Cured

Cured

Sleepy, Lets hope I make it to the "cured" part....does three weeks into flower + microwave oven count as "cured." :biglaugh:

They should be ripe for the pickin, right when the Formula 1 US Grand Prix gets here around June 23(Day 60; flower). Maybe pluck a few before the race, I have ten days off after the race, to start curing. I just cant wait till they get frosty. :canabis:

Not much to report...Same as yesterday, just perkier and a wee bit taller. Busy with the new little tikes on the Bubbledust thread. Later...

Added some Top Max to the mix(PB Bloom, GH F-lishous Blm, CM+, Diamond Nectar). After I added the Top Max last night, today the plants did quite a stretch, especially Queen, she's nearly as tall as Runt. I'm totally out of light room, snappin, bendin, twistin...I doing everything to keep'um off the light. Lesson learned, too long in veg in this space and need to top'um more or LST. All for now.

Bungle In The Jungle

Bungle In The Jungle

Snapped a few pics...

No room left...had to re-duct...less efficient this way...temps are up

See what I mean about two females in this space is plenty. The kola in the center is the one that broke when I was snappin...the top leaves got sizzled before I moved the light.

The SLOG is back...little nugs everywhere...Queen is in the back left corner...Runt is trained in a big "L" around Queen...You can see the one top that is cropped right now. :canabis:

Queen is on a super stretch right now. Grew like 7" in two days. Seems like the Top Max is makin go crazy. I'll try to get some out-of-the box pics this weekend.

I've gotten real aggressive with snappin the top, they don't care how much I break their necks, they just pop right up.

All for now.

Thrilla in Manilla is spot on

Thrilla in Manilla is spot on

MGJ you have no idea how true your statement is. When I took those last pics, it was right at lights out. I have been sliding a manilla file folder between the glass and lamp to take pics ala Crazy Composer to lessen the intensity of the HPS. On the last pics the light went out right when I was going to shoot. I took a few of pics with lights off, then closed up the closet. When I got home the next day from work, to my horror I found I had left the file folder in the light(what a dumbass). There was a big burn hole in it. Residue was stuck to the glass. I am damn lucky the folder was fire resistant. A real thrilla from a manilla. At least it didn't hurt my rope-a-dope. :biglaugh:

Growdoc glad to see ya back, I think I am going to do as you suggest. Queen is as tall as Runt now. I think these plants are more sativa dom then I first thought. Early on they looked indica pheno(short, fat leaves, bushy), now they look much more sativa pheno(tall, skinny long leaves, lanky). A SCROG would have probably worked better, I just don't like the plants anchored to the grow. I'll take some pics when I do break them over.

Until next time....

Sometimes I'm psychic - or is it psychotic...

Wow - such an adventurous life you live!!! I like the idea of covering the light for picture taking - guess I missed it somehow, I like CC's posts a lot. Anyway, I'm gonna think about some way to do it without paper products  Paper and a stoner like me don't mix... Maybe a loose alum foil wrap or something. Was wondering how folks got reasonable colors under HPS - by the time I do manual color correction it looks like a Monet painting :biglaugh: Glad it turned out ok, sure is nice when close calls remain close calls and not "Oh my gaaad, nooooooo" adventures.

Meanwhile continue to whip and rope the dope :biglaugh: Break their nucking fecks!!!!

Cheers :friends:

Packn, Any indica plant will alter the way in which it's leaves grow towards the top of the plant. I figure 2 reasons for it.
1 allows light to lower fatter leaves
2 protection from greater heat, (lower surface area = less heat absorbed)
3 requires less nitrogen which has already been plundered by roots.
oh I figure 3 reasons
So don't worry on that front.
Close call on the folder, I knew anything connected to work created stress.

Thanks Growdoc - the problem is the white balance adjustments on my camera suck - ok for outside sun, everything else needs adjustment. I've tried every wb setting flourescent / day / tungsten lamp / flash / flash fill... It's a 6 year old canon - I'm thinking of buying a used camera just for a switch.

Thanks for the WB suggestion, it was a very good one!!!!! :friends:

Yeah I play with WB, but I like using a good lighting source more than trying to fool the camera. I've been looking into a good digital SLR(Canon EOS 20D 8.2MP $1400) with a macro lens(EF 100mm f/2.8 macro USM $600) and macro flash(Macro Ring MR-14EX $500). So $2500-3000 US give or take to shoot some killer Pics....wish list anyway.

packn - sounds great - excellent choices.

I agree - from the pics i see here some folks wb does a good job with hps, but the less the camera has to futz with the picture the better the colors will be. Maybe I should get a cheapie portable halogen lamp for picture lighting.... Hmmm, gonnat have to think about that one....

Later!

I been taking pics lately, especially on the new thread, with flash diffused by putting a papertowel folded three times in front of the flash, with excellent results(I use the timer so I'm not all handsy). All the color without the overexposer, that's what a macro flash does. A cheap halogen would work good with a opaque piece of plastic, white sheet or something to diffuse the light. A photog umbrella would be nice.

Well I broke over a whole bunch of tops, about 8" down the stems, mostly on Queen. She shot past Runt with fury. What happened is all the little branches along the bent-over-90degrees stems, popped up and is growing in a instant LST style. I bent'um good Growdoc, they haven't budged from 90 all day. I wouldn't mind if they stay down, although bud support may be a problem later, but I can handle that. I couldn't budge Runt's top kola. I've snapped that one so many times it's like wood now. I just snapped the tallest sub branches over. I'm gonna take some pics, but can't post them till monday or so until the site has the new hard-drive. Buds everywhere....mmmmm

Not much to post today...added the two fluoros 2'(61cm) 18w ea to the lower walls to fill the light a little bit...what the hell why not...The stems still haven't popped back up, and I don't think they will...too much weight with the buds growing on top of them...nothing died though, so it will buy me some time. Just watering them with barely any suppliments, no NPK(I'm riding just at the edge of what they can handle, about 1000ppm runoff at last check). I'm letting them cool off, just a little GH Di Nectar to lower pH, and epsom salts. I like to use the DiNe to lower the pH, dual purpose here, lower pH and help metabolize nutes.
Next week I'll start the GH Kool Bloom. The last 3 weeks before flush will be GH KB, GH Floralicious Bloom, Top Max, GH Di Nectar(probably 1/4-1/2 strength) little ep-salts & micros maybe once more. In the end I'll Flush'um with Botanicare Clearex Nutrient Salt Leaching Solution (ah..pretty much mostly sugar water)then just RO water. Till later
