Makeshift Mini Garden Seeks Advice

GMT question - what's a bog roll 
? Is it like sphagnum moss?
Props to both you and cough_cough - sure you guys don't grow bonsai :wink: ?
packn - as GMT and cough_cough wrote, the secret to success is splinting it somehow - whether rafia +/- wire, wire, bog roll - so the wound doesn't keep moving as it's healing. As for the wound salve - some of the fancier gardening centers will have it - it is used to seal tree wounds. I see three types around here - a tar paint, stuff that looks like clay that you pack into an open wound, and this japanese manufactured greenish latex stuff. All they do is seal the wound to keep bad stuff out +/- some chemical hocus pocus. I use the latex stuff - I wrap the break in rafia and then smear the latex stuff to seal it. The great thing about rafia is if the branch gets thicker it breaks the rafia rather than grooving.
But that is probably overkill for 0420 - it's not an exotic tropical bonsai, it's a weed. I'm sure however you splint the branch she'll have a very good chance at mending.

I didn't know either MGJ, because we are Yanks! Found this on the web.
Bog roll and other great englishisms...The other day Andy used the phrase "bog roll" in a sentence to me and I was in fits of giggles... he was talking about toilet paper, toilet roll, loo roll. I just had images of bogs in my head and laughed and laughed. He couldn't explain to me why it was called bog roll though.
(((I've since looked it up and apparently "bog" is one of the words for the toilet from the 1800s...)))
I was just in fits of giggles when I read that..hehehehe
By the way the pic of Droopy was meant for GMT. I went a little trim happy early in the grow. Droopy was indeed a male and that was the last pic before he was pitched.
Now a few pix. I was going to feature Queen, but decided to just let Runt rest. Her branches are hugging around Queen like a lesbian on cable TV. In a big L pattern, except the main kolas, they are twisted together to ease the leverage they have at pulling apart. Very little fan wind to aggrevate the damage as well. Just tied Runt with some electrical wire, and laid a rolled up soaked paper towel over like a saddle blanket. Both plants looked good today, gave' um a good shot of CO2, that brought'um around. Had to move the light up, the only thing I can do next is make some custom hangers for my hood, that will only give me a few more cm's. Now the pix:

Ow, stop it, my sides, mysides, Well done packn, could have made alittle more effort on the wrapping side of things, but other than that spot on. You'll need to leave that electrical wire on until the end now though, just for support, other than that, 2 weeks and all will be good. Keep that "wet paper towel" wet though as you dont want the damaged plant tissue drying out on you.
Awfully glad droopy was a confirmed boy, I thought those fan leaves were starting to go to your head.

I have been snapping/breaking plants for many years, as for most things in life there is a time and place for it... If i get a shooter/tall plant then i will break the plant compeltely over until it almost touches the ground( more then 90 degrees) ...if a small plant is skinny and has very little side branching the i snap the growing top until i here a small snapping sound, this causes the head to slow down and the rest of the plant picks up, after 24 hrs the plant is growing like normal and this can be repeated each node.
I dont use and kind of supports after the breaking/snapping or do i dress the wound. Plants will heal faster when conditions are optimal...
I am not saying that this works for everyone but it works great for me, and my girls love it...

Yes absolutely right Doc, it's a very good, could say "natural" way to slow vertical growth and to keep the canopy even if you have different strains/phenos in the room....

I'll try to get some pics later today, they're getting hairy. Iv'e got runt all sprawled out to get better coverage of the lower canopy, and get the tall tops away from the light hot spots and below the medium tops.

Buds starting to fill out nicely. Runt's a little droopy, but otherwise doing good. no complaints out of queen. So on with the pics....
