hey doggie ..your up early mate , 6am ..approaching summer for you ?
i think tangweena recommends just hours at that while its vac packed , maybe 36hr then several months curing after that ..he must still be in bed ..or out fishing hehehe ..
Hi my friend I was out, out of it he he.
Yeah with those lovely cobs you have made it would be cool to do them in batches.
One batch 12hrs sweating, another 18hrs and another 24hrs.
Def not much more, if you go 48hrs on one you will have the Malawi equivalent of the fabled Congo Black cobs.
Try a few with the buds dried another day longer and the same sweating times.
Make sure you write on the bags the times sweated ect. Then 2 to 3 weeks at ambient temps to cold sweat them.
then dry them slowly and repack them vacuumed to age.
Make sure you keep the different sweat and cure times written on the packages.
That way in 3 or 4 months time when they are aged and you are too high to even remember your name you will know how you got there ha ha.
Those buds in the heap you have there would be so much fun to cob up man I wish I was there ha ha.
Today is my second day on the GT cob man I was put through the ringer I have been to the carnival and back so many times today.
Every wave of ecstacy that washes over me lays me down for 5 mins or so and then I come back higher than before. I love this stuff its got everything you could want in a trippy sunshiny sought of way.

You right Rod.. cant sleep last days properly..

think just 36 hours is not enough for sweating.. the more you sweat them the more they
will transform in those good goodies, those sweet and nice smell.

I know i didnt made so much cobbed weed but somehow understand process already
even i didnt made them vacumed they didnt go bad or moldy, made also cobs
inside naylon baggies and mylar baggies so its not necessary to have natural
materials for cobbing.

What is main important is to not use dry buds but ones that still have some humidity,
like 4-5 days dryed weed, that is crucial step beside those temperatures we provide
for cobs to be proper cured, also i encounter that longer sweating bring better
cob effects and Tangwena before gived those info,so i made by his words.

Kind regards Rod

thanks for your imput doggie . the buds were like you describe , maybe 3-4 days drying , stems were still quite green ..
already its been 4hours at 40c and the bags are sweating like you wouldn't believe , wet as ! i cobbed golden tiger last year and no where as hot . they ended up having this intoxicating sweet smell to them and blew your head off ! just didn't do enough hahaha..

I see you are fixing that problem this year ha ha Thats a lot of Malawi cobs my friend.
Awesome pic where was that taken? Shark bays is an awe inspiring place hey.
I am going up again for two weeks at the end of July and two weeks at the beginning of August to catch some more fish I cant wait. I looked at the weather last week and said to the missus I think I should go back up. But there is too much to do painting the house for winter. I live on the ocean front and the salt eats everything unless you keep it painted.

Hi my friend great to hear your having success with a slightly different method.
Do you have any pics I would love to see some? What did the cobs look like after such a long sweat?
We are all here to learn and share so it would be great to see a few close ups and a review of what the strain or type was, also how the high was changed after that length of time.

No pics Tangwena, but will made again cobs now when harvest finishing and then i show you, will specialy made cobs whithouth
any vacum sealing and inside material that you dont use.

They exchange colours from green to brown-orange,much darker than initial material i was put in,i agree that corn husks, banana
leafes or grape leafes are better as this material is natural
but it can be maded inside synthetic material too as it alouds
sweating..

if i sees there is a too much exces wett on baggies i unwrap
her and live material dry a bit and then i wrap it again inside
those synthetic cob and live on further sweating.

Maded same results like i was done with corn husk, product haved same properties so i was say why not to use synthetics
cause corn husks we have once in a year.

Kind regards Tangwena

Nice work my friend but keep an eye on them in a mason jar as I have had mold start in jars even vacuumed. I dont think the vacuum is 100% in jars. Its ok if the buds are dried but cobs are usually moist inside.
If I was you I would seal them individually in bags. You can open the bags and reseal them any time to check the cure. I got mold in a jar that had buds in that were sweated and partly dried then vacuumed for long term storage.
It could have been I didn't get a good seal but it put me off using them for long term storage. I never have a problem in the bags.
Just a cautionary warning from my past experience.
Tangwena

I've had this issue with foodsaver, I have never had it though when pulling a vac with a Weston or stronger type model, the jar attachment they make is nice though (foodsaver), their vacuums sadly are a bit weak for my liking, - If you use them side by side a good vacuum., the difference is night and day, foodsaver are starter models....... A good vac is great tool for so many things

Tang, the great thread continues

Hi Led05 you are probably right a good vacuum is not easy to pull without a good pump.
Luckily I only use it on small test batches in the mason jar and dont store in a jar so it only happened that one time and i dried and chewed them any way.
But its a good cautionary warning for anyone wanting to use a vac jar for long term storage.
Thanks for the info mate.

Golden Tiger

Golden Tiger

Here is a few shots of my last GT grows cobs. These smelt so good after 3 weeks in the vac bag it stunk my whole house up. Lovely musky pine hashish smell. If you were blind folded you would swear the smell was from some primo hash.
The high is very special still a little stony but another month aging will see it clear up and go very MDMA type trippy high no stone at all.

Its still a little moist at 4 months old and you can use your thumb nail to carve up chunks like hash. If you chew a slice you get all the terps taste I would recognize this taste anywhere its a classic like the Zamaldelica cob I have as well which smells even better its the best smelling cob I have, nothing short of amazing.

yeah ..that looks good enough to eat tangwena , hope mine turn out like that ..
i pulled mine outa the vac bag after 36 and 48 hrs respectively at 43c and dried them so they are a bit soft in the middle ..i've re vacuumed them and put them away in a warm place for the duration .
one small one was cut in half ..hahaha on purpose ..the smell already was very sweet / sour , fermented ..very appealing ! so i smoked it ..far out , real high feeling , could still function but i got real shaky on it , if you know what i mean .
the bigger cobs i did contained 30gms each of maybe 85% dried bud so come opening time i can say what the finished weight is ..cheers tang .

Hi Rod that sounds very tasty, every week open the bags and check them, drying further, tasting ect before revaccing.
This is the bit I like most lots of sampling, sniffing and generally enjoying them regularly from here on.
You need to guide them to the right moisture level and age. Keep them just smokabley moist if you know what I mean.
I had 24hr break from cobs yesterday as they weren't getting me as high lately. I probably need 3 or 4 days but 1 is better than nothing and its def better today as a result ha ha.
I have been seeing some great cob pics lately I reckon there is some top drawer cobs being made at the moment. Some of the stuff I have been seeing is nothing short of amazing world class even in Malawi it would rate top quality I am sure.

yes , over the last 12 months i've seen more and more people using your way of cobbing to produce some amazing weed ..
i normally don't eat buds , just don't like the taste , but last year i went camping out into the desert and chewed a plug of GT that had been cobbed ..wow ! haha like hansel and gretel i should have left some bread crumbs to find my way back ..it was extremely " speedy " and lasted a number of hours ..pheew ..what a trip !
thanks for your knowledge tang ..

Smoke test Haze13 Cobs

Smoke test Haze13 Cobs

I'm writing this completely sober.
I smoked a very small pea size chunk of the cob (fermented for two weeks after two days in a warm box).
Two drags, on the third I was high, very high. It had power over me. My lips dried out. My body was all pumped up, I felt like lifting a hundred pounds. Then when relaxed my arms, they started rising and moving on their own in all directions, never had that happen before.. Wow, but it felt good on my spine. Waves of pleasure throughout my body.
No harshness, no coughing, was actually surprised by that. Very soft smoke.

Then I enjoyed playing a guitar, the sounds were absolutely beautiful.
Then took pictures of my yard and trees, worked on a small project. Any activity was enhanced, and time seemed to not exist.
Then I enjoyed some food, some simple vegetables steamed, with peanut butter. Very nice.
All this lasted for about three hours. Then it was back to normal, but clean with no headaches and no exhaustion, more like awaking from a nap.
The high seemed to be of higher quality than that from a regular cured bud. And it really got me. I was thinking "This is no joke".
Also it was telling me "You are not your master, I am!"
So, wow! Cobs.., will be doing them from now on. And loose buds too, fermented the same way. Can't wait to see what the Panamas will do..

The cobs smell amazing!

Looks very good my friend, the high you describe is on the money, I dont think it is stronger just clearer and more in your head. That feeling of being in touch with yourself is also common. Thats why I describe it as higher class high.
Dry it a bit and seal some up and age it for 2 or 3 months you will notice a big improvement in every way.
Then weigh about 0.35g but no more than 0.5g and chew it for 5 mins or more, then wash it down.
Give it a least 2 hours to take effect dont take more or smoke anymore. By the 3 to 4 hour mark you will be peaking and experiencing magical feelings.
Once you reach the plateau at about the 5 hr mark you will stay that high for another 2 to 4 hours then gently come down no hangover just a warm content feeling.
Its a very special kind of high I think you will enjoy. One tip when things start getting a little confused put on some music and lay down on the floor and just let go it lasts about 15 mins and comes in waves.

Once you have ridden it out you feel incredible and a lot higher than before. I usually get 3 or 4 of these waves as you go up to the next level each time.

Just make sure you chew the hell out of it the high starts from the chewing and then gets reinforced an hour later from the dust you swallowed.

Aces Panama and well any of their strains really but the Panama in particular really shines with this cure. its one of my fav highs chewed lasts 10hrs plus easily and the high is so pleasant you will not stop smiling and will feel like Jesus when talking to people its a special high.
Also Golden Tiger but thats a lot stronger and intense, horses for courses as they say I love them all chewed.

I agree that the high is of much higher quality, especially the second part which is now a lot more distinguishable. After the first part of the high with the big rush, heart pounding and body pump for about an hour, there comes the second part much calmer but making everything look beautiful and amazing, even the simplest things around. For example the noises in the neighborhood, they are all in the background, good noises, bad noises, i can hear them all, and even ponder on them. The bad noises are not irritating at all, and the birds chirping is like the sounds of Heaven.
This second part of the high last about 3-4 hours. Before when I smoked regular bud, I would only notice the first part with the big rush and when that was over I thought the high was over too. But now after testing the cob, I can experience a full blown much emphasized second part of the high lasting much longer, where the world is like seen through a magical glass, same reality but with that "WOW", is this tree alive or what..?? That second part is what I'm after.
