highs from these cobs are the best I ever had..

Tangwena, I like your idea about the loosely packed cobs. So I made them. From my freshly harvested Panama beauty.

1 oz cobs, still pressed, but not as much as the 2 oz cobs:

In the vacuum bag they went and in the warm box at 45C:

Also some parchment paper packs just to experiment:

I've been keeping my buds at approximately 70 percent RH. They've been curing in jars for about a month. They've never dropped below 65 percent because I like them better at 70 percent. Will this process increase potency and improve taste on these? They're very good already but better is always better.:)

Looks like a nice batch you have going my friend the loose cobs generally produce very aromatic cures I think you will like the result.
Try a couple at 12 hrs 18hrs ect they will all get different results especially in the aroma department.
Then dry them until the corn skin feels dry then reseal them in the vacuum bags for a couple of weeks at room temp.
After that you can dry them again until the corn is dry and reseal them again.
Inspect and dry the skin weekly until you cant stand it any more and the smell is sublime, they will then be ready for final dry and aging for a couple of months.

This is one of my favorite types of cure everyone I give it to just goes crazy over the old school taste smell and high.
The buds can be easily separated from the cob and are usually golden yellow and reds ect very nice to look at and even better to smoke.

I used this cure on my Aces Panama and Golden Tiger and they both came out exceptionally well cured and the aromas were outstanding. The high on the Panama also turned very very trippy and chewed lasts for 10hrs easily and the first 3 to4 hours of going up are very intense.

You are doing gods work my friend in no time you will be in nirvana as far as your pot goes Respect to you it is a new world unfolding for you.

I usually use fresh buds but some members have tried it using predried buds.
It will not hurt them as long as you use a vacuum you cant get mold so why not try it using a couple of buds and see if you like the result.
The main thing in this process is to sweat the buds using warm heat 40 to 60c while the buds are in a vacuum. Then dry them as they should appear wet if they have sweated.
It shrivels the buds and removes moisture from fresh green buds and accelerates the decomp of the chlorophyll in the leaves.
It also matures the resin and I think changes the terps as well.

You dont get these changes to the same degree in the usual dry and age in a jar.

Well then, I guess I'll wait to try this process on the next crop. :)

I really like the way these cobs turn out in the phitis! I chop my girls at about 30% amber trichs anyways. I try not to push them further usually due to weather, and the plant's last try at fertilization hermie. I am going to try this cure on some of my strains this year, although i dont grow any sativas. I dont currently have anything to chop and try. NEways, Tangwena, good on ya! Ill be around... :lurk:

Looking good my friend now semi dry it (just a little moist)Then vacuum seal it to cold cure checking and drying weekly for a month
Before fully drying and sealing for aging. Panama responds well to this cure you will have rolled gold in a few months.
Its going to be big smiles at your place once that is aged.
Beautiful work no looking back my friend.

How are you guys removing the cob from fresh corn.does it need to dry or can I use it fresh. Do I need to use the whole cob For each cob. Does that make sense?

so you didn't read anything?

Yeah I know you wait 24 hours after removing it but not sure how to remove it to use properly. I have tried on about 5 so far.

I read the whole thing over the course of the last two months so I apologize for some things being hazey after 154 pages. I thought everyone was cool on this thread. :huggg:

I can't wait to try this method of curing. I have bought some criolla (local strains, not cripa) weed out here, that was cured like this in a brick, not cob. It had the same rich coloring and super potency. I am truly curious as to whats actually taking place with this fermentation or whatever that changes the high so drastically.

I was shocked at how the cob method changed the nature
of the buds.

I have only cobbed Thai haze x sk1 and Zamaldelica.

The cob product is dramatically deeper than good cured buds,
longer lasting too, closer to the bubble hashish from these cultivars.

Some friends I have shared cob with raise an eyebrow at the bricked
look to the product, and the fermentation aspect worries some.

So I made new friends, lol

I will do a cob of some White Rhino next run and judge for myself
what a cob of a wide leaf can do.

And I will post again when the new cobbed Zamaldelica are ready.

And a thunk, I got one in flower now, ready in a few months, lol

For those interested I ran a couple kashmir strains I had beautiful dark purple and reddish buds... After fermenting they looked black and smelled of a sweet pine sol after curing for two months the cobs came out jet black with a little red.... Strongest shit I have ever tried... Like a four way window pain... Scared the hell out of me...... Gave some to my neighbor and he thinks its laced with acid and dangerous..... ... Way to potent for my liking I like mellow trips with a smile..... So you can get that overkill if that's what your into.... Growing a good number of snowhigh landraces this summer looking for that old red brick and gold look and
santa Marta incense taste not this wall
melting shit.

Favorite so far is golden tiger and zamaldelica for this technique.

most are very cool but when you ask about removing the cob from the corn sounds like you haven't read a thing.. the cob of the corn isn't used at all, one uses the corn husk for making Tangs COBs.
maybe you mistakenly used the word cob but meant husk.. I dono but it makes, me anyway, think you want someone else to do your homework..

Damn whats so fucking hard about answering a simple question instead of being a dick? You use the leaf from a corn cob fresh or a day or two dry use just enough to cover the cob completely so im guessing 2 or 3 corn husk covers even just one if the cob your making is smaller. Obviously you eat the damn corn and are using the leafs that cover that delicious corn.
